      The earliest known trousers were silken "harem" trousers, worn by women across Asia and north Africa. Still popular to this day, far from clinging to the figure, these are traditionally very baggy.
      Such trousers were worn by women in those regions for all the millennia the populace of one tiny region of the western Mediterranean were wearing long robes, which would eventually evolve into dresses, while dictating that a man shall not wear that pertaining to a woman, and vice versa.

    As a person who has been married for 27 years, to my best friend... You can not break a happy and healthy marriage, no matter how you try. If both partners are happy, they communicate, and all that... Another person just cant break it. Those who stray or cheat, weren't in a happy space to begin with.

    • @razztastic
      @razztastic 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      You are fundamentally misunderstanding relationships due to the privilege of keeping a honeymoon phase for the entire duration of *your* relationship.
      Being with someone isn't a fucking romantic novel, saying those who stray or cheat were never happy with their partner in the first place is naive at best and absolutely incompetent at worst.

    • @cre-k8-ive
      @cre-k8-ive 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      True! I'm not married and it isn't a goal of mine. But this is true of all relationships. If an outside individual is able to break a relationship, it wasn't very stable to begin with. And seeing that can help you decide what needs to be done. Are the people in the relationship each wanting to put in effort to rebuild? If not, you can say goodbye without hate knowing you made the right choice.
      I think what people feel most upset about is there's an implication that divorce is a failure. If we stop phrasing it as "Here's how to communicate so you don't get divorced", I think people are happier to listen.

    • @Just_Reading_Comments
      @Just_Reading_Comments 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +37

      @@razztastic I think you misunderstood the comment. When OP wrote “Those who stray or cheat, weren’t in a happy space to begin with” they aren’t talking about from the beginning of the relationship. They simply meant for someone to cheat there had already been a breakdown in the relationship before the cheating occurred, which is true. Just because you refer to your partner as your best friend and espouse communication doesn’t mean someone is in “a honeymoon phase”, those are quite literally key points in a healthy relationship and not just things in a fucking romantic novel. Real relationships are hard work. Cheating doesn’t just mysteriously happen out of nowhere and another person can’t cause someone who is in a happy, healthy, fulfilling marriage to cheat. Which is all @SprinkleFallingleaf was saying.

    • @mommy2libras
      @mommy2libras 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's one of the stupidest things I've heard. Plenty of people are happy in their relationships at one point only to find themselves unhappy, or at least discontent, years later. This can be due to life circumstances, traumatic events or even just the fact that people can grow and change over time. Very few people are the same people in their 40s and 50s that they were in their teens and 20s and plenty of factors can affect how they think of themselves, the world, their place in it and their dreams and aspirations between those years to make what made them insanely happy at 22 no longer make them happy at 38. Or I guess you've never come across some young couple who fell deeply in love, married, had a child and were happy as hell for 5-7 years only to find out that after maturing a bit, they wanted different things out of life than they thought they did right out of high school because they learned in the interim that the world was much larger than they ever imagined. Or one became more selfish as time went on. Or developed a substance abuse issue. Or one of the hundred other things that arises between formerly happy couples every day. Seeing as you've only ever experienced being you, you have no authority to say whether or not anyone else was "really happy" or "actually" loved each other or not.

    • @anonymouscommentor411
      @anonymouscommentor411 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mommy2librasI think you're like the other person and misunderstood the OP. The OP is saying that if you cheat on your partner, then you weren't in a happy relationship at that specific time. You can't be actively in a mutually loving and fulfilling relationship and simultaneously be willing to cheat with anyone who asks. Those two things are contradictory behaviours.

    Everytime I hear the pronoun argument I laugh at the ignorance. 90% of English pronouns don't even relate to gender. So saying we shouldn't have pronouns means taking away words like I, You, somebody, everybody, etc.
    Edit: According to what I looked up it seems like there's even more pronouns than I thought and they're broken up into seven categories: the personal pronoun, the demonstrative pronoun, the interrogative pronoun, the relative pronoun, the indefinite pronoun, the reflexive pronoun, and the intensive pronoun. Apparently there's hundreds of pronouns in the English language and about 80 of them are gender related. Fun little facts.

Also, the general template of the flag is literally the war flag of the Third Reich, AND, also, there's an eagle holding a swastika (that's the most Nazi shit ever), and the Iron Cross (which is not necessarily Nazi, it's more of a Prussian Kingdom/German Empire thing in general, but swastika + Iron Cross = big Nazi energy).

