Barefoot Tracks of Whangarei: Taheke Waterfall Track

Located just 15 minutes from town, down Whareora-Pataua Road (turn left after Whareora Hall), this place is another stunning secret location in Whangarei.
This track has unfortunately has been "DOCtered", making the original barefoot tracks hard to find, but there are still some opportunities to barefoot in this small parcel of Northland Forest. Water access to the top of the waterfall is possible, but there is no easy safe way down to the bottom (super super super steep).

Have you thought about getting rid of your shoes and going completely barefoot? It's not as difficult as it might seem and it's just so practical and comfortable.
