Greetings! Africa has some beautiful birds for sure. Love giraffes. Zebras. Abundance of animals. They look so clean. Nature is a beautiful thing if left to be itself. Even the vultures. Your words are so correct in explanation. So true. Tysm for sharing ❤
I didn't realize the oxpecker was extinct in that area of Africa. The reason being arsenic based preparations used on cattle to kill pests. But also emphasizing that the people of that time didn't know any better about the intricacies of ecology 100 years ago or so. In the context of time and knowledge back then they thought they were doing the right thing. Thanks for making that so clear rather than pulling an David Attenborough on us.
great story about oxpeckers population growing. What is being done to ensure genetic diversity of oxpeckers if they are an isolated population? 50 original kruger birds must have a very inbred dna by now, how are you maintaining the genetic diversity of the oxpeckers now that the population numbers are sustainable? Playing god is required to restore wildlife after humans caused their extinction but WE CANNOT HAVE INBRED NARROW DNA GENE POOLS
You guys are doing so much more than David Attenborough constantly complaining with his concerned-sounding voice. You guys have much better stories than BBC.

Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it. Yes modern farming practices in the area use dips that cause no harm to the wildlife and especially birds.
