What a coincidence. It's my 8 month anniversary. Here is what I've learned. 1 If your vtx is overheating don't take off in hopes of the air cooling it off. 2 Don't fly far away and then crash.

@@serenestateofbeing1062 Some vtxs probably will be fine. I've had bad luck with the video going out twice so now I let it cool first. It only gets that way (overheat) if you spend too much time goofing around (like in settings menus) before you fly. Which is something you do when you are new.
Rule 1 use analog Vtx .
Exactly, don't just take off. Full send it so it cools right away ;P

I’m coming up on 15 years of FPV adventures. I built my first quad in 2009. I four wheeled to the top of a mountain yesterday with my dog and flew all afternoon . Walksnail and a 32” HD TV in the back of the truck has been my setup lately. Love this shit … never going to grow up!

Yo Bot! I started watching your vids again after hella years. You're the only fpv guy I watch. Me, I started doing fpv about 7 years ago, so I remember a lot of this. I was a motovlogger back then, but I started a fpv channel cuz I got sick of the drama in the moto community. Now, I'm back on my main channel which is now all about camera drones and got my Part 107. I haven't flown fpv in ages, so I watch you and reminisce. You make me wanna dust off my gear again. Your channel is probably the one FPV channel I followed the entire time - I just started FPV a few months earlier and I subbed because you seemed to be an original character and an honest person❣️... suddenly you started popping up in all the podcasts and regular FPV content I consumed religiously in my first 6 years of my FPV journey so I definitely started to develop a para social relationship at that point 😅. I honestly skipped the flying part in your edits for the first years - but that changed over time, now I enjoy the full show. After all the years, you are still a person I enjoy seeing every week, thanks for sharing!

Hey, knowing that Trappy did that for you makes me feel even better about choosing to use TBS products such as the Mambo and Tracer, etc... My first VTX was an analog TBS unit (can't remember the model). When I first starting flying in I felt that the TBS products were some of if not the very best on the market.
And for what it is worth, I have a set of your 2207 Grinder motors, very solid!

Appreciate it. Also, I love that you used the word 'cyberpunk' to describe it (as in the 80s born genre; not the misinterpreted aesthetics) as that was one of the attractions to FPV for me too. I pretty much stopped flying. And pretty much stopped watching fpv content. No drama, just found new hobbies. But I still watch your videos pretty constantly. Cause they're good. You're real. And a totally different type than everything else in my life which is healthy for me.

You’re the shit man! I remember seeing the first couple videos you made and hearing all the hate, but you stuck with it. A lot has changed over the years. I’ve been in and out of the hobby since Horizon Hobby came out with the Blade Conspiracy 220. Now I have a fleet of older quads on analog and running Spektrum protocol. Now watching you guys all fly and hang out has brought me back to the hobby again. Keep up the content man. You’re a true inspiration and a bad ass!
That DIY QAV250 was my first FPV build too. The power distro board was shorted and I had to message the vendor to send me a replacement, which was the reason why that kit had to many bad reviews on Amazon.
Taking all the FPV stuff aside, I have a confession to make ! You have a really great taste for music ! Seriously!
I remember meeting you a few times over the years when I was really active in fpv. After COVID and all the new rules I didn't have time to dedicate and the crew I flew with weren't often available. I literally still have all my drone stuff just waiting for me. Trying to make a fun show in Coffee and Drones was the best time ever. When I saw you were working with NHRL on combat robotics, I was legit smiling from ear to ear. I've been pushing hard and having a ton of fun in that space. If you ever want to come to a robot event in the Tennessee/Georgia/Florida etc areas let me know, you've got a place to hang out and I'll be happy to chauffeur you around as needed. It'll be a blast!

Very inspirational video. I'm happy you are in a better position in life due to FPV and the awesome community! Been watching most of your videos and I really like the down to earth videos. Had been nice to join in at the right time, but with the rules and all messing up the joy and fun of it to try to control the hobby. (I know it is the few that ruined it, but still).

Recently found your channel. You have great content. I was huge into FPV before all the regulations hit hard. Had a great run at it. Interacted a ton on fpvlab forums (I guess that's gone now...). I remember Trappy and the crew at TBS were the guys pushing the cutting edge of the scene - and living up to their names. I met Chris at Ritewing a few times and that guy hooked me up with some Zypher 2's and and XL which I am grateful for! I'm glad Trappy took care of you. Keep doing what you do, I'm enjoying the content! I still have a few old videos from my days in the hobby on my channel from 11 years ago!

It’s a cool thing to do, I’m a year in, I fly junk and still analog but I enjoy it. I’m learning a lot, crashing a lot and fixing a lot, but slowly collecting parts for a decent drone. It’ll still be analog but I’m ok with that. Watching you guys fly and build really has kept me flying. I wouldn’t have been able to build if it wasn’t for the community.

One of the things I like most about your videos is your philosophy. If you made a Budgeting with Botgrinder video where you just talk about how you survive and stay happy on $500/month, I would totally watch that, even if it had nothing to do with FPV.
you have to take rent out of the equation, i was lucky enough to find a fixer upper for 18k and a friend to loan me the money. once i was free of paying rent and having that worry over my head my life got dramatically better.
this might be my favorite upload so far, inspiring and really made me think about alcohol... glad to have been along for the ride since the OG days man

Great video. I'm clean 5 years with FPV keeping my mind busy. Asked someone for help tuning a quad a couple weeks ago, he asked me why I did not have RPM filtering on. I said what's that? He looked at me like I had 4 heads! Lmao.

This was like going down the last 6 or 7 years. I found Bot early, about a year after he started making videos. I remember buying his V1 motors and flipping out when they came, they looked sooo good. I remember all of these little mile stones and they kinda match up with mine. This was a fun walk down memory lane.
