    If you wanna make sure the the layer with screen blending mode doesn't effect your contrast on the background layer, that black should be 0.0.0 RGB. You can make sure it is pure black by holding alt key while editing the overlay in camera raw, and then lower the "blacks" slider until all the blacks become black in that "holding the alt key" preview. Hugs and love

    @ryancooper3629 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    For those looking to create a similar texture but with smaller snowflakes in the frame who don't have a massive black backdrop a simple alternative method is to go outside in the night when its dark, then set up flashes on either side of the camera gridded and angled so the cross right in the middle of your frame without illuminating whatever happens to be behind the snow. This allows you to shoot the snow at virtually any focal length so if you want more of a wide angle look with smaller snowflakes you can without needing to purchase a monstrously huge black backdrop.

    • @IreneRudnyk
      @IreneRudnyk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's a great tip, but as you can see i used a pretty small piece of black fabric, no need for "monstrously huge black backdrop"

    • @ryancooper3629
      @ryancooper3629 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I more meant if you wanted to shoot with a wide angle lens. The backdrop you used would need to be much larger at say 24mm or 35mm.

      I prefer Sigma lenses over Canon now. It's amazing and they're insanely sharp. I use to be all about Canon but once I tried Sigma, I jump quick lol. I can't live without my Sigma art lenses..the 20mm and 85mm. I'm sorry I didn't mean to jump in the conversation but I just want to share my thoughts and personal preferences. Happy shooting! :)

    0:39 For best results, don't forget to attach lens hood backwards like a pro.

    • @IreneRudnyk
      @IreneRudnyk  ปีที่แล้ว

      A pro knows when to use a hood and when not to use it. I always have it on in stored position in case I want to use it but obviously for these shots it wasn’t needed as I like lens flares.

    • @c0ldc0ne
      @c0ldc0ne ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IreneRudnykIf you like flares, then when do you use a hood, when not to protect the front element from falling snow?
