lower the tyre pressures and toe in on front and back wheels. max downforce and increase the ride height also really shorten the gear ratios, yes you will have to rev bang on straights but itll burn more gas.
I didn´t know that in Forza cars actually halt when ran out of fuel, some games you can keep going without fuel but very slowly. Like Grand prix 3 if you use modded tracks the AI can´t calculate fuel properly and most of the AI cars ran out of fuel in the race.
Interesting idea and challenge. I would of chosen a high speed, high accelerating car with absolutely awful cornering, so you'd be burning fuel at all times, in the straights and constantly trying to get the car balanced to turn/get in and around the corners.
I have a suggestion for a race/challenge. So most endurance races are about going as far as possible, what about a race where you have to go the least distance, however, it has to be A class again, and you have to race hard, like you were trying to win. So you'd have to go fast, but also slow.
well the Plymouth fury is not going to run out of fuel is it? it not only drives itself but also repair it's self too! ( if anyone does not get the reference just ask)
I was expecting a Lancer Evo in there, which is reputed to get less than four miles per gallon when Jeremy Clarkson tested it out on the track, all the while having a tiny fuel tank.
I did actually run out in the Fury, although with only about 10 seconds left. I also had to pit at the end of lap 1, resetting the fuel, after crashing because I forgot we were doing the layout with the chicanes :P
With the daytona, the car actually has two fuel tanks on either side of the car, between the wheel wells in the rear, about 30 gallons total, same thing with the testarossa too. so I'm not surprised about that result, countach though, Jay leno had said with his it gets 8 to 10 on a REALLY good day, so I already knew that one, although i wish forza would make another model of it, as that one they have has been reused in a ton of games and looks more like a replica than the real thing.
Why not reverse the challenge and see who can run out of fuel last. This being that your meant to drive economically but with other cars your bound to race. Thought this might be an interesting challenge, what does anyone else think.
Should turn off abs, hold throttle down the whole race, and floor brake and throttle entering corners. Under downshifting and braking, the engine spins off momentum of tires rolling on the ground. 0 fuel used on braking and coasting.
Proper trick to a gas consumption race would be to buy a 1973 Mazda RX3, supercharge and upgrade the basic 12A engine, and drive it nonstop in 3rd gear. Watch how fast that knocks you out.
+Gijs Dekkers yes I know so if you have a survive the longest and allowed hummers you know what will win (the answer has already been given here) but if you disallowed them then it would be far more interesting.
most economical car! rules: no electrics or hybrids, only a class, always race at full speed and don't go into pits. circuit? well, think that's not that hard? something like lemans (straights) or nurburgring nordscheifle (straights and 156 corners)
in a first to run out of fuel race the bigger, heavier and more block style the vehicle is the better chance you have of running out of fuel. and just the opposite for a last to run out of fuel race, the smaller, lighter and more aerodynamic a car is the better the chance of being the last one with fuel .
+RacinUltimatum uh I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons rotaries didn't achieve mass success, despite their low displacement they have TERRIBLE gas mileage
McFreshfleisch The best way of burning fuel might be running a Hummer with the 7L HEMI swapped in, as its still a Hummer being moved but with a smaller fuel tank. Also makes it easier to drive, as theres not 1400 torques going through the wheels.
Should've done a Jeremy Clarkson and open the boot fully and just leave it in 3rd flat out
Thing is thought he lost haha
+Im Suda good point 😁
Love the reference but you should have showed up in an auto union with its massive V16
Pacman ! Hahaha that is a good idea 😂👌
+Pacman ! No he should have showed up in a Gurkha
i bet a lot of the cars that didn't run out of fuel had upgraded their fuel systems.
You should do a shred the tires fastest challenge. Then drifting would be key.
I would just burnout x')
+Gabin Groll doesn't ruin the fronts
It does if you have an awd car a lot of power and a wall :p
Restrict all people to racing tyres too, or it'll last a minute with drag tyres and a GTR.
Make a very under steering and over steering car. Wear the front tires first with under steer, and the rears with Burnouts
lower the tyre pressures and toe in on front and back wheels. max downforce and increase the ride height also really shorten the gear ratios, yes you will have to rev bang on straights but itll burn more gas.
That Subaru was running a Motorstorm Apocalypse Livery
as proven on top gear, the ford gt is by far the best road car for burning fuel, and its in a class. someone shouldve used it
Most interesting challenge I've ever seen. It's like reverse F1.
I was waiting to see someone drive flat out 3rd all the way lol
I would think the Ferrari F12 would be a good choice. Huge V12 engine and I doubt the fuel tank is very big.
do one gear racing you pick a gear for a race and stay in it for the entirety of the race b class cars would be good
Tesla is a class right?
He has already done one, about 3 or 4 months back
Danny Maskell ooooh cool
I'd be interested to see the crew try this again. I'm not sure what game they could choose but I'm interested nonetheless.
indeed, it would be interesting to see.
The fins made the Fury so aerodynamic.
TOO aerodynamic for a Old-Timey Muscle car.
+Moose 1-1 Actually, that is more aerodynamic if i think about it...