      If someone came up to me saying women shouldn't be wearing jeans cause it sexualizes then, I'd tell them, 'yup they sure they do, that's why I wear boys jeans instead!"
      For context, I'm like under five and half feet tall, with somewhat curvy hips, and I have a very hard time finding women's jeans that fit me. They're either too long, too small (can't get them over my hips if I get them to fit my waist area), or too big overall/too big in the back and tend to pooch out in the back (if I get them big enough to go over my hips, they're too big around my waist, as I have a smaller waist line than my hips are wide). So as a result, most of my shopping for jeans tend to be done in the Boys section, cause Boys jeans and slacks have an adjustable waistband inside, so I can just tighten them or loosen them at my waist as needed.
      Also, POCKETS!!! 😃
      Also, I'd like to add, if u wanna sexualize boys jeans (not mens, BOYS) on someone who doesn't completely 100% identify as female (I'm afab), good luck. Have fun with that. Cause not only are you sexualizing a female bodied person (ugh all on its own) whos not even remotely trying to look "sexually appealing as a female", but u're also sexualizing minors/childrens clothing as well, so double ugh! Any discriminating thing u say after that in regards to my clothing choices is just gonna make u sound like a pedo, so have fun with that, lol.

      I've seen plenty of clueless people in the bdsm scene who think they're doms or something but are actually just pushy thirsty creepos. The sub ones are even creepier because they're much more thirsty and deluded. "I wanna live the lifestyle 24/7" types. Consent doesn't really exist in their minds because all they know is "I want it! Gimme gimme!!". They're the ones who never find a partner and then act like everyone in the community is a snob or something like that. Totally clueless people with unrealistic desires.

    Bdsm is way more about respect than people (especially this person) might think. The participants respect each other's boundaries, red zones and safety words. It's also very much about trust. You trust your partner(s) enough to do these things that in other scenarios could be considered abusive. And trust that all participants feel safe with one another. It is a deep bond, rooted in trust and respect. I've met my fair share of "vanilla guys" who have had little to none respect for women. With that said, of course it is possible for someone with an interest in bdsm to lack respect. I have spoken to a few doms/sadist's (hetero men in this case) who basically praise and are in awe of their female partner for letting them do these things. A serious sadist always has the masochist's safety in mind and would stop before doing actual harm. Don't forget, it's about mutual pleasure. Consider it a role play if that makes it easier.
    Warning: oversharing here, but relevant... I've experienced sessions where the sadist had to call it quits because they were too uncomfortable with the amount of pain they were inflicting. Remember, everyone involved in a proper bdsm session is aware of the safety word, has the right to stop it at any given moment and has given their consent.
    I'm usually not very open about my preference, but I feel that the stigma has to end.
    Wishing you all a beautiful day ❤
    Love from Sweden

      I am definitely the sub/masochist and my partner is a fantastic example of a dom/sadistic partner. [For us] so much of the experience involves mental games/play. My partner has a great phrase he shared with me…something like “the masochist says ‘punish me’ and the sadist says ‘no’” and I feel like that is quite fitting for our dynamic. Oh a whim I made little punch cards for him to use when I am being naughty (usually for incredibly silly things) and he has teasingly told me he is going to use one of the cards to “really” punish me…by having me do a household chore instead of any other kind of “punishment” 😆 LMAO

    As a woman who is deeply into BDSM, I can assure you that it is entirely consensual between all parties involved. It's about trust, at its deepest level, and feeling secure enough with your partner to give them control over you. In many regards, the submissive is actually the one with the most control over the situation, as they can say "no" to anything the dominant brings up, if they aren't okay with it. BDSM is a bonding experience, and it allows submissives and dominants to explore their likes and dislikes in a safe and controlled environment.

Before we did ANYTHING, they had me sit down and explicitly tell them what I was uncomfortable with so that they wouldn’t cross me at all. As someone who watched one parent abuse the other, and faced a lot of abuse myself, I don't believe in "making it work" if the problems aren't being addressed or can't be resolved. I believe in trying, totally. But I also believe in the healing power of walking away before it gets toxic. If a marriage has gotten to the point where my partner is cheating (which as a poly person is not letting me know who they sleep with, or hiding who they sleep with, or sleeping with someone who has caused harm to me), then we should've stopped a while back. I care more about my partner's happiness than keeping something going just because it's -been- going. If the two are incompatible situations, I'm not letting us enter into a miserable abusive relationship for the sake of longevity.

Apart from a chimp and boar can definately tank a fair few bullets before going down. The chimp is honestly the most baffeling thing on that list and the fact it's at the top of the win catagory implying he thought of that first is insane.

