    I forgot to mention that the plastic cover that protects the heart rate sensor from sweat etc can be popped out very easily and is held in by adhesive

      Yea given the price point and components they chose to use, it's pretty cool to see how much tech was crammed into this thing. While working on my custom VB, I quickly learned why they made the decisions they did in regards to the shell, thickness, etc. Hopefully I'll have it done this week :)

    I have an issue regarding my vital bracelet. I wanted to ask you about it. I actually found your channel and subscribed during my search for a resolution.
    I always use it when working out. I sweat a lot. Even more so today. I noticed that sweat seeped inside my bracelet. I kept getting DIM card failure messages without any card being inserted. Of course it doesn't read any cards at all now... Does it sound like the bracelet is done for? Thanks!

    • @VincentVeak
      @VincentVeak  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Last week I ended up taking apart my bracelet and cleaning it with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. I also used a silicone conformal coating. The DIM card reader just started working this afternoon! I'm glad that it's working again. I guess that it needed to be cleaned and time to dry.

    Hi! Thanks for the vid, it's very informative and helpful! Would you happen to know anywhere online one could buy spare VB parts?? Particularly a new(ish) heart rate sensor? My original VBs one finally crapped out, I opened it up and the connections seems fine. But it fails to read, even after recalibrating. The green light doesnt even turn on anymore..

    • @VincentVeak
      @VincentVeak  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Thanks for the kind words :) unfortunately I'm not sure where any of these spare parts would be available online since most of it looks relatively custom save for the battery, buttons, and maybe the screen as they all have standard electronics part numbers. As for the HR sensor, I think you may be out of luck on that one, but maybe someone on the Digitama Hatchery discord knows something I don't!

    Out of curiosity, what's the markings on that SOIC-8 chip? I imagine it's some sort of SPI NOR flash, would be nice to dump. If it's a GeneralPlus chip, then the MCU under that glop top might be a GeneralPlus chip too.
    Edit: it's KH25L12833FM2I-10G. 128Mbit, contains half of the firmware and non-Digimon sprites.

My friend’s won’t pick up her heart rate anymore and I saw another comment that mentioned a discord I could look at, could you tell me where I can find a link to that? • @VincentVeak
      @VincentVeak  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked the video! I'm assuming the Discord you're referring to is the Digitama Hatchery by Humulos, so I'm going to leave a link in here. There are channels for the VB and for modding vPets, so either of those may be a good starting point. My advice would be to start with the ribbon cable connecting the sensor to the main board. Mine physically broke off and I took thin wires and resoldered them together. If that still fails and it's a problem with the sensor board itself, then it may be a little trickier

It has a very bright green light upon turning the switch off to on, but then is extremely faint from that split second forward. I have went into factory test mode and it will read 0000 for the pulse, and even doing the test all feature also gives a very faint green light. I am comfortable learning to solder if need be. It's hard to say, as a lot of HR sensors have gone defective (at least I've noticed, but that could just be everyone only telling me their problems with the VB lol) but Bandai doesn't offer any replacements. You could try rewiring all 5 connections with small gauge wire like I've done with a few VBs, but if the problem is the sensor itself rather than the connections to the main board, then there isn't much else you can do. Any chance you know why my Digivice V sound is really faint? I can’t hear anything out of it and what I can see is nothing is blocking the speaker holes. Factory resetting did nothing and neither did toggling the power button and the sound button in settings. I’m assuming this is a problem inside the device itself? Do you think it’s fixable or do I need to send it to somebody or is it just a dud that I have to replace when stock replenishes?

    • @VincentVeak
      @VincentVeak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The QC on the VB as a whole is super hit or miss, and users have reported this before. It's most likely how the speaker itself was glued or soldered and really your best bet would be to replace the speaker by soldering a new one and glueing it down. Link to a new speaker is in the description, but I'm not sure if that's something you feel comfortable doing or not. Up to you!

      Your screen is probably shot. You can try unplugging the screen and reinserting into its header mount, but you can also further damage your board if you're not careful. If that doesn't fix it, you're gonna need to swap screens with a working VB most likely

    • @VincentVeak
      @VincentVeak  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what's wrong. If the plastic is jammed on the switches themselves, maybe. If the actual switches are broken and need to be replaced, then no. You'd have to find new buttons and solder them on in that case

      You'd want to disassemble it and check the button connections. Some of them get loose and need to be replaced or resoldered. Other times it's just the plastic button not sitting directly on the microswitch. Good luck!
