The screaming in public trend needs to stop yesterday. It's not just cringe and disruptive, it's so bad for anyone with ptsd or sensory hypersensitivity. Or what if there's a little old lady there with a heart condition and they keel over from the shock, was that stupid prank worth risking an innocent bystander's life??

My suggestion is wait a few minutes after they stop walk up to them and scream something like "OH WE'RE SCREAMING?!?! IS THIS FUNNY NOW?!?!" That should fix the issue. So, the lady at 23:30 made me furious. I have been a ride operator for my summers, and what she did was completely inappropriate and dangerous. The person on the speaker was yelling at her to get back on the ride and to remain seated. They can only fix the ride if everyone is in their proper safe zone, so a guest's safe zone is in the ride seated. I am willing to bet that she got thrown out of the park for doing this and putting her children at risk. If the ride breaks while you are on it, you must remain seated, or you may cause yourself injuries.

    • @dhi_holo

The only time you should ever leave a ride vehicle mid-ride is if someone is guiding you out who actually works there
I've had it happen a couple times while at different Disney parks, most memorable being the Magic Kingdom (Walt Disney World, Florida) Haunted Mansion, and Disneyland (California)'s Alice in Wonderland dark ride.
Getting to get off the ride and walk through some backstage areas is neat, but it's never something you should do without being told to.
Bonus story because it's the main character subreddit so frick morals (/hj), one time on a tour at WDW, we actually got to go on the Haunted Mansion and skip the queue, and because of how the tour queue skipping works, we actually got on at the exit and went around the section between the exit and loading bay, it's basically just pitch black but it's super cool to get to experience stuff like that just once in life, most other rides you get to go on have the exit like, 3 metres away from the regular loading bay so there's nothing "hidden" to see doing this

    • @craiggo6062
      @craiggo6062 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +124

@@dhi_holo Exactly! You are only able to leave the mid ride if you are led by the operators. I got a funny story on how I had to get evacuated from the ride I worked on a couple summers ago. So I work on a roller coaster and worked the opening shift for the day. The ride itself was already having some troubles but it was on and off. I went to ride it after changing my clothes and got stuck on the ride. They tried to have it keep going a couple times but failed each time, so I had to get evacuated off and be led by my co-workers. I thought it was really amusing.

"Absolutely" came the reply, with her head very high and shoulders well back.
"Deal. Have a happy life." the shopkeeper said, then walked to the door and opened it for her. 'Hyacinth Bucket vanquished' is what came to my mind!
And then on his way back round the counter he asked whether I needed help finding stuff, as though Hyacinth hadn't just banned herself from his shop!

I keep myself calm for the anxiety, I go in, I get out. As for the asthma? It has no effect at all! Oxygen molecules are tiny (talking picometer scale) and can pass through masks easily! As can any CO2 that you're breathing out.

Best not to generalize. I have asthma and severe anxiety, and my pulse ox routinely tanks on masks. What I came here to say is: I think what differentiates you (and others who have valid concerns and issues surrounding wearing masks) from the type of people OP is talking about is the word "Karen" in OP's post. If you're not being rude or intrusive in the way you deal with masks, you're not a Karen for having asthma and anxiety. That's my takeaway from the original comment, but it is good to point it out for those who may interpret that as "all people who do this are [this]". As a fellow person who hated masks and has asthma and anxiety but was able to tolerate it more, I hope you are able to be more mask-free than before. 😌

I was the laboratory manager of an independent lab during the pandemic and we did both sample collection and testing. For people that wouldn't wear masks, including for anxiety reasons, we would come outside and take the sample with them in their car through the window. I worked with a number of patients about ways to wear masks that can reduce anxiety (like different strap configurations or decorating the mask so it doesn't appear so medical).
That woman did not strike me as having anxiety around masks. She just didn't want to wear one because freedom or whatever.

@@jasonking7570 No, you are correct. It's called the Bystander Effect.
It's often cited as a reason for the death of Kitty Genovese.
But, here's the Dark Secret about Kitty Genovese's death: It was due to _systemic homophobia._ Kitty was lesbian. Most of her neighbors were gay men or lesbians. And this was before Stonewall.
When neighbors heard Kitty's screams, _many did call 911._ But, they had to be anonymous about it. Someone even went outside to chase off Kitty's attacker and administer first aid while waiting for the ambulance. But, they couldn't admit to it afterwards, because that would've focused attention on them. And in the days before Stonewall, getting attention could get you outed, which _would_ get you fired, thrown out of your apartment, or killed.
So, when The Press showed up, asking questions and shoving microphones in people's faces, they were all terrified of being outed. There's a famous quote of one guy, trying to escape from the newsman, saying, "I … I … didn't wanna get involved." What he would have said, were this post-Stonewall, was, "I'm a big old queer; if I call the cops, they'd arrest _me,_ not help Kitty. And they'dve arrested Kitty for being a lesbian. But you're not gonna report that, oh no, are you? That's a truth you and your viewers can't handle. So why don't you get out of my face and forget we ever had this conversation."