This will ALWAYS be one of my favorite FailRace videos
I didn´t know that in Forza cars actually halt when ran out of fuel, some games you can keep going without fuel but very slowly. Like Grand prix 3 if you use modded tracks the AI can´t calculate fuel properly and most of the AI cars ran out of fuel in the race.
Holy hell, that Monaro was getting some crazy angle... Also, this is an interesting idea for a challenge; I'll have to try that in my spare time.
+Adrian Brown Yeah, me too.
I don't know what it is but seeing a shouty drift car in a pack of relatively civilised race cars puts a smile on my face
Why not max the Hummer's engine to A700?
I have an A class 240sx with a 2 litre vtec swap and that uses 40% of its tank a lap on Le Mans.
Interesting idea and challenge. I would of chosen a high speed, high accelerating car with absolutely awful cornering, so you'd be burning fuel at all times, in the straights and constantly trying to get the car balanced to turn/get in and around the corners.
A Fail Race top tip for ya guys if ya want a fuel Efficent car don't buy a Prius buy a Hummer H1 lol :p
It isn't fuel efficient, it just has a stupid amount of fuel.
That corvette needs a medal for that drift
It will be fun doing the inverse !
+Kamui Kobayashi prepare for a 1 hour plus race xD
+lunarctic cs:go with the rotary xD
If the swaps are turbo charged, that would also explain it since turbo motors get better mileage
If i was there you could count on me to be in the shot doing 360's
I have a suggestion for a race/challenge. So most endurance races are about going as far as possible, what about a race where you have to go the least distance, however, it has to be A class again, and you have to race hard, like you were trying to win. So you'd have to go fast, but also slow.

i know the reference, but i dont remember the name of the film..
EclipseGaming2073 I don't get it
one of the best sounding vs the community ever
I would have taken a front-wheel-drive hatchback, put the handbrake on at the start of the race and spun the wheels in 1st gear for the entire race.
Does the game allow you to set the amount of fuel in the tank? The size of the fuel tank throws all of this out of whack, as seen with the Hummer.
I remember once in the original Forza I made a Honda Integra that only managed a lap and a bit of Road America before running out of petrol xD
this is very interesting to watch. I like challenges like this, keep up the good work
not sure if its just me but the camera angles are beautifull in this game.
I was expecting a Lancer Evo in there, which is reputed to get less than four miles per gallon when Jeremy Clarkson tested it out on the track, all the while having a tiny fuel tank.
One of the players is a brony! 😆😂
I did actually run out in the Fury, although with only about 10 seconds left. I also had to pit at the end of lap 1, resetting the fuel, after crashing because I forgot we were doing the layout with the chicanes :P
haha that's bad luck, you must be... furious about it ;D
You should race drift cars, do a community race day or something, that would be great to watch
i would have kept the car in a low gear and rev the knackers off it
I'd have done that and taken the opposite of the racing lines
+jamie duckers more braking if you do that
Dang the people drifting are really good lol
Everyone in the race: "Ok, just run out of fuel, no racing, no racing, no racing, no... *Sees car next to him going faster than him* FUCK IT!!!!"
With the daytona, the car actually has two fuel tanks on either side of the car, between the wheel wells in the rear, about 30 gallons total, same thing with the testarossa too.

Forza 6 has fuel? xD owned the game for 3 months now and never knew that.... :/
you should do this again but this time with everyone in the same car and see who can run out first
in real life money or yuros how much have you spent in in game credits?
I reckon a rotary engine would have been a good choice for poor fuel economy.
That Land Rover Defender is the 1337-est vehicle I've ever seen. (13:37)
The pink monaro looked good
What if they just do as many laps as they can by using fast cars on the track, will it burn more fuel? as opposed to the power builds
What car were you? the Charger?
should have took the gurka
+Zane Zinn cant get it into A class.
+Alan Doyle oh yeah
+Zane Zinn The Gurkha also has a massive fuel tank. So it's fuel usage is high but it's also carrying a lot of fuel :P
it has a large fuel tank so no
Damn, that lambo is pretty
it would be great to do one video where the winner is the one who does the most laps on one tank. like the top gear 1 gallon challenge
No comment on that CMC livery, eh Alex? XD
Why not reverse the challenge and see who can run out of fuel last. This being that your meant to drive economically but with other cars your bound to race. Thought this might be an interesting challenge, what does anyone else think.
i thought someone would use an LFA or a '05 ford GT?
The Hummer is also a Diesel so there's that. I'm also surprised I didn't see a rotary powered car out there.
+Tommy Murphy There was a Corolla, but as I've said in lobby and before in the comments, Rotaries in Forza don't burn fuel that badly.
the Hummer also could have came last place not only because of the huge fuel tank, but also the fact that it was a diesel
peripheral ported 4 rotor would have been great for this one.
what settings did you use for this?
I was hoping to see a chart or something at the end. Oh, well...it was very nice still
Do a race where you try to last the longest!
Should turn off abs, hold throttle down the whole race, and floor brake and throttle entering corners. Under downshifting and braking, the engine spins off momentum of tires rolling on the ground. 0 fuel used on braking and coasting.