      My son is colorblind so I've seen firsthand how bothersome it can be for the individual that suffers from the affliction. Personally, it intrigues me, I'd like to see what he sees around himself if even only temporarily. However he would gladly give it away permanently if he could so that he could see normally. Red tinted glasses help him to differentiate colors that normally get mixed up for him but it's still not the same.
      There is some advantage to it though which he does pride himself in. He can see shade differences in any type of color, even white, that is practically invisible to people whom see on the ordinary spectrum. That ability to make out different shades really comes through at night because it allows the individual to make out the different shades far more clearly. It's not like perfect night vision but it saves you a lot of stubbed toes or getting startled by stepping on the cat's tail on a bathroom break at night.
      As a brief aside; In the second world war the US Army scrounged for well educated, colorblind individuals to analyze black & white aerial photographs due to their ability to see through the clutter of trees, camo, etc. to what might be hidden in the images. This again relates to their sensitivity to different shades.

    1 problem in the bedroom = I hate hearing this. Just because a person doesn't want to have adult fun time with you doesn't give you the right to cheat and it's disgusting that someone would use that as a reason.
    2 unappreciated or unrespected = This is the only (somewhat) valid one but even still leave instead of cheat. You could find someone who treats you better.
    3 curiosity = This is in no way shape or form a reason to cheat on someone and using it as an excuse tells a lot.
    4 you let yourself go = What does that even mean to a person. There are so many instances where they got a little bigger and are suddenly the grossest thing on earth. The term ''let yourself go'' always correlates to ''I don't find you attractive anymore'' and its bull. He knew what he was doing when he did this. A lot of men want the best out of a woman and if they don't always give the best they can at all times then they "Let themselves go"
    It's not a thing with young people either. They realize more often than not that they should, could, and would have better and to not have half-formed excuses. They just take less crap. It should be up to the women in the relationship. If they have a problem speak on it. We cant beam into their heads to see what's wrong. If you hate the relationship so much that you want to cheat leave but don't blame the person because you decided to take a different route instead of talking about your feelings. Even if you were with a person for a long time it all still applies.
    If a person is treating you so bad in a marriage. Who cares how long you were together for, leave. You shouldn't have to fix an entire marriage by yourself for someone who doesn't see its worth in trying to fix it.

  • @deletedflame8424
    @deletedflame8424 2 ปีที่แล้ว +204

    I understand where the guy with the cheating stories is coming from but he absolutely took the wrong approach in my opinion. It is one thing to try to draw attention to the fact that relationship problems need to be adressed before they become big fundamental issues. However, the second someone is ready to cheat the relationship is already done and to cheat at that point instead of leaving is a horrible thing to do. Both parties are responsible for relationship issues, but only the cheater is responsible for their own infidelity, regardless of other circumstances.
    If someone cheated on me and said it was because I was doing something that made them unhappy I would laugh in their face. The reldationship would have failed due to my failings as well because I didn't make my partner happy. Both me and them would also likely be responsible for not communicating enough but the cheating would be on them and them alone and I would make sure they know that.
    By using cheating as an example he likely only attracted comments from people who have a very hardline stance on it or people who have been hurt in the past. Not to mention that the husband cheating post likely simply got more attention because in the past it has been a very popular narrative to tell women that they are responsible for men's bad behaviour (people getting more angry at a mistress rather than the one actually betraying their partner, wives being told they can't complain about cheating if they aren't fulfilling their husband's every need regardless of their own desires, girls in school having to follow more restrictive dress code with the reasoning that it's distracting to male students and teachers).
    The comments probably were a cesspool of hate, that is true, likely they were just uninformed hot takes written in the spur of the moment. But I do not think that OP took into account surrounding culture and historical issues that are deeply intertwined with these things and thus came to the wrong conclusion regarding the meaning of these dismal responses.

    • @areafire1
      @areafire1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +78

      Yeah. The moment I saw that whole bit, I felt bitter. The presentation of the video also seemed to take the stance of blaming the victim. Like "everybody is equally responsible" shit. A couple can break up from the same reasons just fine without cheating. The person who crosses the equally agreed upon boundary is definitely in the wrong. And he just doesn't seem to consider the long and well documented social expectation that "a women is to blame if their man does them wrong".

      Also, if the people really HAVE communicated their issues to their partner and nothing has gotten better - then yes, they should leave. If your partner doesn't respect you and isn't willing to put the effort into the relationship that you want or need (Reasonable or otherwise), the next step there is to LEAVE. Break up. Disengage. Not go looking for whatever you want or need from your partner from another person.

