Man thankful for this video I never thought I would get a kill switch but had to make the move since I use my ally to run my DAW on the go or at the studio
This is awesome. I hope they will sell something for the ROG Ally X as well. Looks like some would straight up buy the Ally X, especially those who are not thinking of getting an XG Mobile. Keep up the amazing work! 🙌
The main thing that stopped me from buying this before my steam deck was going to Best Buy and seeing 10 returned ones like a month after it released 🤣🤣🤣
I work at Best Buy, and I think it's bigger than just 'it runs Windows'. Seems a lot of people buy it expecting gaming laptop level performance and that it'll run any game they throw at it with little trouble, and quickly learn it's not nearly that powerful. Though I am now getting 80+ FPS in Cyberpunk with the new update running it with FSR 3.0 and Framegen, which is incredible for a handheld.
For the thumb grips, you should just go with the steam deck version even for the Ally. For a similar or if not the same price, you get a pack with 2 pairs of grips. Better value overall!
LOL, Yeah , if ya own an ASUS device, protect it as best you can, lest you fall victim to their nightmare customer service, sending your device back to them endlessly while they send you send you one, broken, refurb after another trying to make you give up out of frustration.
@@MarxasThomas if you buy it through Best Buy you deal with Best Buy and they have way better customer service so you are good. I’m definitely getting an ally x from Best Buy
@@MarxasThomas If you buy it from Best Buy you deal with Best Buy not Asus. Best Buy has infinitely better customer support than asus so you are good. I’m getting an ally x from Best Buy for sure.
yes! The very best case is the Skull & Co. GripCase. This makes the device significantly more ergonomic as the handles are thickened and the shape is significantly improved. With the KillSwitch, the buttons are very uncomfortable to press because of the case.
@@TheLoneWolf449 I know it from the Steam Deck. As I said, it's simply not suitable for the Rog Ally. I've tested countless grips and they all have the same problems. The only and best is the Grip Case from Scull & Co. I have described the disadvantages of the killswitch case. The case goes near the buttons, which is extremely uncomfortable when pressing the buttons. I know it from other cases. The case has no grip at all. The Scull & co Grip case provides 5 cm more material on the handles and thus provides the previously missing ergonomics. This is the main reason for grip. The handles are enlarged and have great ergonomics. This means it stands without a huge, annoying stand. Another important thing is that the ventilation at the back is free in the long term. I always play at 30w and 100% of the time with this killswitch the device gets hot, the fans get louder, the wear and tear is much higher. Nobody covers the fans on a gaming PC! The part is clunky and impractical and has completely missed its purpose as a grip. You should test the Scull & Co Grip case. This makes the device significantly more ergonomic as the handles are thickened and the shape is significantly improved. In addition, the 4 buttons are freely accessible.
Linus Tech Tips did an ad spot for the killswitch for the Ally. In the spot, he took the ally and slamed it on a table over and over again and there wasn't a scratch on the ally. I mean he went at it and hit it like 15 times, hard. Those are good quality cases. I wish they would do it for the Legion Go
The very best case is the Skull & Co. GripCase. This makes the device significantly more ergonomic as the handles are thickened and the shape is significantly improved. The ventilation is also completely free at the back and the case means the device stands without a stand. In addition, the 4 buttons are freely accessible. With the KillSwitch, the buttons are very uncomfortable to press because of the case. And that's how it is in most cases. It also doesn't improve ergonomics at all. And it completely covers the ventilation. This will damage the device in the long term. Of course, this wasn't noticed during the short test here.
@@AlexB-dj3yxyes because this case came out for the Steam Deck to make fun of the switch and “kill” it because the SD can emulate Switch games. They even have the skins for the SD with Joycon Colors
i got it yesterday. its really nice ...BUT BUT!!! ITS not worth the 100 euros i paid for it!!!! my jsaux mod case for rog ally (i have both white and black) is more than perfect for the 30 euros it cost me... the dbrand just have a better grip , you can even play it with wet hands lets say.. but thats it all. also i dont like the big kickstand of killswitch (not removable) makes docking always problem

It doesn't come across as any project and does not represent the normal use of killswitch, so not the greatest of marketing. It's a protective case that also adds cost to the handheld, albeit wholly optional. Perhaps the expensive handheld manufacturers should provide these with any of their fragile products. I say fragile because that is the vibe I get about the handheld, which ironically, could wok against the manufacturers sales. But then it is ASUS, where the RMA debacle does rather illustrate that they do not have confidence in the build quality of their own product.
Release the too late because that shit is not fixing to fit on the new one and this one has so many issues and no battery life I can't imagine anybody keeping a hold of it.
Good protection, garbage fitment. Not worth the money too many issues fitment varies case by case no qc. Triggers may or may not hit. Volume buttons may or may not work, spacer may or may not help. Top front might look straight or it might be a curvy mess
What "KillSwitch" means, do that means Asus Rog Ally is The Project what wants to kill the King of the Handhelds Nintendo Switch? No way! But about of the King of the Gaming PC Handhelds, Asus Rog Ally would be the King, but the Original Asus Rog Ally, is it still worth it even after The Brand New Asus Rog Ally X what looks more beautiful and powerful? Asus Rog Ally isn't the Best Handheldh gaming PC, in my opinion Onexplayer Fly, Lenovo Legion Go and Steam Deck Oled, defienitkly Steam Deck Oled are better and the King of the Handheld PCs is Steam Deck Oled just because it have an Oled screen! 😊

There are not a lot of skin options like other devices. The case itself is very high quality but I’m a disappointed with the skins
Has the cover affected the usability of the fingerprint sensor in any way?
The lack of hinge on the screen cover is disappointing.

thoughts on this vs the jsaux version?
JSAUX case doesn't even compare. The Killswitch is a much better fit, and way more thought out.
What if you want to remove then put it back
You want a 2 piece combo?
Will these work on the ally x?
No, The Ally X is going to be thicker + they are moving the ports and buttons around, they won't line up with the cut outs on the case.
There are no hardcase for Zephyrus G16 2024. Zero.
