SERENJE KALINDULA Nemwine Nkafwa Bwangu

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 10 มี.ค. 2018
- Kalindula music is based on folklore. For instance, the Serenje Kalindula Band was largely based on lala folklore and pop culture, PK Chishala's songs were influenced by Ushi mythology and folklore, while the Uweka Stars ' 'Grace' emanated from the Njanja folklore.
Among the most celebrated Kalindula artists and groups are PK Chishala with hits such as 'Na Musonda' and 'Pastor'. 'Kabelebele' by Masasu Band remains one of the genre’s biggest hits, while the former Glorious Band led by Jonathan Chibesa tried to bring back the glory days of Kalindula by releasing the band's breakthrough hit 'Isamboa Lya Mfwa' in 2002. Before the Glorious Band went into silence, they released four well-received albums: Isambo Lya Mfwa, Ilyashi likaya, Kula Umone and Tata mpeniko amano.
In more recent times, popular appreciation of Kalindula music has failed to dwindle into extinction. The Amayenge Cultural Ensemble has continued to churn out new songs and perform at live shows. This has served as a reminder of the important place that Kalindula popular has in the Zambian music industry. Other emerging artists include Angela Nyirenda with her famous 'Khuzwayo' and 'Chalo chiwama nawako'.

Serenje Kalindula Band is a truly legendary outfit with music that will live on throughout the generations to come. Many years ago when I used to live in Ndeke Village in Kitwe I used to hear their music at night and always wanted to see them perform live. I never had that opportunity. This is certainly one of their best hits. It's a pity we don't have singing groups of their type and calibre today. This traditional fwandafwanda music is classic.
We lalas are very proud of ourselves selves
I honestly, enjoy listening to them wholesomely
Oooh might serenje u'r mind of me my late dad,yr songs so touching mweeee n u wudu hear my dad say son put sam velocity to the sound
We used to listen to these songs in the late 1980s pa Tukwiza bar as music starved 14year olds not drinking.

This music is beautiful and romantic to listen from records or watch the band' play. I watched them play a few times. I had few cassettes to play when I was in grad school in Oregon. Would get homesick listening to Zambian music. Surely, our music and our culture at its best.
Where did you watch them play?
SERENJE USED TO ENTERTAIN AT A BAR CALLED MWABONWA IN WUSAKILE TOWNSHIP. THEY WERE A PRECIOUS GEM OVER WEEKENDS WHEN NKANA THE RED DEVILS WOULD BEAT ANY TEAM

What about, mwe balume shiteniko insanity, insani ee shakulilapo.please mwatubwesesha ku nuMa ilyo ichalo chali chikashana pamo na ifwe fwe bamo
Great music, can someone continue from where these legends ended just like we had junior mulemena, mulemena boys then John mulemena continued till his demise.
It is absolutely impossible!
Just like Congo will not replace Franco and his contemporaries, Jamaica will not replace Bob and equals, Negeria will never find a replacement for Fela.
So it is with us here in Zambia and every other country in the world including USA!
I strongly believe that great music has already been done in those days, the chapter of great music closed a long time.
It is not possible, these were God given. This was beyond human talent. Listen to Bass Guitar in the background coming slowly to help out the Lead Guitar while the Rhythm Guitar is stabilising softly. I used to watch them in Moonlight night Club in Serenje when I was living in Kwa Kafinda near Tuta Bridge. Now I am 3000Km away in Foreign lands shame.
Nice memories
