Hello Sarah and Mick. I gotta say Mick hope your back gets better soon. I have Cronic Kidney Disease among other things so yes, I know what back pain is.

Those terracotta cones would look great as Christmas trees, especially if you foil or embossed them. Hopefully it'll be a sunny day when you go back and do the stream/ river lark, and Micks back is better. X

Hi Sarah and Mick.I think that the terracotta cones could be some sort of kiln stilt .These were used to separate items when anything ceramic was fired in a potters kiln.Jo.xx

I wonder if the ceramic circle could be a base for an immortelle grave wreath. Gail and Alex found some ceramic flowers from one. They would have to have a circular mount of some type, ceramic would make sense. In addition to flowers there was a tag with a message, and other ornaments such as doves or clasped hands. That could account for that upright bit. The whole lot was covered with a glass dome and wire cage for protection. Just a guess, perhaps northern mudlarks have done some investigating since they found the flowers last year. Cheers to you both.
