I love the add on, but I have one suggestion. It would be cool if near the dwelling or when a dweller is targeting the player if other mobs won't spawn or would spawn less, because while playing the add on the other mobs kinda cushioned the fear and added more familiarity and kinda just made the dweller seem more in the background and less of a threat (to me at least). I love the addon since it makes going to mine for ore not just a monster fighting experience, it makes it a trip where i habe to constantly weigh up the odds to make it home. Wearing my best gear only pisses it off, so i have to sacrifice protection over agitating that thing
With Gargin's recent insanity arc I almost thought that this was a prank. Now that I've seen it though I love the new cave dweller model and tricks he brings to the table, it feels almost official with how well done it is.
I got this today. At some point at night it had spawned on the surface and was just watching me. I decided to try and attack it with my new diamond sword. It did not like this, and as a retaliation, it snapped my diamond sword in half as if it wasn't even there and began to attack me, eventually either killing me or getting my health low enough that a normal mob finished me off during the fight.
The model of the cave dweller got such a massive glow up, it looks so much more imposing, especially with those freakishly long hands, while still keeping core components of its original design. Despite the many dweller clones out there, the original remains to be the best!
I think you should fix the cave dwellers spawn depth and it’s are of spawn, if I’m above a water cave next to a lake he spawns on land. Other times he spawns in broad daylight in an open cave, which makes him look unscary and goofy.
Amazing work 🎉 hope we see more bedrock horror from you soon had my friend play this not knowing it was on and he was distraught 😂 either a completely new creature or adding onto one already existing like the warden or the new creaking would be great so exited to see what come next for you ❤
I just thought about an idea for one of its adapting abilities, when your in a small narrow cave hallway when you are being chased by the dweller and place two blocks infront of it the first time it won’t do anything about it but the second time during the next encounter if you do it again it will break through the blocks and continue to chase you.
It does exactly this, but it might take time for it to learn this ability. What I have noticed, though, is that if you place just about 5 blocks between, he'll stop chasing you.
As a bedrock player who doesn't normally buy mods and usually just goes to curseforge this is one of the few times where I'd say the bedrock version is better than the original java mod and actually worth buying it, better animations, better model, ai, sounds and the fact it's the original creator working on this definitely helps that
now this is the rise of bedrock horror addons which I am also making an addon with all the effort I can, and it will ONLY be on bedrock edition. good job, XP and gargin!
Ok so I'm not sure if this is a feature but as I was on the overworld he spawned right behind me as I was digging sand for a buried treasure! His eyes weren't glowing but as I attacked it it killed me with ease, I'm currently on day 109 and only have iron armor and enchanted diamond gear
Question about the dwellers adaptations What exactly can it adapt too and what are it's behaviours? Would be cool to have a video explaining this for those interested in the technical aspects of the addon! Would deeply appreciate it
@@chaoswhaletv6306 oh boy haha, are there any blocks able to resist it? I feel like they should have some limitations around what it can or can't break. Such as obsidian, netherite blocks, iron related items, and so forth. It can crawl, climb, steal items, swim, placing water causes it to evaporate, and probably more.
This is an official partner with the original creators of the Cave Dweller. But, copies of the Cave Dweller ruin the whole point of these mods being scary.
I do want to put one issue out there but first let me say this is by far one of the best add ons I've ever played honestly. I've played Minecraft for years and caves haven't been scary to me in so long and this makes me feel afraid again. I've been doing some play testing tho and it seems that if you keep your distance and don't pay attention to him (don't look at him), he tends to be a bit too passive and loses his fear factor. Could you add something to counter this? Once I figured this out I no longer feared going caving
It took 3 people and keep inventory to kill it once out of 4 skirmishes where it fled twice killed all of us once and was killed after (not counting the individual encounters). Since the dwelling was not destroyed it came back to kill us all again. 10/10 absolute menace to all players
So I tried the add on and I have some thoughts. I never died to the cave dweller only stalked by it constantly however it took way too long to spawn in making me a little paranoid but not really scared. The spawnings of it a wildly inconsistent from what I’m seeing because there’s TH-camrs that have it spawning the second they enter a place where they need a torch but for me it took upwards of almost an hour for it to spawn and when it finally did it just stared at me and looked. There was a bit of a bug however because it looked like it was in a 1x1 hole in a crawling position however a wisp (I have this add on called dynamic light that spawns these in) went over to it giving me a good view of it and it was just standing there with its eyes not glowing. Initially I thought the glowing eyes in the hole was just a moth because they look similar so I shot it with a bow then it chased me and beat my ass till I fled into a tunnel. Idk why it left me alone but that’s what happened and when it did it took a little less time for it to spawn and then it faded away. After this I hadn’t seen it for the rest of the cave so I sought it out with the moth and man I have to say. This moth is a MASSIVE pain in the ass when it