The M4 with stiffer and adjusted for specific track purpose suspension, springs and damper plus a set of track focusing tire would give it ultimate turning ability, in turn 1, the car actually understeer less and less power oversteer at turn out as well. The way it understeer in turn 1 is so similar to GTR Nismo. Although the McLaren is stock with Corsa tires but it's lighter and lower, it actually dives into the apex and the M4 is kind of pulling away from apex by its own weight. Also, the MP4 got a far far better acceleration at turn out. At the end of the day, the MP4 will still beat this M4 by similar turn in but a sharper more effective respond and far greater turn out acceleration.
This a great video with some amazing driving! The only thing that I might suggest for next time would be a separate camera pointed at the speedo that you could put in a box in the corner or something so we can see actual speed. Cheers!!
That's the best I could do in the 12C as I was building up heat and pressure in my tires. It was a very cool morning and it took me 5 laps to heat up the tires and get the pressures beyond 24 lbs front tires, and 26 lbs rear tires (and pressure indicators turn red). Until the 24/26 is reached the car is in a limp mode and stays in "Normal/street" mode which also limits the RPM. (I started with 21frontt/23rear) Once the pressures get to 24/26, then the pressure lights turn green the car gets out of limp mode, and track mode can be achieved. I will look for the videos of the warmer sessions and will post it.
TC just wanted me to let you know that he had no idea that this session would be taken out of context. We should have put up the next session where you 'waxed' him :)
I'm an F80 owner researching camber plate kits and suspension upgrades. Can you give some feedback on your settings for the track day? Camber settings? Recommendations for the casual track day/autocross driver? I would love to see your track videos with multiple go pro mounts. One on the interior to hear the exhaust note without the wind noise and another exterior mounted behind the front wheels to see your turn in and suspension cycling. Thanks for posting.
Overall super impressive driving. Although I'm curious, is there any particular advantage on missing the 2nd Apex at the corkscrew? Not criticizing, honest question. I recently did a track day with the M4 at Laguna Seca and looking at a bunch of videos with different lines. Thanks.
Damn that McClaren was tearing away out of those turns and braking zones. All the other cars were toast when the M4 came up on them.
Loved that Mclaren, but he was holding you up.
Amazing! So smooth, calm and collected.
I just purchased your suspension for my f82!
Damn good driving!

what was the best lap time?
Pretty awesome performance, I wonder how fast could it go on normal sport spec tires?
