Yes,it is being misinterpreted that ST means primitive and undeveloped right from their origin .Our culture is not primitive one why because ,We are descendants of RANA Rajput Rajvansh and once upon a time at top of culture civilization. Due to unavoidable conditions ,We had to stay in jungles and kept our small group isolated from the security point of view as when our 12 Rana group arrived in this Tarai ,the chand vanshiya rulers were reigning in this kumaun region and Whole Tarai was governed by them.The chand king Rudrachand accepted the leadership of muslim ruler Akbar in 1588
and appeased him with very costly gifts ,hira,moti ,javahrat,kasturi mrag,khukti etc.He was called great jagirdar of kumaun by mugal shasak His successors followed his policy and kept appeasing mugal rulers.We had no option but to keep quite as the ruler was with our so called shatru Akbar and their Ancestors.
We legged behind economically,socially and politically as well.Thus We are categorised in ST .The reporter can not understand this as they are having particular narrative about tribes.