    • @hawkeyescoffee6399
      @hawkeyescoffee6399 2 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      I was going to say just that, regarding the culture of blaming women. It's an important factor to take into account because for so long we have been blamed for our men's action. If men cheat itxs clearly our failings. And we've heard that enough that it is, unfortunately, a knee-jerk response to hit back or get angry.
      He also didn't take into account that although the videos might be presenting the same information from the same person...it means one is a man talking to men, and the other is a man talking to women. And on top of being fed up of being blamed for their wrong doing, we're also fed up of men putting us down, telling us what to do, or what we're doing wrong. And so it just comes across as a man making excuses for their bad behaviour. I cannot say for sure that the info would have been better received if it had come from another woman. It would have eliminated a fair amount of the feelings & accusations regarding misogyny, and also the feelings of "Oh, here we go, another man making excuses for men's bad behaviour". Though, it might have introduced other things, such as internalised misogyny or en something like "girl, you've been brainwashed", but likely the responses would have been less of a call to arms that many seem to have been.
      Also, I'm sorry, but you also can't accurately conduct social experiments like that on tik tok either. It's just a flawed "experiment" from the start because of the way the algorithm on there works. And he said some comments were "now do one for women" & he used the response "it's right there next to it", but that's the problem: people don't always see both, they might get one on their fyp but not the other. Or they may get them hours, days or even weeks apart. That's why you see these people who do tests for "comment on which version you saw (first) on your fyp", and many responses will be that they only saw one (and then went to their account to see the other). So, I just don't think you can really extrapolate much about the views, just because of the way tik tok works. People aren't guaranted to be presented with both vids side-by-side & then able to decide which to click on; and in some cases don't get a choice about what they're even seeing. So those people leaving the vid, may have realised it's not of interest rather tha his opinion of "women not wanting to listen" or whatever he was trying to say. I mean, the reason the men's one got so many less views could simply be the algorithm wasn't showing it to people.
      And just because the responses tended towards "then he should/can leave rather than cheating" doesn't mean people don't care about relationships or the people they love. It means they're fed up of bs excuses. Because if they reached the point of things are s nbad they're thinking about cheating or on the verge of giving in to temptation, then why don't they stop themselves and talk to their partner, maybe even suggest counselling. And let's not forget that sometimes the problem is from the cheater themselves. Why put it on the spouse who was (or would be) cheated on. Someone being unhappy in their relationship isn't always down to the other person and the solution can't always come from them.
      Obviously, I didn't see the original vid in question so only have his snippets to go off about it, but the way it seems to me, some _are_ just excuses. I mean "they let themself go" is no reason to cheat. The person doesn't owe their spouse to maintain a specific weight, dress sense, etc. (What happened to "in sickness & in health" etc?), people get comfortable when they're with some one a long time, itxs not that they stop bothering or putting in the effort, it's that they're comfortable enough to feel they don't need to do what they did before like, idk put on a full face of glanced up make up and constantly dress in their nicest clothes, rather than chilling in sweat pants & hoodie with hair in a messy bun & no make up. And of course women will get upset with that accusation levelled at them as an excuse for a husband cheating, because we're constantly having ridiculous beauty standards & expectations pushed on us, so in cases like that where they do go from glamming it up every day to comfy clothes and fresh faced...that is often a compliment to the partner. It's not saying they aren't worth the effort, it's saying they feel relaxed enough they don't feel the need to do those things, they can instead just be them and can relax. It's kinda like taking off your uncomfortable shoes when you come home from work. And, on top of that, of course also some women who just don't have the time or energy to put into that when they're dealing with kids and running the house; who's going to glam up to vacuum the house, do the school run, wash socks or dishes etc.
      And I expect it woud be disproportionate that women will be upset over "letting themselves go" because men rarely will have that same expectation constantly put on them by society, nor do they often get that accusation pointed at them. And although he said he didn't mention weight, he just said "let themself go" that is used often enough to imply "they put on weight" that people/women will naturally assume that is what you're implying. Which of course will anger them.
      He also seems to be ignoring that anything other than the binary genders of man & woman, within heteronormative relationships exist. 🤦
      If he really was interested in conducting valid sociological research about how different binary genders respond to the subject then he needs to find a more valid methodology. 🤷
      TL;DR his "experiment" showed nothing except that he doesn't understand scientific method... or women.

