Bad start, awful middle - terrible ending. I love Iron Helm! Great playthrough thanks

This one was brutal. Sometimes I don't have any luck (or just make really bad decisions repeatedly).
*looks over at the table with the aftermath of a sixth Final Girl loss in a row*

Love your enthusiasm! It really is a tough game... Try it with the new "Howling Abyss" cards next. NOTE: Tin Helm is equally enjoyable. Subscribed.

I definitely plan on checking out the Howling Abyss cards soon (at least one more play without). I had to take a quick detour since a new Final Girl box just arrived, but my terrible Iron Helm play should return next week! :)

Great gameplay, again. A bit unlucky, but it is what it is... Also, do you have a death wish with all the fights you get into? :)) IH is "old folks with arthritis against horrible undead eldritch monstrosities". I really don't see them winning consistently.
Torch, Door Wedge, Robes - absolutely essential trappings for the first floor, as they allow taking risks early on, with a better chance to reach the Campsite, Mushroom Grove and Altar. Forget the rations! Who needs food if they're dead? :)
I actually tend to keep the robes for a long time (while trying to first get the iron helm and/or some shield if I really want some defense).
I also spend blessings when the dice rolls are really bad - why keep them if I will probably be dead before the boss anyway? :)
I try to bribe all the enemies I can, with food or gold. It is better to possibly lose hit points later, starving on the way to the next level, than risk losing hit points and energy in an avoidable fight. Iron Helm is the game of delayed consequences just for the extra % chance of getting something good in the meantime.
Ideally, get the magic ring, lamp, and explorer's map - I know, RNG, but they have "NORMAL MODE" (i.e. EASY in IH) written all over them when combined with robes and Sixth Sense.
Saving some enemies for Sixth Sense, Alchemy and Treasure Hunter is also a viable strategy, for the card reveal, two free potions (only once, unfortunately) and extra energy after fights.
In the end, all this is just theory, as IH is (almost) pure gambling in fantasy format, which is a habit we should all kick (yeah, right). ;)

I am scared of door or something :) If a Skirmish or Ambush comes up first it's better than a Skirmish or Ambush coming up second! :)
I have been lucky enough to pair the robe with the Magic Ring *chef's kiss*.
"Fantasy gambling", I love it! :)

@@CeePhour Ah, the terrible "doorror" - door horror. Yes, I have felt it many times, I even died of it (chose not to open the second door, therefore and consequently I naturally died) . :))
Also, I would argue that no Skirmish and even no Ambush are even better than any of those, unless I have ample energy, a potion or three, and a way to mitigate incoming damage. Have you noticed how some armor becomes useless in ambushes? Unless you can kill the ambushed target with the first roll, it's skirmish time, but "better" - i.e. with no defense bonus for the enemy's first strike. Jason be blessed, with his "crappy" tin foil armor, mostly good only for a measly 1-2 damage (and not even always on counterstrikes). Why, really? :))

I already own tin helm and love it. Do you feel this game is worth purchasing or is it to redundant to have both?

This is very much my preferred game over Tin Helm. It offers so much more. Tin Helm is great but it's also very limited. The huge variety in items alone makes it worth it to me. Pile on the different bosses and characters and I find it irresistible. The only downside is the price...

Great video. What do poison tokens do?

The rule is "if you ever have Poison equal to or more than your HP you die immediately."
Poison gets stronger after each floor as well. Every time you descend for every TWO Poison you have, gain one. You would think I had learned to not mess with Poison, but alas... counting on finding an antidote Potion or the cure all Poison Blessing is a bad bet, as I learned this play :)