comes to finding the cave dweller. It clips through blocks making it hard to find and sometimes if just flys into lava and burns before I have a chance to find it. Then before I can get a chance to catch it the stupid thing flys away. Now to give some leniency here I will say that my dwelling spawned right next to a trial chamber. I’m not sure if this if why the dweller spawned a lot less and if it affected it in anyway but I just thought it was funny that I found a trial chamber before I found a dwelling. I think making these things more of a common occurrence within caves would be better and Ik your probably thinking it’ll also make it easier too but I think if you burn the nest or destroy it in anyway then it should come screaming towards you chasing you and chasing you until it loses you. I’m not sure about the damage of the dweller because for me it wasn’t able to kill me but I’ve also never seen people get killed by the dweller unless they sought it out. The speed of the dweller was also really really weird. I spawned in the dweller and got a fair distance away from it before it chased me and man do I have to say that it was really consistent in this chase. I went into the damn ocean to try and shake it off and it somehow still got to me. However during this chase there was also a period where I stopped moving because it was quite far away from me. My issue with the chase sequences is that you NEED to see the dweller which I feel is a missed opportunity to make it scarier. The heartbeat is such a cool addition yet it feels as if there’s nothing more to it than just making you scared and whilst that’s cool, it also could’ve been an opportunity in making your heartbeat react to the dweller the close it is. If it’s closer to you then your heartbeats faster making it so that you dont need to see it to know how far it is but if it’s further then your calmer. The first encounter I had with the dweller earlier was the most horrifying experience I’ve had in a video game in ages but it got dumbed down a little when I saw that it bugged out with its eyes appearing in a hole in the wall and the actual mob itself was standing with its eyes missing. Not seeing the thing that’s practically playing with you is terrifying and I think this should be addressed a little. Make the mob a little darker maybe go as far as making the whole mob pitch black but its eyes a shining light? Just so it’ll be a little scarier. Make it scream and roar ALOT more whilst it’s chasing you. This’ll will let the player know that it’s still being chased but also terrify the player. I know this is an extremely long comment so I’ll just list the additions you can make here Make the mob darker (maybe pitch black with its eyes claws and teeth a beaming white) to terrify the player making it so that they cannot see the thing attacking them half the time. Make the heartbeat an actual function and mechanic that beats faster the closer you are to the dweller. Make the dweller roar and scream ALOT more in chases and make the chases longer to make the player know theyre still being chased. When you destroy the nest of the dweller make it end in a chase no matter how you destroy it giving the dweller one last chance to skin you alive. Also increase the amount of dwellings because these are annoying to find and also it could help immersion because it makes no sense how the cave dweller has one nest in this big of a cave. That’s pretty much it. I hope the dev reads this because this mob can still be so much scarier.
i really love this mod, i think adding a breathing effect when he spawn behind you can be really cool, and depend on how loud the breathing sound is indicate how close he is to the player 💀💀. I have a place in my mine where i have a lot of monster noise all around and i was digging everywhere, thinking monster was near but i did not found a single one and i was like "no freaking way, it's him who mimic all the noise and make me parano wow". seriously i'm looking behind my back all the time. in one of my world where i was fully equiped and enchanted, i was way to confident after drinking potion and all and i was like, " i'm gonna kick he's ass", yep i lost 2 fully upgraded gear this day xD
The long jump ability should probably have an animation, same for swimming Also I feel like he starts showing up WAY too frequently once he’s been on the world for a long time
PLS HELP… I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anyone else experiencing this issue, but my friend downloaded this add-on to their realm and later decided to remove it because it was affecting our gameplay. The add-on was deleted from resource and behavior packs, but torches keep disappearing and an invisible entity keeps attacking us in caves. When killed by the entity it says “Player was slain by %entity.xp_cd:cave_dweller.name”. Please help us make the add-on delete permanently without having to restart our realm !!
I was doing a stream with ur addon it is very good I was mining in the cave and I see this dude starring straight into my soul while I was fighting mods😂 I pretended it was not here 😭
Hey, Gargin! I’ve been using the Cave Dweller mod since shortly after it was released, and I have primarily used it alongside the RealismCraft mod. I haven’t experienced basically anything other than the Dweller putting my torches out, and it has never adapted to my fighting tactics, as far as I can tell. The most advanced thing I saw it do was disappear when I placed lava down. I went to kill it, and when we started fighting, it just kinda didn’t do shit. I only had Protection 1 diamond armor on, but the game started lagging hardcore and it was barely a real fight. Is this just a problem with RealismCraft being on? One thing that I know is a RealismCraft problem is the Grinning Moth not being visible, since it is visible in normal Minecraft.
Hey Gargin i think there is a little Problem with my Dweller ^^. He's such a Cutie he only Looks and never Attackes me😅. He Keeps me Company when i fell Lonely ❤.

Yo this actually looks sick, it would be cool if you worked with idksomeguy to make a horror mod!!!
