the simplicity of punk rock is one of it's greatest strengths imo, it made a lot of people realize hey i can do that too, and it is also exciting music because it is fast and fun and to the point but of course lots of metalheads just think it's "stupid", thats okay though, i think death metal and growling noise is stupid too but it's all up for opinion anyway. thanx mike for your vast variety of guitar lessons, much appreciation!

Yeah there were some good bands. But it wasn’t about the music, it was glam rock. People went to be rockstars that weren’t necessarily musicians. It was about a lifestyle and the music suffered because of it. It wasn’t Nirvana that killed glam rock… it was glam rockers that forgot it was about music and not a broadway play

yeah glam metal became about drugs and "getting chicks" instead of being about the music, it became basically "cock rock" music in the mid to late 80s, bands like Poison and Bon Jovi are the exact type of bands that killed it, lol....@@greg6162

Nice lesson, however a friend of mine plays the 2nd part differently. All is the same until the last set, insead of sliding the root from 7 to 8 and back he move the g string note to 10 on and off and leaves the rest. Oh and that light is quite distracting and a pain in the arse when you got epilepsy

All great bands… but the Beatles being the best rock band ever. I think the 90’s decade has the most diverse music out of any decade. You had grunge/pop-punk/alternative and the best hip hop era etc. too many to list

Hey. Just wondering why it needs to be tuned down a step. It seems like you can play all of that in standard tuning.

It's basically for a heavier song or it makes it a little easier for the singer. He wouldn't have to sing as high.

I was lazy and didn’t drop my tuning 1/2 step. Tried playing along with the studio recording, right in tune!

The content is good but you talk waaaay too much about things that arent the lesson breaking the continuity of the lesson. Pick scraping? I feel confident everybody can figure out pick scraping.
