Here's my final ranking of the Spring 2023 anime openings! What an amazing season for openings! It was so hard ranking the top 20 but I'm happy with what I ended up with. When hell's paradise's theme first came out on, i listened to it like 20 times in the span of a single day. Im a milennium parade fan, and sheena ringo's voice is just 🤌! Truly a masterpiece
I've never heard of millennium parade until that opening, and I did the same thing you did. I didn't think it'd get overtaken as the best opening this season but the Demon Slayer and Oshi no Ko openings made me waver. All amazing songs but WORK is unreal how it sounds.

I know it's not a great anime but Isekai Cheat Skill's OP is a banger for me at least. Definitely on my top 5 alongside Oshi no Ko, Hell's Paradise, Demon Slayer and Witch from Mercury.
From the 21st place, the openings are really good. This season serves in terms of quality. The top 11 is top tier quality. My top : 1) Oshi no ko 2) Demon Slayer 3rd season 3) Tonikaku Kawaii 2nd season 4) Mobile Suit Gundam : Witch from mercury 2nd season 5) Yuusha ga Shinda!

Pretty based opinions. Personally, I just really love Oshi no Ko's opening YOASOBI's Idol. I'm biased since I'm a fan of the series itself but the song certainly deserves its place when the lyrics and melody are brought into context. It's also a certified banger. The ending QUEEN BEE's Mephisto is also a bop honestly. As expected of a series about music(partly), everything is so high quality. Of course, a lot of the openings on here are also so good but Idol just takes the crown for me.

Popular anime take up the top spots like usual, even though they're not the best openings (Still hella up there, all in top 5 are easy top 10 anyway. And some stay in top 5) 1. Kanojo ga Koushaku-tei ni Itta Riyuu (put some mfing respect on MindaRyn's name) 2. Skip to Loafer (Banger, and the animation flow is god tier) 3. Ousama Ranking op 3 (It's People 1, do I need to say more?) 4. Tengoku Daimakyou (No opening is beating 0:20 breakdown) 5. Mashle (C'mon, gives early 00'2 vibes whilst also being new, and pretty damn unique compared to the rest)

To be honest. I don't think that Hell's Paradise's opening deserves to be number one. I mean it is a cool opening, but it isn't that cool. Fo me I think that Vinland Saga and Heavenly Delusion's opening deserves to be number one more than it.

I see that Gyakuten Geki is not getting some love here. Once I first that song, I immediately downloaded it, always listened to it every morning going to work, during work, after work, and before I sleep.
I feel like magical girl destroyers should be way higher than it already is. I mean it is some of the most batshit insane openings I have seen in a while not only in terms of visuals but the song as well.
Animation and visual is really good but the song isn’t that good compared to top ops this season in my opinion 🙃 Good animation and visual ≠ good music 🗿
@@Battler_Ushiromiya I do get what you mean. The song isn't for everyone but I do think it compliments the chaotic visuals of the opening (especially near the end). Which I think is the reason for me to rate it higher. Sometimes it just needs good visuals to make the song work.
Yes, i really liked It more than first top 10 op, they are just typical japaness music, nothing special for me. While Magical destroyers kinda close to my music preferences so this was easy to pick top 1 anime op for this year.

My three favorite openings took top 5 spots in the Hell's Paradise, Oshi no Ko, and Demon Slayer openings. This season was supremely top heavy with openings. Also loved the Dead Mount Death Play opening too, another banger. Awesome.
I don't have a lot of time after starting work so I only watch 1-3 anime to its end during a season which works because I can focus on the high quality/super fun stuff and put the run of the mill stuff in backlog, but this season is crazy across the board. There are top tiers shows across various genre and the perfect balance of returning greats and hit new shows.
I seem to have a very different taste in anime openings compared to most people here I guess, for me the Vinland Saga and Hells Paradise openings are nowhere near top 10, especially not top 3 , maybe in the 20s-30s at best, insta skip openings
man... people really slept on I got cheat skill on another world opening... I mean... yeah It's normal overpowered isekai, maybe? but that opening song is banger! It's the best opening to me.
