So many catchy jingles in 90s commercials! I heard more jingles in the first two minutes of this video than I have in the last year of modern television commercials. It's all about licensing music these days...
The commercials for Daisy cottage cheese and sour cream are just about the only ones with a good jingle these days, at least on the TV channels I watch.
@@timothysprengeler4071 tragic. When I made the OG comment, I was still living at home with my parents. I moved into my own home and cut the cord a few years after that. I no longer watch “normal” tv and commercials so I’ve been out of the loop for about 5 years.
@@earlyriser03 I haven't had cable since I lived with my parents (which has been over 25 years ago), but I have a good rooftop antenna, so I get quite a few channels over the air. I watch a lot of MeTV, Buzzr, Cozi TV, and the like these days. I like their programs better than most of what is on ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox these days.
Hard to believe this was 20 years ago. I remember so many of these. I was 14 and cover girl and Pantene were must haves. Lol. Miss those days. Commercials were awesome then!
Agreed. I had this CoverGirl compact foundation too. It was a little too heavy for my teen skin but I should try it now. I really liked the AquaSmooth version they came out with later, which was a little lighter.
That's the only time I saw Jodie Sweetin in a commercial, and it turned out to be Cheerios. I only saw that Cheerios commercial once on TV, and ironically, it was during a "Full House" commercial break on ABC.
Love Gladys Knight, I remember these commercials, I love Aunt Jemima and Mrs. Butterworth, have you ever mixed the 2 in a cup and microwave for 25 seconds, very good and tastes great.
I remember that they filmed that Bacos commercial at Haven Middle School in Evanston. My math teacher bitched about the fact that they took down the curtains for the shoot.
0:00--Aunt Jemima syrup with maple? I didn't know they made such a thing. 1:30--Pillsbury was better back then, before it was bought by General Mills. Great jingle! 3:02--I love the reggae jingle for Milton Bradley. 5:50--Why did they ever quit making BacO's? Those used to be everywhere. 6:39--Political ads; yikes! Mercifully, this is not an attack ad. I hate those with passion, regardless of which side they are from. Kind of surprised to see this, and the Falmouth Texaco ad (6:23), on USA which is a national cable channel. They must have blocked out some time in their commercial breaks for affiliates to insert local commercials.
Ahh..memory lane...I could sing along to the cheerio and bounty commercials all day. I was just telling someone the other day that if you were doing well back in the 90s you fed your pet IAMs food and I was right! It's amazing how much has changed from 20 years ago.
Also, funny thing with me and Butterfinger. I was excited about Butterfinger for almost 10 years after seeing Simpsons Butterfinger commercials on Simpsons DVD special features. Then I had Butterfinger for real last year and thought it was one of the ghastliest chocolate bars I've ever had. D: Curse you Simpsons! *and bear in mind, I import loads of American chocolate sometimes, there's a lot of stuff I like! Butterfinger though...yuck*
Sure is "a lot" of sequels on USA for some reason, I suspect it may have had to do with the movies being made by different companies than the original.
Most movies are remakes of previous movies or they're a copycat of something else. But anyway, I shouuldn't have to remind anybody about how skin deep entertainment is. More than that, this video reminds me how fast time passes and how history is so easily forgotten and how quickly we ourselves and our present time will be forgotten too.
I didn't know Susan Sullivan was still doing these ads by 1994. That Levon commercial is a bit racy - rare to see some crotch shot at the start of your ad. I loved that Cheerios song back then. (don't remember the commercial though) No one should be that happy about paper towels. The hair in the Pantene ad isn't that great. I think that's Courtney Simon in the Mylanta ad.
I have to admit that a black woman selling Aunt Jemima is a bit disturbing I wonder if Hamburger Helper is as disgusting as I remember R.I.P. Ted Kennedy If I were to wear Lavon sportswear, would I be as attractive & athletic as those lovely people?
Hamburger Helper is noodles and whatever meat you provide with a spice mix. If you're not creative enough to add spices to make it to your standards or properly cook the meat, it is on you.

@@timothysprengeler4071 so many great options out there, cable just doesn’t make much sense anymore. 100s of channels and most are just ads lol

"pantene pro-v for hair so healthy it shines!"

I freaking miss commercials like this
the way this opened with gladys knight! my entire day has been made in less than 30 seconds, once again bc of your channel 😌
I was born in 1979, so the 90's was my era, I count my blessings everyday.
That's the only time I saw Jodie Sweetin in a commercial, and it turned out to be Cheerios. I only saw that Cheerios commercial once on TV, and ironically, it was during a "Full House" commercial break on ABC.
That dough boy is soooo cute!!! I miss hearing that hoo hoo hoo these days!
I LOVE Double Dragon, it's a real guilty pleasure of mine lol
Blink in the Cheerios commercial and you might miss Jodie Sweetin.

I'm almost expected an episode of Baywatch or American Gladiators to come on in the middle of watching this.
6:36 Falmouth? Are they talking about the one in Virginia?
Falmouth, Massachusetts
2:06 Well, who doesn't like petting a dog? They're awesome! :)
It's sad because you know all of the animals in the commercials are dead.
"Depahtment"..."Hahd"..."Ovah and ovah"...I MISS MY HOME!!!
I remember seeing those Butterfinger commercials with the simpsons. They were hilarious.
Now I know why I didn't watch USA network much in the 90s. All those horrible horror sequels, oh my.
Great Halloween II commercial!
I remember a lot of these commercials. I was 13 then, and I really wanted that makeup. *sigh* I'm from the past "/

cool i used to watch all those horror movies on usa up all night.
I sense a lot of 80s influence still, even though it's the mid 90s lol.
ahhh...shoulder pads.
Haha I still wear the Covergirl Ultimate Finish >_>

While we're doing horror sequels, how about The Doughboy Sings 2?
If you want a real horror classic, look up the Mr. Bucket review from "Board James".
Ahh the memories
Yep 90s was all about wholesomeness lol, and ugly box formless suits I hated those lol
Lol who the hell serve Hamburger Helper with a piece of lettuce and a roll?
I have to admit that a black woman selling Aunt Jemima is a bit disturbing
I wonder if Hamburger Helper is as disgusting as I remember
R.I.P. Ted Kennedy

CALL 1800-ABCDEFG! *tiiing*
lol
I liked Halloween 2 better than the first, don't judge me!
Napa farts!!
xDD
Ugh yes, everyone I know likes Hamburger Helper, that mess is disgusting DX