Also bouncing the rev limiter means the fuel is cut constantly, thus less fuel used.
how do you run out of fuel in forza?
wow enjoyed this video.
Was the Hummer still diesel?
The Mustangs have 50L fuel tanks. So maybe that would work eh?
People forget not to slipstream when doing this. First place is best spot for that.
Yea slipstream is bad for this challenge, however because we're all raceing driver we all kinda forgot and just went racing xD
Proper trick to a gas consumption race would be to buy a 1973 Mazda RX3, supercharge and upgrade the basic 12A engine, and drive it nonstop in 3rd gear. Watch how fast that knocks you out.
Maybe now do the who can survive the longest but no hammers
*hummers
+JParkes43 The Hummer actually survived longest
+Gijs Dekkers yes I know so if you have a survive the longest and allowed hummers you know what will win (the answer has already been given here) but if you disallowed them then it would be far more interesting.
+JParkes43 That would be really easy to cheat by using an electric car.
+JParkes43 That would be really easy to cheat by using an electric car.
most economical car! rules: no electrics or hybrids, only a class, always race at full speed and don't go into pits. circuit? well, think that's not that hard? something like lemans (straights) or nurburgring nordscheifle (straights and 156 corners)
Why not a Rolls Royce. So heavy and a big engine
It has a pretty big fuel tank
if you just sit there and rev your engine you lose no fuel
+Zane Zinn Because forza logic ;P
+Linus Freyer yep it's amazing
in a first to run out of fuel race the bigger, heavier and more block style the vehicle is the better chance you have of running out of fuel. and just the opposite for a last to run out of fuel race, the smaller, lighter and more aerodynamic a car is the better the chance of being the last one with fuel .
1st gear recline it
I'm surprised no one tried a 4-rotor. Their fuel consumption is terrible and a Miata or an RX-8 don't have the biggest fuel tanks.
XD as no one used a Tesla, the damn things never run out.
aldx,if you read this please play more slrr,I miss it so much!
why didn't anyone use a rotary engine ?
because rotary's use almost no fuel, even when they're running almost 10k rpms
+RacinUltimatum I'm sorry but you must know nothing about rotary engines they are less efficient than v8s educate yourself
+RacinUltimatum uh I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons rotaries didn't achieve mass success, despite their low displacement they have TERRIBLE gas mileage
+RacinUltimatum rotaries suck fuel up so much it's not even funny
+RacinUltimatum I have a rotary powered rx7 and I got literally less than 1 mpg
Redline in 1st gear the whole way.
vid iq says that this is a very good video with a 15.7% true engagement rate
+Aiden Oak I love failrace because he is the only youtuber that has genuine tags
???
it's a chrome plugin that allows you to see information on videos such as tags and engagement rate
Can you get something like that on android
i think so
why u no use rotary?
+Jules Kegeleers Rotaries are actually not too bad for fuel economy, you're thinking of oil.
+Nick's Gay Friend (Jacob Jones) no they're terrible with that as well
+Nick's Gay Friend (Jacob Jones) google the mpg of the mazda rx-8
As raregliscor explained in other comments, Forza is a rotary fanboy and boosted its mpg to be good instead of the worst ever.
Can we have a a round two? I suggest using a rotary
I would have picked a hatchback; they have small fuel tanks.
and thats a great idea :D
Cool idea
I agree
more silly challenges like this please
One of the players is a brony. You can tell because he had The Cutie Mark Crusaders on the sides of his car.
i would have picked a muscle car and just go around with my clutch in bouncing the limiter at 20 mph
Surprised there was not a limo.
If the cars where higher end cars, everyone would chose the One:1.
Great commentary mate !
You could do some real motorsport commentary, you have talent :)
i wouldve gone for either a rotary engined fron standard car or a hellcat
i always wondered..... is that Alex's real voice? coz its really good. 100th comment woohoo!
Yes. He has a IRL video
So what's next. Don't run out of fuel?
*Tesla mode intensifies*
Just created a car that did even better than the Jeep!!
Isn't the Hummer a diesel?
Well... If somebody put a 4-Rotor Rotary engine in the Mx-5 NA it would be a 3 minute race.. 40 litres of fuel and that beast of an engine? R.I.P.
As Alex said, swapping the engine probably swaps the fuel tank as well, and the 787b, being a Le Mans racer had a massive fuel tank
ooo 52 Yea that could be true xD But also the stock motor upgraded would burn the fuel in just a few minutes I think :D
McFreshfleisch
The best way of burning fuel might be running a Hummer with the 7L HEMI swapped in, as its still a Hummer being moved but with a smaller fuel tank. Also makes it easier to drive, as theres not 1400 torques going through the wheels.
Wow out of all the cars in the challenge a fucking hummer had the most fuel left.
Wouldn't the best way to do this be doing a burnout at the start line?
I would say to lug the engine hard
+Christopher Wang Fuel doesn't go down while doing burnouts
I saw some of our videos and I love your ideas for race types. Sub incoming !
+FailRace how do I get into one of these events?
