Amtrak Auto Train Detours Through Selma, NC

Here we see Amtrak Auto Train 52 arriving and changing crews on the connection track in Selma, NC. Due to a CSX derailment in Lake City, SC, Auto Train was rerouted via the CSX S-Line and the NS NC-Line. Here they are rejoining the A-Line for the trip to Lorton.

Looks like a lot of crew. As I understand it, the auto train is a long enough route where they have at least two in the locomotive at all times. Wondering if they had a third one as a trainee.

Where does the NS NC Line run to/from? And is the CSX S line go thru Florence sc?

The NS NC-Line runs from Greensboro to Goldsboro, NC. The S-Line does not run through Florence. It goes via Hamlet, NC, Columbia, and Denmark, SC.
