Yes, mine too, and that's the last time I think I heard it, was in the '60s on the radio.🤔😊 The title was always hard for me to remember later on through the years, but then a few days ago I remembered that Brazil 66 had made the version of this song that I had heard back in the '60s, I looked up Brazil 66 on YT, so when I saw the title, then I remembered, "yes, that's it" so here I Am.😄
As a kid, I remember this song playing on the radio - on Thanksgiving morning 1968 as I was dressing to go out and play in the snow. Funny how music can bring back a snapshot in time.... when little else can.
I know this song has been covered many times before and here it is not the song nor the lyrics but the melody and ethereal voices. Whenever I hear this I feel like in heaven.
This was always the version I loved best probably because I was a huge fan of Sergio Mendes. This version was/is beautiful and always resonates with me. ♥️♥️🎶🎶♥️♥️
Ahh yes ! I remember Scarborough Fair when we lived in Conway Florida. As a junior at Colonial High. My sister Emmy and I cruising around Orlando pondering our future in the late 60s. Buying Peter Max Posters and incense at the Infinite Mushroom boutique. And stopping for a shake at Steak N Shake. Vietnam was our focus. Blessings to you and your family and have a merry Christmas 🎄🎁
I just read about his death on the C.B.S. NEWS APP . I am so sorry to read of his passing . The music world has lost a great musician , and composer . I remember him from his days with the Brazil 66 . Him and his group were an Awesome talent . I am truly sad . May his spirit forever Rest In Peace .
Born in 2001, but never a stranger to good music. Seeing all of your comments still makes me question whether or not my generation really is the best or not. Anyway, I was introduced to this one after watching the movie Heavy Traffic. Perfect movie to show what a hard life in the late 60’s early 70s looked like
Honestly, I always thought Scarborough Fair was a bit cheesy, having to sing it as a child, both parents and schoolmaster big S&G fans. But this version is so funky and dreamy, beautiful! Lovely movie as well, Bakshi is a genius
Scarborough doesn't have a fair any more. The council closed it. They got sick of the elderly hippies just hanging around singing and not buying anything.
Heavy Traffic is what made me fall head over heels for this one.
Me too
Same.
Me as well
You have no taste
One of the best scenes ever
My favorite version of this song. Reminds me of summer in the 60's.

It's true!!!

I was in San Antonio in the Air Force in 1968 and this was one of the songs that got me through a difficult and lonely period. It is the best version.
RIP, Sergio Mendes, muito obrigado. 🙏🏼❤️🌟
I'll be 67 years in July of this new year 2023. And I am so thankful for Herb, Sergio, Lani, Karen. For the Memories.
Never a group that could copy another artist song and do it better. Those women that sing with Sergio Mendes. They are the complete best.
The brunette, Lana, is Herb Albert's wife

THIS IS ONE OF MOST GREATEST SONG,S, LISTENING IN 2023, THIS SONG WILL BE OUT THERE FOR A LONG, LONG TIME, WONDERFUL GROUP, GREAT MUSIC AND SINGER,S,.
Otherworldly. Like crossing over into another dimension or stepping foot on some other planet, far beyond our own.
It's the ocean. The Pacific ocean. It has no memories.
You might like Susumu Hirasawa, his music is an entirely different genre but it always sounds like you are in some dream that can't be described.
Great observation. For me, especially at the 2:08 mark.
I know this song has been covered many times before and here it is not the song nor the lyrics but the melody and ethereal voices. Whenever I hear this I feel like in heaven.

This song makes me feel like I'm on an island in the Caribbean. Crystal blue waters, palm trees, and sun.
Wonderful!! Those were the days - never coming back... Summer days, summer music... 💯🎶🎵
Summer in 60'
That absolutely perfect cut-in break is Sergio himself on a Rhodes electric piano.
Remember when the world looked like this song sounds??
😂 Best comment here! Long for a return to those days.
Yes! Perfectly expressed. It was such a beautiful era.

"Scarborough Fair" is one of my favorite Simon & Garfunkel songs-Love this version!
Goddamn, those violins are so euphoric and hypnotic

I think I heard this version before Simon & Garfunkel's. Very early musical memory, love it!
This was in Heavy Traffic.

My mother had this album, I forgot how good it was
What a beautiful voice.
Great music!
Absolutely! Heavy Traffic did it for me too!
The college station where I first trained used the instrumental bridge of this song as background for its DJ-read weather forecasts.
Way cool!
Really love this song
Such a beautiful rendition. Simply the best, I just love it😊
So sweet! Feel the time spirit.
Una joya todo el disco
Dulces años 60

Marvelous. My older sister had the A & M label 45 rpm which quickly became quite scratchy ! This upload here is a treat. Thanks !
Adorei❤
Sergio Mendes and the Brazil 66 should get back together and make MORE contemporary beautiful music !!!!!
He still tours but I think some of the members of the '66 version are dead.
Sergio Mendes just passed 😢
@@mattbradley9022 Yep. Sad, but what a great life.

this version and Celia Pavey one are the best ever
Only Sergio could turn this song 🎵 into a more sensual version of the Beatles version.
The Beatles did a cover of Scarborough Fair? Which LP was it on?
@@Coowallsky I think he got them mixed up with Simon and Garfunkel 🤔 Easy to do! 🤣
Got it don't be my Gateway music of the Ankh passages 1972 I came to this planet. Theme music.
