In high school there was a guy on the football team who lived on my street. He looked like the all-American jock kid. We used to talk if we happened to be hanging outside at the same time. I think he sensed I was gay and one day told me I should come by at night into his house through the basement door where he worked out. I started going over a few times a week and watching him lift and then I would blow him. He never would even say hi to me if he saw me in school. Made me realize no guy is completely straight. He’s married with kids now.

You are so right. I have read that 2 - 10% of the population is gay. Well that's quite a range. So there are varying degrees of gay behavior. Some are curious, some are experimenting, watching gay porn or whatever, some are hooking up but not into a fully gay relationship. Same goes for those who are straight. Some fully committed, some just hookup for fun. Many people are somewhere in between. And the difference becomes apparent depending on where you live and how open society is to differing sexual attitudes. What you are describing is not surprising. I think the internet helps people to reveal their true selves as long as they feel they are in a safe environment to discuss personal feelings.

It's all true. I've lost count on 'married men' who only told me they would have done things with me, had I asked ... but now that they're married ... Makes me crazy. And it's kinda cruel, because they KNEW who I was and I would have been down, but being respectful of them being 'straight', I never made the moves, they were obviously expecting me to make. My never ending story is develloping a crush on somewhat younger guys who act straight, but come out of the closet a few years after I have seen them for the last time or on guys who actually are straight.
Something that might be (part of) the cause for this is that I'm on the autism spectrum (I'm not picking up social cues very fast) and it's in my character to never make the first move. The result of all this: I've been single my whole life, except for one girl I was "dating" in primary school. There were actually two girls I was friends with and one day my whole class made me choose between the two. Because I didn't know who to pick, or actually I didn't want to pick and because of peer pressure I ended up making both girls cry... How? I picked the girl who I liked the most first, the other started to cry (obviously). I felt sad because she cried and other kids said I should have picked her. So I did, the girl I chose first now started crying too. (what did I expect?) Now that they were both crying there was balance again and I was able to decide to go with my first choice after all. It was pretty much my worst day in primary school. 😅
In secondary school (at the age of 13) I started to realise I liked guys more than I liked girls. But it took me 5 more years to be confident enough to try to secretly date a guy. After that first date I knew for sure that I was gay (although this date didn't get a sequel), but I didn't dare to come out until I was 19. Not that I had much of a choice, because a gay classmate of my younger brother had seen my profile on a gay youth dating website. He literally told me this at the dinner table with my parents there. I had told my mom a few months before that I had these feelings, but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to tell anyone else yet. Luckily everyone in my family accepted it.

Everyone is on a spectrum somewhere. We can't expect immature boys to fully understand themselves, so how they behave in high school may not be a reflection of who they really are. One of my best friends recently told me that he loves me after hanging out weekly for 14 years. I assumed he meant like a brother, until he told me that he would rather have a sexual relationship with me than risk losing me from his life. All this after I told him that I'd met someone I had a crush on. Maybe the pandemic is making people crazy.....lol.

    Hi Richie,
I just discovered your channel and this video jumped off the screen because this is a subject in which I am very informed. First, I owned a psychiatric hospital for 12 years, at the ripe age of only 22. It's a complicated story but the deal literally fell in my lap. Four doctors came to me and asked if I could put the deal together. Long story short, I had the permits, building and working capital financing committed in three weeks. The doctors gave me 51% to staff it and operate it. There were some patients on the verge of nervous breakdowns because they had a wife and kids, then realized they were gay in the military. The question was to stay married and miserable or negotiate joint custody of the kids and divorce. I told my board and psychiatrists I was gay. Here's why. I came from an affluent family which gave me the funds to visit cities with gay culture. By the time I was 20, I sincerely, thought I was born lucky. Decades later, I still feel that way. The doctors at our hospital asked me to meet with some of our patients who were having a difficult time dealing with their wife, parents and what to tell kids. I tried to determine what the patient's worst demons were before the first and only meeting. Sometimes I saw a lift in their spirits, other times not. The doctors made all decisions about therapy. Psychiatrists are not in the business of giving patients advice.
I think the point I want to make here is how fortunate those of us are who knew our sensuality at an early age. I can't imagine making this kind of mistake, trying to reverse course after marriage and children.
I want to tell everyone what my board of psychiatrists said to my query, "should I tell my parents." The answer was unanimous. They said only if you think they can handle the information. That was easy. A resounding no is what I told all of them. In the 1980s the American Psychiatric Association told all of its member psychiatrists what my board had told me. Tell the patient to make a list of family and close friends. Then write yes or no as to each person's ability to deal with the news. If parents or close family can't keep this kind of information quiet, then it's probably no across the board.
As to the statement that most men are a little bit gay, I have to agree. However, some work overtime to hide that. Others play that role with select friends and lovers. Others, very unfortunately live tortured lives, hating themselves for whom they are. Most of this group never seek professional therapy for the simple fact they can't make the admission, not to themselves, not even to a therapist, for fear, paranoia in reality, that the therapist will reveal their secret.
Throughout my life I have told this explanation to both men and women with open minds. In nature, the male is the most beautiful of every species. This is how I feel about good looking men and men with exceptional personalities and character. Most people have never considered this concept. This has been omnipresent in my mind since about age twelve.

