Very interesting, I came upon this video probably because it expresses exactly the opposite opinion I have. We're all entitled to our opinions and I happen to really like the Mystic Mondays deck as someone who's been studying and reading tarot cards for multiple decades and has by this point probably easily given away more decks than I currently own. The guidebook alone (if that’s important to you) is easily one of the best I’ve seen come with a tarot deck, and nothing like the “lwb” ilk you find packed into most decks that are as good as useless.
I find this deck to be very unsuitable for beginners or "teenagers" (unless they happen to be highly intuitive and imaginative), because the imagery cuts through all the bs and directly goes to the essence of each card. It allows you to zero in on your own insights and visions within the context of each reading, as long as you have a good foundation in tarot, numerology and astrology. At the same, there's a really positive, healing and constructive vibe to the deck, which I appreciate as it can be used for therapy and counselling. I definitely wouldn't call it "neon" as a wide colour palette was chosen for the deck and its clean, meditative design also contributes a great deal to the meaning of each card. I would never give away this deck to inexperienced readers though, so I definitely don't share the opinion that this deck is necessarily suited or marketed for "teenagers" or people who know nothing about tarot, quite the contrary.
Interesting that you mentioned the Thoth system in contrast. I've owned varying versions of this deck, various sizes and it never spoke to me, in fact, I probably feel about it the way you feel about the Mystic Mondays deck. I gave it many chances, but it's dark, and I might even possibly go as far to say its evil nature has always repelled me and I'm glad of that to be honest. Most of the people I've met who really like that deck also seem to have a narcissistic or pathological bend to them as well. Not saying that's you (I don't know you!), and that may just be a coincidence, but my own intuition and experience with that deck has guided me away from it. Interestingly enough, there are some cards in the Mystic Mondays deck that are “Thoth-like”, but due to their minimalistic design, the creator’s gotten rid of a lot of the gobbledygook and nefariousness, and therefore imparted more focus to the message of those cards.
And don't worry, I can almost guarantee that Grace Duong not only doesn't care about your review, but it's highly unlikely she has even seen or heard of it. So no need to worry about what she supposedly thinks about it 😉 I think it's very safe to say she doesn't. All this to say, different strokes for different folks!

Mystic Mondays was actually my first deck, and I really appreciate it as a learning deck, because it's just RWS enough for me to learn from your average tarot book, but also pippish enough for me to get comfortable with reading pip decks early on. And I could go on and on about how well Grace used color to convey the energy of each card and how it's great for practicing intuitive reading. I, personally, would 10/10 recommend it for beginners, as it seems to cover many bases. It was a perfect first deck for me and years later still gets tons of regular use because of how clearly my messages come through.

Do you have a problem with these tarot cards? can't you live your life because they appeared on the market?

Hello I might be a little late lol mystic mondays doesn’t have enough symbolism for me I can really learn with it I have to look up the meanings in the guide books because the faces don’t have expressions or like example the (fool car has a guy with a bag showing he has the resources to take this leap and the mystic deck just had a girl with a dress and a flower it’s just a aesthetic pleasing deck for the girls who want to play pretend

I disagree w the end bit. Some of us like to read w intuition and not have the symbolism, which is why i personally like the deck. + there's nothing wrong w having something aesthetically to work w, it doesn't make it any less of a powerful tool. It personally works well for me.

It was my first deck to learn with and I still read tarot regularly years later. Totally fine if it's not for you (I find decks too heavy with symbolism/busy imagery to often be overwhelming because "analysis paralysis" lol), but it's not for "playing pretend". I chose it because the colors were speaking to me on an intuitive level, and it turned out to be a great deck for learning not only RWS meanings, but also getting comfortable reading pips. The more simple imagery and color associations made it easier for me to learn basic meanings, while also allowing lots of space for my intuition to run with the more abstract imagery. And even years later after learning LOTS more about tarot and symbolism, I still regularly use this deck because my readings with it are always crystal clear, and no sugar-coating (despite the sugary colors). I even like the expressionless faces because it allows me to mentally insert myself or another (such as a querent) into the card.
The tl;dr of that is, people's brains and intuition triggers be different and that's just like your opinion man 🤷🏽‍♀️ no need to throw other "girls" under the bus for having different taste in tarot.

Agreed!!!! Horrible. What's funny is that I don't see anyone (not one person) using it anymore. And I watch ALOT of Tarot videos. Bet they have buyers remorse once they realized there's nothing to the deck. So I think more people than you realize feel the same way.
