Goblin 380 3 Blade Maiden Epic Fail

- Epic Fail indeed! It was flying really nice to start with, but that was short lived. There is a clicking sound at the start of and during the flight. I should have landed it but it was flying so nice, I couldn't bring myself to do it. This time it hit the floor hard! From what I can tell the elevator servo was damaged from the last crash and failed after a hard stop. Oh well back to the drawing board. so far I plan on getting all new, better cyclic servos, new canopy+tail and off course 3 new blades.....
I know it's a crash but please give me a thumbs up, it will make me feel better :-)

Sorry for your loss buddy, you took that like a champ! Keep us updated. Great camera work with the drone by the way, it's a nice touch.

Thanks man. It did sound good with those blades didn't it, I almost thought about going back to two blades to save some money, but nah it was to nice :-)

WOW Brotha!! You handle it sooooo much better than I would! If I did that, the camera would turn toward me and I would already be in the car driving away!...a little time...a bit of money.. She'll be good as new. Cheers bro!

I had the same clicking sound on one of my flights with a 420. It was the battery/ESC connector getting chewed up by the drive gear. If your wires are long enough and tucked in above the battery it can happen. Resulted in the heli uncontrollable hovering in my driveway, didn''t end well.

man that was a good one.check this out dave...I charge my pulse batts in parallel so i couldn't tell that one wasn't plugged in all the way didn't charge. and flew it another 3 min low(bad be that). so pulse is so good I couldn't tell it was sagging voltage. then next flight after charge the lvc kicked in on my castle edge lite75 while inverted and gave me 5 seconds of power before cutting off. made a huge hole inn canopy plus ruined a 70$ pulse batt .ugh that lvc setting no good. one to remember
Hi J, that's bad luck mate. I've heard a lot of good things about those pulse batteries, I might have to try and source one for myself :-)

Wow! I thought my maiden was disappointing... although you did get more out of her than I have still! KSE with ikon is turning out to be an adventure in tuning! You might want to email zeal... they make a set of 360's for the kse head that they aren't advertising yet and they are slightly cheaper than sab! Cheers!

Hey whr are u guys filming that at? looks nice! Btw- any time u hear a noise that dnt sound right- alwys replace the servo gears or the whole servo cuz yea it will mess up if it is not in tip top condition!
it's funny but we've been on almost the same path for buying heli's. I bought 450 pro then a walkera master cp then 450l dominator and lastly I bought the goblin380 and a goblin 500. it sounds like its my turn to try the triblade and your turn for a goblin 500. they are sweet.I'm just missing a good camera and cameraman lol.i hear its either a g700 or a g500 thats the sweet spots. I dig the 500 cause you can run 6s and alot of stuff works like mini servos or full size. and I take the goblin 380's batts and run 2pulse 1800mAh's in parallel since the 500 batts are like 90 to 100$ each
Oh man I would love a Goblin 500, but then I would love a new camera too :-/ I just want loads of new stuff lol. I'm posting a new maiden flight video on friday of my latest purchase :-)

Damn that was a pretty bad crash! What ended up being the final repair cost?
Not sure yet I'm not doing the rebuild until the end of the month, so far it's about £180

So the extra rotating mass is pretty minuscule? Would you say a third blade added 33% more lift?
It's hard to say the exact figure but I would say it's something like that, plus there was more cyclic authority :-)
Dave Beach I imagine elevation changes are so much snappier. It just looks cool when a helicopter can fall and climb so quickly.
Pilot error.....He got too accustomed to flying off of the gentle downslope, that's very forgiving to pilot errors (allowing more time to correct), that when he flew over flat terrain, his true piloting skill set shined. lol He even forgot to hit "throttle hold" prior to making his heli a lawn dart.
What's good Davis hey I got a quick question i just order a Michael beast X for my 450L I'm hoping it will be a lot easier to set up ikon Flybers system do u no anything about it

Well my thoughts at the time were to just lift it of the group and see if I could get a better idea of what was wrong. When I took off it seemed OK so I just carried on. I know, I'm an idiot! 😌

I will be frying the 450L again soon, I just need to get some new servos. This flight has set me back a bit :-(
