He won album of the year. I'm glad he said what he felt and added that last verse as its not on the original track.

*It’s songs like this that is what Dave the INCREDIBLE lyricist he is! I’m glad he won album of the year! He’s finally getting recognised in America too... I’m glad that even in a song all about “black” he paid his respects to the victims of the terrorist attack by putting their photos on top of the pianos. He gave Jack a special shout out because he knew Jack! Jack helped try to get Dave’s brother out of prison! So him and his family knew him... Apparently it really upset Dave when Jack was killed. May Jack, Libby and the victims of the Grenfell fire RIP.*

Dave is just 21 years old......Let that sink in. I must say Irish people generally get it when people talk about racist systems or racism. they don't just come out denying it's existence in my experience.

The Slave coast was very much real. It refers to countries in West Africa. From Togo in the north, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Guinea, Gabon and Congo, in particular. A real bleak moment in human history which all the former colonial countries have, as yet, failed to make any atonement for. One day...

daft wod at first I was upset with your comments but I understand people like you more. You are the product of your environment. Unfortunately knowledge of the kind of truths that normally allow greater clarity are kept in books for the few of those who get that far in their pursuit of true knowledge. My mind set has changed so much by reading books and learning from leading academics of various fields as they lay down the real history of humankind, all of it from a objective scientific fact based approach. If you know the truth about evolution of different races or how the British empire became, those who contributed to the industrial revolution or how the Roman Empire operated, you will understand Europe more and the role of ethnicities across the globe better. One thing I would tell you off for is this idea of “go back to your tribe” are you talking to the Walsh or the Irish tribes too? You do not understand world history as you do not understand the history of that word itself. Now given the events of slavery and the formation of various countries as a result of colonialism, which group of people should go back where? Should the English, Irish and Scottish whites from the various countries of Africa, Austrasia or America also go back? These countries have their own people and the whites came and refuse to leave. There are black people in England before some of those colonies were established so really what do we do now? It is obvious that you reaction to Dave’s words were that of someone who was uncomfortable and felt the need to defend yourself. You don’t have to, history is history for a reason but you should make yourself accountable to knowing the truth. I believe his words were suppose to make you think and see that you may not have noticed before or see just how deep the situation is. I will encourage you to listen again this time, if you disagree with the facts he is saying, research and find out the truth about them. That is the power of learning and researching, The British library is a great place to start, google only tells you what others are saying rather what is evidence. I was lucky to discover this by chance at university during my First BSc.
