@@stev5582 Seeing as Northlane plays in 4/4, just like the majority of other djent bands, I think you mean polyrythmns, not odd time signatures. Very different
I'm not a drummer, but what Nic taught me the most about drumming, is that what matters more is when you AREN'T drumming, than when you ARE. The space and vibe is entirely up to you to create, if you want it to be very crowded and claustrophobic, or open and ambient, something Northlane excels at. Truly one of the best drummers in the scene.
Doesn't know he has groove. Get stuffed. He is an absolute beast of groove. He knows it. Legendary drummer. Privileged to have seen him live. Still one of my favs
Wow I love the fact that he’s sharing so much of the mental side of his journey and his approach how he works hard to get where he wants to go is a great way to get the point across!!Much respect for this interview
Finally some new videos from you guys, really love this channel!! I hope you can get Alex Bent from Trivium here aswell. He's a great inspiration and underrated drummer, a machine behind the kit and a personality everyone can fall in love with.
Really enjoyed this one! Was this shot a long time ago? I can tell because here Alex is still playing bass and Marcus has his long hair haha. Nevertheless truly inspirational episode!
Gus Åkerman yes it is shot Long time ago. Every episode is a lot of work and we do not come after with the editing. We would like create more and faster content. Support us with a coffee or a PAOPAO Stickbag order 😉. Thank You
I thought I knew how to count until I heard Nic’s drumming... now I trip over my own feet when I try to go for a run listening to Northlane.
Nah you're just not very musical
Hugo Lee that’s true too. Just a fan 🤷♂️
Hugo Lee Dude, what the fuck are you saying? Nic plays in odd time signatures and patterns, you know that right??
@@Hugo_Lee I played drums for 10 years and still can't play something as complex as Nic's parts
