  • In this scene future John in 1999 talks to little Johnny and his ma and dad in 1969. John feels a lot of nostalgic here.

I love the use of lighting in these scenes. Jim Caviezel's scenes are normally dismal and gray, while the past is bright and sunny, but when he's talking to his mother, himself, and Gordo, his face is bathed in a golden light, while the rest of the room remains dull and gray.

Unless you're a ham radio guy fond of old tube radios (guilty as charged) you wouldn't know that the warm glow of the tubes and incandescent pilot lights, especially when the covers are off, is part of the charm. We have a saying, that "real radios glow in the dark".

Favorite movie!!! I get chills when I see this movie. Imagine talking to your Dad & saving his life in the past. Think about talking to your mom, friend and self in the past. Andre Braugher’s reactions are priceless. Takes a lot to make me cry but at the end when the Garth Brook’s song comes on, I ball like a baby. Also, the scene where Dennis Quaid and that lady slide out of the warehouse completely destroys me.