I'm pretty sure idksomeguy doesnt exactly create those mods, but he directs them (im pretty sure) just like what kihec did to the siren head mod
Nah we're good 🔥🔥
The model of the cave dweller got such a massive glow up, it looks so much more imposing, especially with those freakishly long hands, while still keeping core components of its original design.
Fr
Or ot appears behind you if it's stuck for too long
It does exactly this, but it might take time for it to learn this ability. What I have noticed, though, is that if you place just about 5 blocks between, he'll stop chasing you.
Be careful what you do, Gargin
The whole internet's waiting to copy you.
As a bedrock player who doesn't normally buy mods and usually just goes to curseforge this is one of the few times where I'd say the bedrock version is better than the original java mod and actually worth buying it, better animations, better model, ai, sounds and the fact it's the original creator working on this definitely helps that
now this is the rise
of bedrock horror addons
which I am also making an addon with all the effort I can, and it will ONLY be on bedrock edition.
good job, XP and gargin!
There’s already a lot of horror add ons. Alot of which have dwellers.
@AvidCS Ye I know
but I like this one
Ok so I'm not sure if this is a feature but as I was on the overworld he spawned right behind me as I was digging sand for a buried treasure! His eyes weren't glowing but as I attacked it it killed me with ease, I'm currently on day 109 and only have iron armor and enchanted diamond gear
Why this seems better than the original one?? Damn, very cool
Question about the dwellers adaptations
What exactly can it adapt too and what are it's behaviours? Would be cool to have a video explaining this for those interested in the technical aspects of the addon! Would deeply appreciate it
So I played the mod.
It learns to open doors, and it follows you outside the cave if you stay for too long.
@ yeah the book tells us about those ones, I'm curious about other adaptations and overall it's behaviours
@@kingcassio55 Was messing around, found out it learns to break blocks.
@@kingcassio55I heard it can’t break obsidian
The funny thing is mods have been on bedrock for years but on console it is extremely hard to get them which is why people mostly use the marketplace.
this is actually scarier than the original mod
It’s so annoying that when you made a really cool mod on Java all these stupid rip offs just came in and ruined TH-cam and Minecraft
Has moths. Peak. Downloading now.
See I love this SO MUCH! Just a shame its limited to Minecraft Marketplace as an add-on. Would have LOVED to use it in the Fear Nightfall mod pack.
I just got it and holy moly this guy is something else
I know this is an extremely long comment so I’ll just list the additions you can make here
Make the mob darker (maybe pitch black with its eyes claws and teeth a beaming white) to terrify the player making it so that they cannot see the thing attacking them half the time.
Thanks for making an actually GOOD version on bedrock.
I purchased this addon recently and it's epic. I can't even strip mine in peace anymore. I'm going to bring my friend into it too. LOL!
Bro single handedly created minecarft horror community
Someone really needs to make a sound physics add on and a ambient noise add on
The long jump ability should probably have an animation, same for swimming
Also I feel like he starts showing up WAY too frequently once he’s been on the world for a long time
I don't know what to feel about the design but I like the new sounds.
This makes me really want the updated night dweller to also become an addon on bedrock that would be so cool
Please help us make the add-on delete permanently without having to restart our realm !!
going to comment every day until this is fixed because why is he still killing us when the packs were wiped from game storage
Honestly the idea with the moth is really good
I feel like the moving animations could be better, but other than that, AMAZING! Well done!!! -and thank you!
Is this going to be changed into an update for the Curseforge version, because if you are that would be epic.
I was doing a stream with ur addon it is very good I was mining in the cave and I see this dude starring straight into my soul while I was fighting mods😂 I pretended it was not here 😭
Great addon
I think the book you spawn with is bad because if your trying to scare your friends then the book gives it away
first time seeing the moth,
WHY DOES IT SPOOK ME TF OUT
Maybe you should make more times of dwellers so the player is NEVER alone whatsoever
I hope you make more update to your dweller
Y’all cooked with this one 🔥🫡
-combine this with cave dweller add on and a sound effect add on
The free one? I did this and it makes it even scarier 😂
Amazing add on so well done, some things could be worked on but for most part amazing
I got this add-on on my PlayStation I played with my older brother and it was TERRIFYINGLY BEAUTIFUL!
9:55 you threw your sword again like in the video video showcasing the mod 😂
Og cave dweller con is only the design and animation,This version proved that
Just bought it today, really cool add on
Honestly, if this was ported to Java, I'd be all for that. This looks sick.
Needs more cave sounds
Hey Gargin i think there is a little Problem with my Dweller ^^. He's such a Cutie he only Looks and never Attackes me😅. He Keeps me Company when i fell Lonely ❤.
1 year later the cave dweller fan base made it to bedrock
When I was playing with the add-on the cave dweller was pretty passive towards me.
When I countered him if I just look at him for long enough he well just disappear.
It only attacked me when I attacked it.
Thank you so much I was tired of having lame bedrock mods please make more.
