In my opinion this product would be most helpful for someone who is still learning how to play chess. As someone who has been playing for years now, I would only use chessup to play against the computer. I seriously doubt you would be able to get assistance while playing someone online so... For me, it wouldn't be all that useful except for an occasional hint when playing the AI. It's a wonderful idea for beginners though 👍

This is a great chess set. But somewhat glitchy in that it gets confused with where the pieces are at times which kind of throws off the fun. But overall, it's a very high quality board that does not need a phone to run as the program and hardware is all self contained.

The move indicator light are great for beginners. For anyone over 1000 Elo they will be nothing but distraction. Build in AI makes this board compete with DGT Centaur but I wish the AI was stronger so we could ignore the phone app all together.