I saw the updates with the dude who dealt with the crazy girl in pink at 36:44
I don't remember exactly if they got evicted or something but they ended up leaving. A police investigation did open up and he talked to his landlord about it, so it likely got resolved that way. The girl was trying to paint the neighbor as a creep and claiming he was stalking and harassing her, which was obviously frabricated to help her case. But she really just wanted to mess with the guy and cause chaos. The boyfriend clearly also dealt with stuff from her and was afraid to speak up against her, which is why he was complacent. But at the end the neighbor does talk to the boyfriend and tells him that he thinks he deserves better, I think he was really thinking about leaving her.
    Honestly, as he should.

It's really unfortunate that our society tends to overlook partner abuse when the victim is a man. While I won't excuse the guy for being complicit in his girlfriend's behavior, I certainly hope he finds a way to escape that obviously abusive relationship. If she reacts this way with total strangers, I can't even imagine the nightmare his everyday life may be. For anyone who may have trouble empathizing because "they could just leave," it really isn't as simple as that. These types of abusers are smarter than they appear, and the mental traps they can put you in to make you think that they are the only ones who will ever love you can only truly be understood when you experience it yourself. It isn't about mental fortitude or strength, it's about them understanding where you're weak and where your mental pressure points are, and everyone has those points. The only real way to avoid this stuff is to understand the signs and know yourself enough to know what your own weaknesses are, and to understand that you are capable of being manipulated just like everyone else.

If ever he did unfortunately get assaulted, him yelling about it would do nothing. Nobody pays attention to him, he's off bar property when he does it so they won't probably do anything, and it's upsetting since male victims are hardly believed as is. It makes me sad that either he thinks it's funny or needs attention that desperately :(

24:45 As someone who deals with both Anxiety Attacks and Panic Attacks, I know wearing a cloth mask can make an already occurring panic attack feel subjectively more uncomfortable, and that for some people, Anxiety Attacks and Panic Attacks can be triggered by otherwise mundane things. HOWEVER, this does not justify this woman's behavior for multiple reasons. Firstly, setting aside all the political back and forth about masks, a private establishment requiring any and all patrons to wear masks is a dress code, not discrimination. Secondly, giving the woman the benefit of the doubt that she genuinely has an anxiety disorder and is genuinely triggered by wearing a mask to the point she cannot cope with wearing a mask for a few minutes, it is not the responsibility of the store to bend it's own rules around her for that, it is on her to take her business elsewhere. Thirdly, while refusing service to someone not following a dress code is not a crime, abusing 911 emergency services to harass someone is absolutely a crime.

34:11 Yeah, this is kinda good information. There are a lot of children drownings in pools just because a child cant swim, and they just walk into the deep end. My dad one time had a like, 3yo kid walk up to him and touch his leg. Because he was the only one tall enough for the kid to actually reach from that deep.
Another time, I was doing something similar to the guy in the vid. Just floating on the surface, and looking at the pretty reflections off the bottom of the pool. The lifeguard gave me a poke, because he was scared I had actually drowned whilst he was on duty. I could see some terror in his eyes.
Point is, drownings happen a lot easier than people might believe, but intentionally playing dead isn't going to bring any light to that message. You'll scare everyone more by doing so.

Yep, that's the reason you can, and often will, be kicked out of pools for pretending to be in distress. It's a major distraction and could cause guards to miss something else. I only ever had to kick a few people out for it, but I had to warn dozens of people to stop. It was actually a "One warning and you're out" policy because of the danger it posed to other swimmers.

Once I saved a 10 year old kid that just jumped in the deep part of a pool at a camping, while he couldn’t swim. He couldn’t explain why he jumped, while he didn’t know how deep it was. He was lucky I was in that pool at that moment, there was nobody else.
      Kids do strange stuff.

One time a lifeguard told me to stop "pretending i cant swim" when i was literally struggling to stay above water😭 i was usually okay in the deep end but they suddenly turned on the wave machine, like MAX POWER, and i didnt have time to get out. Luckily the guard turned it down and helped me out lol

People... both guys or girls, couples or singles.... being weird at the gym will never not make me uncomfortable.
Its hard enough to watch it on screen, its even worse when I see it in person. I'm just there to work out please let me focus, get though it, and leave without pulling out your phone and recording yourself and everyone else.

Especially in the locker room! I'm guilty of taking the occasional selfie in the locker room, but I'm careful to do it when no one else is in there. Last week, a couple of girls/women (teens or early 20s) were taking pictures of themselves and one another near me while I was changing. It made me so uncomfortable.

in my country, it's common to live in condominiums rather than suburbs, and the shared gym is always empty. you always see the same people using it at the same time according to their schedules, but like, it wont go above 3-4 using it at the same time. in a space like this, i see no problem recording yourself. not only the space is empty, but in a way youre not even outside your house, since it's still inside the condominium.
in public gyms though?? i really have to question everything. the amount of hoops you have to jump through in my country to find yourself in a populated gym, and youre gonna complain that there are other people using the space as intended because you want to NOT do that?? deranged.

From what I understand with the Disneyland Paris It’s A Small World, the ride had stopped, and had been stopped for a while. The mother then decided to disregard the speaker warning saying stay in your seats. She got out of the boat and self-evaced her kids onto attraction part. From what I found out she was BOLOd for a significant amount of time.
