Song of the year in the late 80s. Reminds me of my days at ZAF military academy in 1988 in ZAF officers mess at Zambia airforce - Livingstone. This great song symbolised the opening and closing time of the bar!
Somewhere in the outskirts of Chamboli, in Kitwe, the young Serenje Kalindula Band was resident at Mushipi Tavern. Right next to Kalukungu Hall, the band would among other songs, play Clementina, Ba Nkana ba wina, Mwanenu namukana, Dora Mama and many more. I learnt some of my kalindula guitar skills from Mushipi Tarven between 1988-1996. Lesa wa maka.
