I'm glad you had a good immigration entry process Cece. My boyfriend is also a US citizen and the first time I came for 90 days I landed at SFO and it was great, fuss free and the officer was very friendly. Second time I went and arrived at LAX because we had some plans with friends and I was pulled into a room where they took away everyone's phones, and I sat there waiting for 5 hours only to have an officer question me so rudely. I showed him proof of our relationship, showed my bank account and everything. The officer laughed and told me that no one goes on a holiday for 90 days and I had to repeat myself over and over. Took a lot out of me to remain polite and calm after a long and rude questioning and the officer finally let me through.
Save to say I never want to land in LAX ever again.
maybe bcos you don't have an official relationship like marriage so they are hard to believe and understand. although they just wanna be cautious, the officer should not be rude.. this is why I'm afraid to visit America even as a tourist 😵
