  • Tommy Whittle - one of the greats in the lineage of UK tenor sax players.
He was such a lovely person and made it so easy for the other musicians. He played marvellously on each of his three visits. Recorded at Blaydon House Sports & Social Club.
With Billy Harper (piano), Mick Shoulder (bass), Billy Shield (drums), Roly Veitch (guitar).

Great, Tommy Whittle blowing up a storm, with a good rhythm section. Good post.

Superb rendition, with marvelous work from all involved. The enthusiastic response at the end is entirely warranted!

Thank you. I was looking through a collection of CDs and found this recording and had completely forgotten about it. When I played the CD I was surprised at the recording quality (I think it was probably with Billy Harper's Sony Walkman with those minidiscs). Happy Days.
