    OMG! Yes, am always telling my students - how can I use this to my advantage? And picture what you want to see instead and think - how am I going to get there? Like my neighbor taught her dog to dig on cue so she just points to where she wants the hole dug - everyone is happy. Hope that helps.

    So many podcasts available for just about any issue! ❤ Would love a podcast about senior dogs and loss of hearing and diminishing abilities. We walk about 1.5 hrs daily with sniff time, we play Recallers games daily and work on new Wag Nation tricks. She's on a home prepared diet and has regular vet check ups. How can I maintain quality of life together as she ( we) age and how do I accommodate aging changes optimally? Thank you! 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

    12 years ago I joined your online Recallers class. I remembered that you had a side book on how to be a good learner. I thought it was valuable! I wonder if that is something you could make into a podcast topic. Challenging idea?!

    How do you handle anxious nipping when redirection and alternate behaviors are not working? Loud noises on TV or people leaving the house sends him into a fit of racing around the house, barking and nipping.

    My sheltie lives IYC. However, lately he has helped himself to whatever maybe on the table. Helped himself to laundry bar of soap. Took him to vet for test because he has liver issues. Then chopped on banana skin and all. Items not close to edge. Desperate - any suggestions.

I’m am using a belly band to protect my furniture but I just don’t know how to stop this. He only marks in places where our cat likes to lay. Help Please

      I think Susan did say that some dogs who maybe were rescue dogs may not get along with other dogs and it would be better not to add a dog to that situation. Also it is a miserable household when the two dogs don’t get along…speaking from experience.

      @boulevardiere1623 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Adding my experience, FWIW. My dog (adopted at age 3) gets very attached to people and doesn't care for most other dogs in her personal space. If I brought her "competition" into our home, I'm pretty sure it would lead to resource guarding and even outright fighting. I knew when I adopted her that she needed to be an only dog, and that's OK! She greets other dogs nicely on walks and has a couple of calm, forgiving dog acquaintances in the neighborhood that she just barely tolerates enough to play with occasionally, haha! She has clearly shown me that she prefers people over dogs, and as her forever human, I respect her wishes. I hope that helps answer your question!

      @@teresasombati3339 Oh that’s so so sad ,thank you very much for everybody rescuing dogs and if you feel no other dogs in the household I totally respect and agreed to that but do you think that’s a learned behavior ? Lack of socialization as a puppy or possibly genetically predisposed of or possibly because rescued they’re so emotionally attached to their owners ? I work at a shelter and I seen it both ways. Some dogs are pretty confident when they go to their new home and then I hear back a few weeks later with a problem that’s very similar to what you’re saying
      Thank you for sharing.

      I actually fostered a puppy that was a year old by the time he got adopted and the problem was that my male didn’t care for him but my female loved him. There were a few skirmishes between the males so I just think it was just a dislike issue. They coexisted 95% of the time.

    I have a 2-1/2 year old border collie that is aggressive, especially when she is home or in the fenced yard. She doesn't tolerate strangers well. She was born on a farm and spent her first few weeks in an apartment, where she spent most of her time on the balcony so I know she didn't have a lot of socialization. The aggressiveness worries me. She is my third BC. The other two were not like this. Help!

      Hello and I am not the person that made this video but what I am reading from you and it’s hard to help anyone that I’ve never seen the dog in person but it sounds like the dog is just very fearful
      If you’re worried that the dog would bite someone then I would start socializing it and very calm quiet locations even if you just go there give the dogs a couple of treats play with it and make it a positive experience that could help. What is your plan?

    • @watchmoivies123
      @watchmoivies123 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And also, I guess if you’re really worried and nervous that can make the dog pick up on that maybe you should look for a behaviorist that can help you but be very very careful because a lot of them really don’t know what they’re doing

      @@watchmoivies123 I do have a trainer that I have used in the past. I will try to get here advice. This behaviour just seems to have escalated. She was always fearful, but aggressiveness has increased.

    • @watchmoivies123

      Well, I guess the first thing I would do is to just have some bloodwork done and have her checked over by my vet to make sure nothing‘s going on medically and my eyes and I’m not a veterinarian. The aggression could be escalating either from a medical or she’s getting more stressed, which I’m sure you know all about fight or fight and she just seems to be using the fight respond
      I am hoping you can get this under control so she could live a better life and so can you

    If you could cover dog to dog jealousy (2 intact males) older one try’s to control where the younger one goes, by low growling, staring. The older 6 y/o is also trying to control my 9 y/o females spayed dog. She use to be kinda the head dog, but not since she’s fixed. I try to give boys attention at the same time, equally. Just don’t want the younger male getting paranoid. Thanks
