He put himself about in tackles and a willingness to run the lines just to spread the play, if needed be. When he got the ball he knew when to play it forward and when to turn in or back. Beckham is a classic example of what you can achieve with hard work...in interviews all the people at Man Utd always talked about how he would practice free kicks and crosses for hour, after hour, after hour....you could see the results of all that practice on the pitch.
I appreciate what you're saying but.... Every player can improve with practice but that doesn't mean they'll cross like Beckham. Carlos Figo and Zidane were great crossers too but even they'll admit that Beckham's speed dip and accuracy on his delivery can't be duplicated
