- It's happening!
The UK's very first studio podcast for trials. Introducing the presenters and hot topics alongside our already incredible content here on the world's biggest trials TH-cam channel.
This is once again the brainchild of lead presenter Danny Butler and takes an honest look at the trials industry as it is in 2024. No topic is off the table and this is an authentic trial conversation. Taking the experienced opinions of some of the UK's most influential riders. To have an honest conversation is a beautiful thing. We just like to do it about trials.

100% agree with Carrie the championships needs some improving…. All it takes to do this is for the ACU to listen to us
Well, their ears have just been opened!
Fingers crossed that they listen and learn
After round 1 & 2, newsflash, they didn’t’ listen 😱
@@mkgroupuk no doubt there….
Great chat with Carrie. I've only been riding trials properly for a couple of months but I'm really enjoying learning, and I feel it's helping me in the MTB.
I'm having a few weeks off now and riding downhill until fort William WC, but I'll be back!
Monika
Glad you are enjoying the content!! Don’t forget to share and watch out for the midges in FW
Another cracking Podcast\Vlog as funny as ever guys thank you, I was taking pics of Carrie yesterday at very very tough Cleveland Trial she always has the biggest smile on her face your a credit to the sport, Danny it would great if you had a trip up to the six days and did a pod cast so many riders to get to join you and Stu
I would but it comes down to cost up there I afraid
Thanks for the positive feedback 👍🏻👍🏻
Enjoy listening/watching Trials Tube; thank you for this. It has been 10 years since I last rode - when i was still living in Surrey - but this is starting to fire me up to ride again. Very difficult to actually find info online about riding in Hampshire, though. 😔
I am originally from South Africa, and in 1988 I got to ride with Jordi Tarres, John Lampkin, and a few others, in a kick-start type arena trials event. The course was set by Mick Andrews, so got to spend time with the legend that is...!
At that event we also had someone you may, or may not, remember - Tony Scarlett. He was riding the JCM at the time, and he allowed me to have a pootle on has factory bike. That was a "different" bike to say the least.
Also, as an fyi, it was mentioned in this episode that no one has ever died in trials. I lost two friends who colliided between sections at a national in the mid-90s. It does happen.
Danny, it would be great to have a chat with you at some point...I will look for you at VMXdN in August! 😎
Wow the death part is sad news 😵💫😞
Also Tony Scarlett’s talent was very well known late 80’s early 90’s what a hero! Would be great to catch up at VMXdN hopefully by then even Wob’s trials bike will be done 😉
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻👍🏻
Sorry to here about your friends crashing on the trail part of the trial ,
Riders have also died competing in the ISDT
Very good show again. 👏
Amazing comment and thank you! Please don’t forget to take two seconds to share! 🙏🙏
Thanks you 😊
This was cracking again. Nice to see not the only one that does not care for the GG
Each to their own!!!!
Really enjoying this one 👍👍😃
Glad to hear it!
Ace 👍🏻
took me a few mins to work out why the kes photo was there.barnsley of course.
Yes I worked that out also, do love looking what’s on the table every episode is different, well done guys
Mint int it 👍🏻
Nice one Danny great show but i really cant see why you and Stu cant get your fingernails painted.
I am in the salon now!
😂😂😂
Can we hear more about how Carrie has set her bike up please
Good idea
Nice one well done dudes 👏 Kayleigh blushing lol. Worth a mention that youth A have to ride route 1 to score points. Previously they had a choice of a 50/50 or continue on route 2. Whereas an adult you can choose to ride route one or two. Stupid rule not only for a youth A rider but also for the setting up teams having to cater for riders like Kayleigh and Alice/Alicia etc.
Well there we go! From the competitions to the masses
So how many youth A championships should there be for the two, maybe three youth A riders!? With 12 sections you can set a variety of severity sections to cater for all.
@@scottwitting3962 if they set the 4 easy, 4 medium and 4 hard like they said then it’ll work. But the clubs are against it, the ladies on route 1 are against it and the girls on youth a are against it as discussed on our zoom meetings. No one asked and no one voted for it
@@scottwitting3962 Also we'd have more riders turn up if they put a 50/50 on
Brillant 👍🏻
Thank you 🤘✊
2:21 oh dear 🤫
The girls championship is very well supoorted by the girls/ladies that make the trip across from the Isle of Man, approcahing a quarter of riders are Manx. Two rounds in a weekend minimise their travel. Tagging the girls onto the mens would ruin this. Also, tagging the girls to mens would put alot of clubs off running a round, and possibly vise versa too.
