After al those years i still love this song its a song of the past in my childhood but also of the futere just love it it gives hope in the dark times.
@twofootsheep Thank you so much for posting the music from this game. I've looked everywhere for it. Now to make me completely happy, all I need to get is the music from the main menu of this game... I've looked for it for a while now.
Robert McIntosh Just search for New Horizons Remastered. PiratesAhoy.net are the ones developing, they even launched a demo for people to test it out, but it's still very raw.
Twofootsheep! I LOVE you for this! All I can see is this crap of "World's end acheivements"And such when I searched for this song! looked for it since the game came out and I got it! I'm SO happy! Thanks for making my week!
A Masterpiece of Game-development/desing ! absoloutly brilliant gameplay and felling ... Played this Game when i was 12 Years ! Childhood ! Now i'm 28 ... huuuch !
This theme is so cool. The accordion gives me a lot of peace of mind. I loved this game as a kid but never got much far playing it. Still, it seemed so huge back then. Thank you for the upload.
@Donyvi Message from Romero:“I think what all three of us composers have in common is that we probably used an ancient instrument sample (companies sell pre-recorded bits of ancient instruments playing very old melodic fragments which then I can add orchestral accompaniment and vary the speed of the melody to suit the mood. These fragments come in instrumental catalogs and many soundtrack composers will use bits and pieces of melodies to incorporate into their scores.
This song was also featured in Juuni Kokki (12 Kingdoms). I checked release dates and found that Heroes of Might and Magic IV was also produced in 2002. Though I find this, Pirates of Carribean, version to have more of a relaxing and fun tavern feel to it the 12 Kingdoms version feels cleaner and a bit more "powerful". 08 風駿
D Andersen It seems to be a a coincidence that many games used this. Apparently it's supposed to be a Celtic folk song or some such. Here's the link watch?v=QxXFTTrJXFA
always if i listnen this song im thinking of those good years of playing pirates of the g on xbox now i have a ps3 but its not the same thumbs up for this beautiful theme song .
Might be thinking of another song, but I've been playing a playlist with this song on it. For the months I've stuck to this playlist, it's the first I've heard of this; I recall it was some restriction but glad to hear a pretty great song. Helps mix up the playlist too!
Wrong, HoMM4 came out in 2002 and Pirates in 2003. As far as I know there are currently 3 versions of this song; this, HoMM4 and one from the anime "The Twelve Kingdoms" (which is by far the best version, imo). ALL of these came out around the same time (especially HoMM4 and 12 Kingdoms) and none of them is the "original". I'd sacrifice one of my arms to hear the original version of this song, this is seriously the most beautiful musical piece I've ever heard. Hands down my favourite song.
oh yes i remember this song, and this game... and it's a bethesda game! that explains why it was such a good old game too, but i'm trying to find gameplay videos of it or possibly some way of playing it myself again, i have fond memories of it, sailing the ship and raiding coastal fortresses with my crew and then hunting some cursed treasure with my lady... or something like that it was over a decade ago come on gimme a break :p great game tho!
sometimes i just stay in the tavern ingame just to listen to this song while i enjoy a nice cold bottle o' ale and yes this one WAS used by those who made the series Juuni Kokki
@Donyvi I’m not sure what catalog the little tune came from but I’m sure it’s from the same one that the other composers used as well. I try not to use such pre-recorded fragments due to the fact that lots of other composers will be using the same tool, but when you have deadlines like we have in this industry (i.e., producers needing a 3 minute piece of music within 24 hours, composed, recorded, mixed, mastered, then embedded into the graphics),we use every tool possible in order to have a
it makes me feel at various mythological universes, around a campfire, drinking and looking some exotic girls dancing... traversing the sea... taverns.... adventures in a mystic world..
If you happen to have the pc version of the game, search in your program files/Bethesda folder for music. The complete soundtrack is there and can be played with Winamp. Have fun.
Well "Pirates of the Caribbean" was produced in an cooperation between Disney, Bethesda and Ubisoft. (And Ubisoft bought up the HoMM franchise, claiming the rights of the score.) Therefore using a re-made version in the latter game POTC. A great score for two great games!
This music sounds almost exactly like the Water or Sea music from Heroes of might and magic 4. What is the real title of this song? Or did they just use this song for this game from Heroes 4? By Paul Romero and some others.
Yea, that's almost the same. And I noticed a song from Okami (one of the unreleased prototype songs) what is extremely similar to an other HOMM4 song too. It's not a coincidence I think.
yup! someone emailed Paul Anthony Romero about it and here is what he answered: “I think what all three of us composers have in common is that we probably used an ancient instrument sample (companies sell pre-recorded bits of ancient instruments playing very old melodic fragments which then I can add orchestral accompaniment and vary the speed of the melody to suit the mood. I think the original version of this song is called Fuushun, from The Twelve Kingdoms soundtrack. There's another song on that album, called Ruika, that was used in HOMM4 as well, but not in POTC. Another commenter below mentioned that the melody is an "an old celtic tune that has been around for centuries". Anybody know what's the name of it or have any links?
Boris Tchatalbachev Apparently, the original (which The Twelve Kingdoms, Pirates and Heroes got parts from) is supposedly a Celtic song named Yogitea - Ecume et vague de l'ame. Well, one is the name and the other the.. source/performer? I don't really know which one is which. Here it is anyway :) watch?v=QxXFTTrJXFA
@@DaReaperZ This isn't the original. In fact, its creation is 4 years older than HoMM4. But it's a nice version to listen to, nonetheless. The origin that games' compositions incorporate really seems to be the AMG Celtic Complete from 2001. A collection of instrumental samples on CD. Re-released digitally in 2012. I've read that this collection was originally on vinyl. And I've seen some claims that the source is centuries-old Celtic melodies, so those wouldn't be recorded anywhere. Maybe the sample publisher contacted Irish folk lore musicians way back in the day and they had old sheets for these tunes. Not the original sheets, but copies, of course. The originals would be relics, I'd say.
I prefer the HoMM4 version, but this is nice, thanks. Certainly would've been pleasant to find this music in-game, had I played it. Never been one for movie-based games. The one time I really wanted to play one (Battle for Middle Earth), I never got the chance.

The original is not from heroes. Also look for Fuushun, this soundtrack was also used in an anime. Both 2 games and that anime were being developed at the same time, none stole the track from the other but bought it as a pre-recorded old melodic tune played on ancient instruments
