radarlove007 what's crazy is that boat is so out dated by today's standards the 6 screw vessel was back before Diesel engine technology was what it is! It was the boat that never stopped
Brandon what size license do you need to run a crew boat these days. When I ran one in the 70's they were mostly 100' to 110' long and all you needed was 100 ton license and for a supply boat a 300 ton or if you had a radar endorsement that made you 500 ton. I imagine radar and fire fighting is all mandatory now. What is start out pay for crew boat capt and supply boat capt?
radarlove007 nowadays with the oil crisis all day rates are down and jobs are hard to get 350 per day is doing pretty good on a crew boat and all crew boats are 100 ton for the most part even the 200 footers along with mini supply's in the 200 foot range they only require a 100ton .... as long as you are operating a 100 ton boat coast guard doesn't require stcw nor firefighting it is typically only needed on vessels greater than 100 tons unless its a company requirement
Bob tull was the captain on this boat, long time friend that passed away will be missed....
Nice. I miss piloting these babies
I ran crew boats in the 70's in the Gulf and the boats today look like space ships compared to the ones back then.