Why would the ladies being part of the larger BC put people off…how archaic.
Yes why !!@@TrialTube
I didn't mean it would put riders off, I meant organising clubs. We (Scunthorpe MCC) enjoyed hosting a round last year, but we don't have a venue good enough to host a Trial GB, so wouldn't be able to run a Girls and Ladies. The support from the ACU for us amounted to some printed programme front covers, it's a big effort for a club of volunteers. If the clubs running the Trial GB's also had to run a Girls and Ladies on the Saturday it would be even more effort. Stu made a comment along the lines of 'the girls have their own class at every club trial' that's exactly the point, they don't, they compete with men at every club trial, they want something of their own, and that's what the Ladies and Girls is in its current format.
I agree with the idea of girls one day, men the other but when you put it like that Scott there is another side to it. What a venue walcot is though. I’m still recovering from the walk round 😂
Part of the ladies championship is having all the ladies and girls riding together, supporting each other and socialising in the paddock.
Running the ladies on a Saturday and the men on Sunday could be good for a British championship but how would the youth boy and girls fit into this?
The reason for removing the 50/50 route at the ladies championship was due to there being too many classes & routes. I'm not sure how you could set sections to accommodate youth D through to trial GB in one weekend on one set of sections. If multiple sections are set for the different championships then larger venues are required. The clubs volunteering to run the ladies championship this year wouldn't have the capacity to set additional sections for trial GB at the severity needed.
The ladies championship was initially set up to allow ladies and girls from all over the country to ride together. Over the years it has developed to produce European and World class riders which is fantastic for the sport.
We need to remember there is a wide skill level of female riders who love to ride with other females. The ladies and girls British championship provides this opportunity. I feel this will be lost by combining the men's and ladies championship on the same weekend. The championship will be for the elite riders and not the majority.
Whilst we have some great lady riders and up and coming girls there are currently only a handful of elite female riders who are capable of riding on the same stage as the men.
I think by supporting the grass root riders in their own championship we can encourage females young and old into the sport, give them confidence to progress and the opportunity to learn from their idols at the same competitions. Hopefully this will create more elite riders for the future.
Mega as normal
A review of the montesa 260 and 301 be good now especially with the £1800 off at the minute making a new 260 £5099
Well maybe a dealer can reach out as I don’t know anyone with one….
@@TrialTube would inch perfect trials not help as the stock them all will help shift them no doubt aswell 👍
👍🏻 good idea , come on Honda uk , send bikes
I love Honda , But I've always feared buying The 301RR ,,, seem's like the Other Brands just give You more for Your Money , and its a heavy bike 🐼(Stock 301RR not Toni's obv:) But then again when I look at most of Japans top and semi am riders most have 301RRs (and yes the Other Brands are represented too) but its mostly Honda Cota'301s and some of those city trials look hard AF and the Honda riders are super talented and complete super hard sections on what appear to be pretty standard bikes...maybe I'm wrong and they have full Ti hardware and bespoke internals leaked from HRC , I still want one in the collection , they sound fantastic and have pedigree , I just prefer 2 stroke's 🥰
@@grski900000000000000 best time to buy one at the minute they cheaper than a 2stroke
My van call the the Trust rusty (ford tranist) and Tara the trs
Omg more of it coming out the woodwork lol

Peace out!
Not up me arse 😂 ps what did you say again? ✌️
@@TrialTube don't get up yer arse!
@@ianmargetts9163 I will be honest, it didn’t register 🤣🤣 cheers though
Pretty new to trials and amazed theses days with the total lack of toilet facilities @ trials .That’s obviously ok for blokes, plenty of trees about 😀 ……but off putting for females .Is this a barrier to entry for teens ? The elephant in the corner of the room in these “woke “ days of inequality we all have to navigate through. Nice pod cast btw
Good point and one that needs to be raised!
Sorry but I had to turn off as Carrie’s sniffing after every time she said anything was soooooo annoying.
I will tell our guests in future to suffer in silence lol
Or off mic would be good 👍
@@paultowns9898 she did well considering, she was super ill