This "pretty privilege" concept proves itself reality, daily.
I hadn't the clichéd teenager life. Got drunk and smoke occasionally, at best.
I'm introverted, never found anyone interesting enough to form a bond, never was invited to a classy party - or any party, never had any real friends (still a reality), etc. I value my dogs more than most of mankind.
Sometimes, I watch movies like Call Me By Your Name, Lost and Delirious, and wonder if I'll ever live anything closer to the life I truly desire. Currently, I'm surviving, not living. Everything seems to be increasingly more pathetic, the more time spent alone doing the hobbies once appreciated.
I'm in love with someone, my second degree cousin.
He doesn't know, of course, but, he corresponds my feelings. So, he has an idea.
His father noticed my "odd" behavior with him and is attempting to separate us. Something I will not allow.
When the time comes, he will be mine, despite his worthless attempts, if he chooses to.
I may not the best in the looks, but, I'm not the worst, and he accepted me, being the angel that he is.
A solid relationship isn't based on appearances only, but, they do matter.
He's a prince, behaves as one, smells accordingly, is intelligent, has a delicate personality and a delicate voice, I love him.
How can I allow anyone to interfere? Impossible.
After so many years of solitude, The Creator has sent one of his angels to rescue me from my own darkness. I cannot refuse to live, at last.
I'm ready to unlive any obstacle in our path. His father tried to run over him with their car, he doesn't love him.

First off I'm going to borrow a phrase from one of your other viewers, "sexuality is on a spectrum". There are few people who are 100% Gay. You might also admit to yourself that you're handsome and in GREAT shape. You are also pretty accepting about your sexuality. It could be that your friends want some of the things you've got and in particular your self confidence and acceptance.

I know I would have. After I finally accepted myself as gay in my mid 20s, I looked back over numerous episodes in my younger life and realized I was being flirted with or having overtures made that I was either too naive to realize or too scared to act upon. This included in some really direct situations including beaches, steamrooms, saunas and showers. But the overtures were always vague enough to be dismissable.

i don't agree that 'every guy is a little gay' at all - fully straight guys do exist and we shouldn't disrespect that or try to 'convert them'. That said i think especially now more guys are open to experimenting and trying some thing out - also guys these days are much more open to commenting to a guy and saying things like 'great body' or 'see you're packing' but it doesn't mean they are looking to hook up, they're just a lot more open (and sometimes just out to tease the gay man ;-) ) As for the older married guy looking for something- for those of us of a certain age there was a lot of us who had a lot of pressure on us to confirm and marry, i didn't marry but i can understand why it happened, and after having kids, marriages etc these guys get to a point when they can't hide their feelings/needs any more - so i think a lot of those older guys may have been gay all along just finding outlets for it now? And with much younger guys, even though in the western world things are more open and free, there are a lot of guys who are still scared to come out and be openly gay for lots of reasons - ive seen that in my own family where a young nephew who knew i was gay had met partners of mine and seen i was completely accepted by the family struggled still to come out - and i've met guys on the various apps who are like that too, just a bit scared even in this day and age to accept who they are and who struggled with that. All i'm saying is that there are many reasons why people you may feel are 'straight' may not be and just wanting to experiment.

    • @jamescarrington5521
      @jamescarrington5521 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I disagree. Not all gay guys want to "convert" a straight guy; I'm gay as well, and I have NEVER tried to "convert" ANY straight guy, nor have I ever fantasized about it, let alone even wanted to do it.
With that said, I have LOST COUNT of the straight, mostly married guys who have tried to get me to blow them, rail them, etc., on the down low, of course. Once, I even had a female friend, who was heavily pregnant at the time, and her husband, ask me if I would "take care" of him sexually until she was ready to resume relations; I promply declined.
I've just reached middle age and I am completely CONVINCED, now more than ever, that ALL guys are bi-curious, and MOST....actually HAVE....played with another guy in some sexual way, whether you want to believe it or not; it's TRUE. Most guys ARE open to it, because most guys are way more horny than the average woman, and conversely, I'm gay, and I've never wanted, nor pursued, ANY straight guy.

  • @hopelessblromantic8069
    @hopelessblromantic8069 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

It would be impossible to confirm without some sort of study of a cross-section of "straight" guys (there probably are some studies), but my guess is the spectrum of gay-bi-straight, and while being curious they are not comfortable crossing a line that they don't need to cross. If you can be in a straight relationship it's a lot easier than being with someone you might only be curious about. I also think it's not as simple as a single line between gay and straight, but more multi-dimensional.
My experience as a gay man stems from how I feel about who I'm attracted to, vs the ability to actually be with a woman (which I have). The equipment works with a woman but it just doesn't feel right, where as I know gay guys who can't even get it up with a woman. That's probably also why you hear about guys who can have gay sex but have no inclination toward being in a relationship with a guy.
All that to say, I think you are right in a way, that most guys may have at least a little attraction to other guys, but would likely never act on it - probably mostly due to social taboos.

