The snow in big bear is pretty bad most of the time in March because during the day it melts and becomes slushy and at night (Nights in March aren't always below freezing) it freezes again making just this really hard snow that sometimes is called concrete which isnt great for skiing.
When Michael did the bit where he told Lily to wait for 10 seconds then came out of the crawlspace I thought he was gonna be like "Oh my God it's been so long I've been here just trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty..."
Holy sh*t. I've stayed in that house before with my entire family, and it was such a fun trip and the house was amazing. It had an indoor pool and at 7:05 that room use to have a full on bed and sink and right next to it was a Sauna with a hidden attic behind it. Those glowing bears you see in the backyard wasn't actually there when I stayed there. Really fun experience and super cool to know my favorite youtubers stayed there as well. Keep up the good content guys.
snowBoarding cant be rushed... it takes days to learn to turn for most people. I recommend going... the first day or 2 will be painful and hard, but when you master turning it is so incredibly fun and rewarding.
As a skier for 8 years skiing is a lot easier than snowboarding. So basically when you ski, you get control of both of your feet. A snow board stays on one foot before riding and skis have even weight distribution because there is one on each foot on lifts which makes riding and getting of lifts easier. A plus is if you are used to skateboarding or surfing, you might be a bit better at snowboarding. If you can rollerblade or ice skate you will be a bit better a skiing. Finally the only other difference is the boots but overall I just think (after doing both skis and snowboarding) skiing is easier
@@wylfo over all tho just asking other snowboarders and watching them notice how on a mountain (at least in the two places I go) there are tons of snowboards just sitting randomly in any run not saying all snowboarders are bad but snowboarding is just more tiring

I completely forgot Big Bear existed, and it brought back loads of memories of when I used to watch Corridor and Node videos when they went out to Big Bear
I wish Lily would pan more slowly while recording house tours and things like that. I don't think she realizes that the camera on her phone doesn't have a refresh rate that's that high, so when she's trying to show rooms, a lot of it winds up blurry and indistinct and it's really hard to actually SEE the contents of the room without freeze-framing. It takes a lot of patience and it might feel more awkward, but walking into a room and just slowly rotating so that everyone can see what's in the room would make the experience better for the vieiwer. Spending on extra 10 seconds per room to specifically do this wouldn't inflate the video duration that much at all but would improve the viewer experience significantly.
Seeing them all take a friend's trip makes me excited to do the same with my friends. ☺️ Thank you for another Comfy vlog (even with the doomed footage heh)
This reminds me of the fact that I couldn’t go up to my nearest mountain to spend the night with my friends in a really nice cabin for snowboarding for my birthday only to find out that the cabin was snowed in and we had to go all the way back down the mountain. I was pissed for so long and I’m still pissed. Either way I’m very jealous of what you guys got to do.
I know this isn’t related to the vid but I feel like lily didn’t think she deserved to win the best music streamer award. I think she thinks that other music streamers have so much more experience in the industry than her and have been creating music much longer than she has. In a way, she might’ve felt that her fame as a streamer granted her the award. While I do understand this feeling, I feel like she should feel proud of what’s she done in music. Maybe it’s not the most or not the longest, but the music she was able to create was certainly appreciated by all her friends and fans alike, and has helped many people through tough times. I remember living up in these mountains! The San Bernardino Mountains, right? Main highway up is highway 330 but if that's blocked you have to take a REALLY long roundabout highway 18. My uncle used to live in Big Bear and was head chef for like, 4 or 5 different big ol' restaurants up there. I even remember once a... particularly more *well off* family friend came up to visit and he chose to rent out one of those 3-story mansions just like one of those in the video for his family for a few days and having US come to him rather than HIM come to US. I know its stupid but it's odd knowing that Offline have been through my hometown, I've been dying to visit for again since I left, I'd stop 50 different places, check if 100 different people still live there, and yet for things like my old elementary school, my dad's old place of work, they probably glanced at them without giving them a second thought while I obviously would *immediately* pull over and spend 30 minutes just, remembering.
I used to participate in the special Olympics from 2nd grade... I think to 7th grade. After that, I decided no to participate in the special Olympics anymore.
The last time I went skiiing the fjords I accidentally got on the really steep hill, twisted my legs trying to zigzag down, had to take control of the situation because my parents are bad at handling stuff like that, and couldn't fully extend one of my legs without pain for 4 days. The moral of the story is to always pay attention, I think.
I went during during August i think a couple years ago like 2016 or 17. Big bear was so snowy and there was Soo much fresh snow. You guys went on a bad season tbh.
