Is this PS2 version the same game as the OG Xbox version? That version is backwards compatible and seems to hold up played on XB1 or Series X

It should be. Although the Xbox version may have been upgraded for resolution etc with back compatibility 👍

We are spoiled in mondern games, with directional markers, switches and ledges which are clearly marked, to guide us through puzzles and levels.
Back in the day, also without internet, you really got stuck in games.
