- Starfish is a German shepherd puppy who was born with swimmer's syndrome - she lay flat like a pancake and vets said she'd never walk. But she really wanted to keep up with her family, so she worked SO hard and taught herself to run!

Starfish's story reminds me of "It Mattered to that one" story.
An old man walks along a beach and sees a young boy throwing something into the water. As he approaches, he sees hundreds of starfish lining the beach, washed in from the tide. The young boy is rushing around, throwing the starfish back into the water one by one. The old man asks why he bothers, it’s pointless. There are too many starfish to help them all. Yes! They should be proud. I’m part of the generation that grew up with the first introduction to the internet and social media. I experienced the before and after during my formative years. Soooo many school-aged kids today have known nothing beyond the likes of the plastic Kardashians, plastic Instagram Kardashian wannabes, and Jake Paul. 😱 It’s really quite terrifying and horribly sad. Today’s generations and future generations need more people like this daughter - we need more kind, empathetic/sympathetic, genuine souls.
This video made me cry. The daughter loves this dog so much. She is really a great person. This dog has a much better quality of life now.

Its a fucking dog mate, they are thrilled to pieces smelling buttholes all day. What I learned was that if you're loved just for being you and given excellent healthcare things turn out pretty well. Now if only everyone was treated so well then maybe the world wouldn't be so shitty.

This young lady is amazing and probably an incredible person right now. I am so touched by how mature and responsible she was and is with Starfish. Of course, dogs are so incredibly resilient they really face obstacles with the grace I wish I had. I think both Maggie and Starfish succeeded because of mutual love and respect. My dog had puppies a few years back. One of them called brownie had this syndrome. Poor thing.. She was the runt of the litter.. she'd died a couple weeks later 💔. Bless this dog and rest in peace brownie...

Angels witj families who can afford at least $5k-$8k in medical costs. The real issue isn't people willing to try it's MONEY and the majority of Americans lack of it.

Amazing dog and family. She hit the dog lottery.
They were going to put down my cat due to a brain infection before I got her. Luckily, the person we adopted her from found her and was able to find a surgeon to help. Her eye was removed but she is such a happy, sweet, loving, funny, silly cat! We love her so much.
