I do own the Peak Design, and it's really not bad as a bag inside of another, bigger bag. But it's hard to use as a stand alone pouch. That's why I ordered the Alpaka, simply for the option to use it as a sling bag. And to be honest, because of provides cooler color options. 😉
Okay, edit: got my Alpaka Elements Tech Case a few days ago, and I'm.... a bit underwhelmed, to say the least. First one the colour. Normally I'm a sucker for orange, but this one's just too much. I mean, okay, I won't get shot accidentally in the woods when I'm carrying this bag, but... And then it's just too small. It's way smaller than my Bellroy Sling Light, which is jussst big enough to carry my EDC gear, but I wanted something similar with more small compartments inside. It's not too far away in centimeters or inches, but Alpaka doesn't seem to make the most of it. Big disapointment, sorry.
I bought both; kept the PD and returned the Alpaka. PD had better opening, was lighter, held more, and I’ve had great past experiences with PD customer support (easy warranty replacement). But I use the Alpaka Pro Strap with the PD pouch making it a perfect sling - go figure!
Peak Design is the best in my opinion. I have two and bought one for my girlfriend. My suggestions for improvement to be perfect would be dual zippers to open the pouch and his vis interior like the orange on the Alpaka. I have the Alpaka also but it is not in use righT now
Good review. No the Alpaka is not as detailed at the peak design but for me it’s ‘not as messy inside, I just like the longer internal pockets of Alpaka

I really like the Alpaka pro strap do you think that it would work with the Peak Desing pouch? If not, I would probably end up using the Peak Desing although I prefer the Alpaka.
Great comparisson. I am in the market for a tech case that can also be used as a sling. Somehow I am really leaning with the newly released Alpaka Tech Case Max (Sold out). I am lookong to include my Fujifilm X100F, extra battery, card wallet, cellphone, keys and cables, ear pods. Do you think the regular tech case can accommodate those? Or should I also consider the PD Tech pouch? And as you have mentioned, the PD is kinda bulky eventhough its claimed load capacity is around 2L as well. Thank you.

I can throw a lot of stuff in a bag. The point of any organizer is to... well... organize and Peak Design pouch does it miles better. But then I suppose if for some odd reason you need less organization Alpaka isn't bad either. I just don't think it's worth its price tag while there's Peak Design pouch.
The hole that you say is for carrying a pen or something is a pass through for a cable so you can charge your phone in the pocket from a battery inside the pouch. You really need to start watching other reviews or the promotional videos that the companies releases, because that and the stands are basic stuff
The updated alpaka tech pouch has one less divider and quieter zipper pulls and a handle. The strap for sling capability is a nice bonus.

@@theavgjoe The PD sling are very cumbersome and bulky, not to mention tends its user to maximize the volume and would leave my shoulder badly sore.
You can wear Peak Design pouch as a sling as well. Not sure why would anyone want to, but you can do it.
Peak Design has been my choice and I haven't look back.
