I love geckos so much their faces look so kind yet they still seem to only have three braincells.
I have 2 leopard geckos and they bite at their own poop multiple times when I remove it from their gages. Great reptiles but like you said only have 3 braincells. Though they do have slight personalities but not as distinguished as other reptiles like a bearded dragon. One of mine is more outgoing and food oriented than the other.

Before anybody comments about it (because somebody always has shit to say) the gecko at 3:33 does not have mouth rot. That is pigmentation, and called a paradox spot. It is not harmful. It is just a random little funny thing that happens to pretty much all animals. Think of it like a large freckle.
Basically, a patch of scales that got more melanin then the rest. Correct?

For those curious, the gecko waving its tail at 6:50 is scared. Waving their tail in the air like that is a defense mechanism that they use when they feel threatened. Leopard geckos have the ability to drop their tail so when they are under attack, they wave their tail in the air in hopes that the predator will grab onto their tail which they can quickly detach and thus escape.
My gecko NEVER does that. i wonder what the owner was doing 🫤

my leopard gecko sadly died a couple weeks ago which very much sucks and this came on my recommended and made me chuckle, it was quite comforting to see these

@@cordeliacox2453 my gecko is the opposite, I don’t even need to put a lid on my tank, and she is totally cool with handling (she also sometimes bites my finger Bc she thinks it’s a worm)
Same,my gecko name conor always wanted to run when i am holding him.Once he run from my hand and lost for a week. And then he came back again when I slept he climbed on my feet. Maybe he hungry and asked for food or was bullied by other wild geckos lol🤣😂.So glad he came back

3:50 For people who might be concerned: loose substrate is very safe and natural for leopard geckos. This is probably a soil mix. When used with appropriate overhead heating like a halogen basking lamp or deep heat projector, it is both safe and very stimulating for your pet.
Things to avoid when making your soil mix:
-perlite (this is actually carcinogenic to inhale, as it is made of microsilicate particles)
-peat moss (this is incredibly environmentally unfriendly)
-calcium sand (calcium sand is an eye, lung, and skin irritant)
Things you can add:
-fertilizer-free organic topsoil
-playsand or volcanic sand (be sure to rinse your sand, as it can also contain microsilicates!)
-crushed quarry rock
-bentonite clay
-sphagnum moss
-coco coir, eco earth, coco fiber (this is NOT a replacement for soil in a bioactive setup and is very dusty when dry, but can make a good component for humid areas)

The fact that my crested gecko died and we looked everywhere in the cage and digger in the dirt and looked through the leaves and he was missing for 2 months and I found him decayed in his cage made me freeze and cry and I was gonna get a leopard gecko but I was proud to have my crested gecko he was just a baby I’ll never forget you Gary 😭

I’m getting a gecko and this video just brought so much more joy into my day and I want my heck early know!
I got so traumatized by common house geckos (the transparent ones) accidents growing up, that now I worry for every geckos see, they look so fragile, they loose their skin, their tail, they look like helpless fragile little flesh bags that I want to keep as far as possible but they’re also cute and I want to protect them ? …but from a very long distance.
Me and my lizard watches these while he eats his dinner and powder! ;D

Having the LED lights right by your leopard gecko can mess up their aim for food, and they are better at hunting in the dark. So when feeding your leopard gecko, try to turn off the lights or have the LED lights off. Having light right in their face can seriously hurt their eyesight. Please be more careful next time and you won’t get bit. It wasn’t the gecko’s fault, as you have LED lights on while trying to feed, and the gecko might have mistaken you arm for a worm. So no, it isn’t the gecko’s fault.

These give me joy because a few years ago my leopard gecko died from skinny tail disease and I almost cried. Watching this thinking about her she was so sweet and I only had her for about half a year before she died
The one near 5:43 before the jello one had eyelashes and then when I looked down on my screen I realized that that thing was so cute to the point where I wanted to jump inside of that screen and hug it to death:) *actually gets my gecko and hugs it :3*

It’s a leopard gecko you could buy one online or form a local reptile shop. Petco and petsmart do have them but DO NOT buy from them
it’s a super snow leopard gecko. They tend to be more inbred than other morphs so watch out.
