I'm comin' UP! Onnnn the rough sidddeee... offff the mountain! Now, THAT commercial takes me BACK! I used to always sing along when it came on and it aired for YEARS before 1991 when I was 15
STEAMPIPE ALLEY (the local WWOR kids show) was the bomb back in the 80s. Mario sure was a weird character. The music for the Freedom Bowl ad was also used in the famous ad for Frankie & Johnnys furniture in New Orleans! LETERHAVEIT with NOOOOOOOOOOO PROBLEM!
I am not from New York or New Jersey, but I watched WWOR back then because in the 80's and 90's they had a national "superstation" feed that was carried on many cable systems. Wasn't the programming pretty much the same as what was seen on the local signal in NY and NJ? I wonder how many people pronounced it "war", like I did? It was originally WOR, and I think the second W was added due to an ownership split with a radio station that also used the WOR call sign. 6:45--I still remember that one of my home state's teams (the Iowa Hawkeyes) played in the first Freedom Bowl in the mid-80's. I believe this game was played annually for about a decade and was then discontinued.
So that gospel record could only have GIANT hits? no medium or just large hits allowed? I will always remember Mario Cantone from "Sex and the City." "Oh Char, you look just like Audrey Hepburn...owitz!" I'm sure families would sit around together & watch "America's Greatest War Heros" for a fun evening. ;)

I actually remember the days of WWOR morning hosting, but never got to know his name then.
Recorded During "Steampipe Alley" On WWOR (National Feed).

3:54 I swear to god that sounds like Lori Alan. Like, try not to think of The Boss or Diane from Family Guy saying that line.
Popular Club Plan: Based on their name they catered primarily to the high school cheerleaders and jock demographic.

That is the strangest video game ad I've seen in my life.