It's the kind of thing straight guys would find funny because they don't have the same kind of experiences as gay men or feelings attached to these things. I doubt there was anything sexual in it. I think if it was some closeted gay/bi guy he probably wouldn't have been so brazen about posting the pic and showing that he'd been looking him up. Sometimes I think people can have a tendency to project and look more deeply into something when there's a lot of emotion for them attached to it, where it not a big deal to the other person or just seen as a joke. straight friends(women or men) of the same sex would kiss each other, whether it be brotherly or sisterly love of even jokingly and there would be no sexual feelings attached to it. When you project your own thoughts and feelings onto another person you can literally think you are seeing things or believe they are feeling things that aren't really there, it's your own projected feelings. When I hear stories from gay guys about these profound experiences with straight crushes I can't help but think that I doubt it was seen as much of an experience at all by straight guys. They are probably going to have the most profound experiences with people they were more impacted by like someone they were deeply attracted to like the opposite sex(if they really are straight at least) straight guys are just as much attracted to women as gay men are to men. Im sure it's the same for gay guys if they have ever had a female fall for them.
I think we all have probably been guilty at some point in throwing out passing comments or jokes that might have affected or meant more to a person than we ever realised.
I watched an interview on you tube the other day where a gay man was interviewing his first straight crush. Basically they had become best friends in collage and really connected and the gay guy over the course of about 8 months fell deeply in love and thought that it was reciprocated and they were going to spend the rest of their lives together. Basically the straight guy didn't see it like that at all and liked him a lot but only as a friend. The gay guy had just read the whole situation wrong which is an example of him projecting his own feelings and experience onto his friend. I think the gay guys channel is called Brian Terada and you can watch it there.

Since you enjoy stories from older guys, I have one for you, along these lines:
This is ancient history! This happened many, many decades ago, when I was in junior high school, when I was age 12. It took place so long ago, pre-Stonewall Riot, that I did not dare to admit even to myself that I was gay. So persecuted were we...we never came out to anybody, even to ourselves, lest we risk the consequences of being sent to a mental hospital, or jail...and this was in NYC, if you can believe it! Now that I've set the scene...
I was bullied in JHS, mostly by jock types, who would call me a queer and a faggot. They would often beat me up, and wipe the school yard with me. They had me pegged before I could admit to myself who I was. There was one jock in particular, a very handsome Italian American boy...think Fonzie from "Happy Days", if you know that show...and he always had a pretty girl on his arm.
One day, in art class, we had to share a table. (These was very big tables, on which could be spread canvases. Only 2 people could share a table, and they were well-spaced throughout the large classroom.) Anyway, he said to me, "Come here, I want to show you something". So I got up, walked around the table, and there was his gigantic eggplant, in all its glory! I started to shake, and was probably turning purple. He grabbed my wrist, and said, "Shut up, don't say anything!", so I obeyed. Then he asked me if I liked it. I could only nod my head. Then he said, "Next time in gym, come find me in the locker room. I'll be happy to show it to you anytime." I could only nod again, and slinked back to my seat.
Needless to say, I never took him up on his offer.
P.S. I came out in 1971at age 20, which was a very bold thing to do in the early '70s, and I've been true to myself ever since then.

Being gay, unfortunately, opposed to popular knowledge not all of gay life is about SEX. THAT IS THE WAY IT IS TODAY. That is not the way it was before (pre-Stonewall). We were all extremely isolated from each other.
Every-body needs love and affection male and/or female but not necessarily sex. Most guys are scared and conditioned to think showing affection to a man (e.g. dad) is sort of a bad thing or sick. Remember it is nature not nurture, no you are not weird, but you need to appreciate and understand your unaffected condition.
So go on give him a hug and kiss he wants it needs it, and there it is, evidence of a sick society. Be careful, do it honestly, and be real!
    Good luck!
Yes, that story about a guy being curious is standard, ...can remember when, but at that time it was much more cruel and abusive. San-tech.

However, among them str8 are those who are just insecure about themselves they lash out over something that doesn’t affect them. Makes me wonder. Some of the meaner ones where on the level of homophobia and violent. I almost stabbed one classmate who really got on my nerves.
Fortunately for me, not one of these guys that bullied me even tried to make a move on the DL especially the ones I thought were attractive. Never kept contact either because why would I!
The guy I supposedly lost my virginity to at 15 was str8 and it’s one of my regrets. At 34 I might as well be a virgin still since I haven’t messed around with anyone since.