    Videos stating the "Why so and so Cheats" is telling younger adults that you need to make your marriage work no matter what. We have miserable grandparents and great grandparents because staying married for the sake of society is not healthy. Marriage is now a business contract more than love and family. As someone who married an abuser ( didnt show till after wedding), take your time to find yourself, the one you want to be with and marry. Dont rush and if you feel a certain way that makes you stop and think, take that time to think and make sure you are ready. And if after all that and its not working, its ok to part ways.

    • @torgranael

      I don't see the point of marriage in the first place. If people want to be together, just be together.

    • @Revelwoodie
      @Revelwoodie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Marriage has always been a "business contract," actually. If you just want to spend your life with someone you love, you don't need marriage to do that. Marriage is a legal institution that formalizes certain financial obligations, so that people have the security to be able to make decisions they wouldn't want to make without a stable partnership. Like having children, or buying a house.
      And yes, that does mean that people get "trapped" in unhealthy relationships. It's not the marriage itself that traps you, or anything to do with "society," it's the financial commitments you've taken on, like raising children, homeownership, or other major assets. And perhaps even more importantly, the sacrifices one partner may have made to facilitate those choices, like leaving their career to raise children, or investing an inheritance in shared assets. If you've made a sacrifice like that, you can't just leave. Not without serious financial consequences.
      Yes, people may end up "trapped." And that is exactly what marriage is for - to "trap" each other, so you can make those big shared commitments without fear. If you already know that you don't want children and aren't interested in pursuing homeownership, you don't need to get married.
      EDIT: And thank god you got out, by the way.

    30:00 About the cheating.
    Okay, you know what? I was that person. The person who believed you could fix it with putting in the effort. But my partners never wanted that. They never wanted to put in the effort or fix anything.
    They realized it was over, and they cheated and when they did, they had already made up their mind.
    I suggested fixing it.
    I suggested working on the flaws.
    But they disliked me as a person and partner and didn't have the guts to say so.
    One even admitted to not wanting to ever change from his attitude of his partner being a mum who does everything for him (I suggested splitting housework, he never complied, and I ended up being coerced into doing everything.)
    So...No.
    It's not true that no one believes in marriage anymore. Or relationships.
    What is true to me, is that you gotta let go what you gotta let go.

      @@Fledhyris Or the fact that, until the 19th century clothes weren't gendered at all. Before then it was more of a show of your social position rather than anything to do with gender. Men not only wore skirts, they also wore tights underneath! Skirts have been worn by _both_ men and women for thousands of years - in fact, it's the second oldest piece of clothing in existence (the oldest found so far is at least 5,000 years old) with the dress being the first - again wore by both men and women alike. Also, high-heels were invented for men, to make them look taller and therefore more "affluent" in the eyes of society. Pants came much later and were originally worn underneath a skirt or dress to help keep the legs warm, more than tights were able to (they were called pantaloons which is where the term "pants" comes from). Eventually, there was a split where some started to wear trousers over the top and others just wore the pantaloons as if they were trousers. It's why in the USA you call them pants, whereas for many European countries "pants" refer to underwear.
      I for one am glad we are finally getting back to clothing being less about gender. Clothing shouldn't be gendered in the first place, and has only been this way for a teeny tiny fraction of said clothing's existence. Bout time this dumb fad faded away!!

    1. had no insight into their own feelings and didn't reflect on their urges before acting OR

    That cheating one is honestly ridiculous. People are always more reactionary online. Looking at Tiktok comments on a purposefully ragebaiting video and going "this is a problem with society as a whole" is stupid. The idea that people don't care about marriage anymore is a talking point used by people that want to make getting a divorce harder. That would be very dangerous for reasons I don't think I need to get into. I can guarantee 99% of the people in those comments, if married, would put some effort into helping with the marriage to make it work, assuming the dissatisfied partner communicated with them. If the dissatisfied partner went straight for cheating instead of trying to work things out, that's another story. I honestly don't know why The Click left that point in the video unchallenged. The only good points he made were about people not watching the whole video and the other video not getting as much traction. Everything else was BS. I'm honestly really frustrated about this.

      Yeah completely agree with you. Watching the video I thought the conclusion was going to be different, like how there's a gender bias ["Why your *husband* cheats on you" getting more views, pointing either men cheating is a huge issue OR (can't disregard,cause like you said, this was a badly done experiment) people care more about women getting cheated that men going through the same] or how it's easy to farm views about heavy topics. When he said "Nobody wants to put the work" it completley confused me. Definitely either wrong conclusion or wrong type of experiment.

      Honestly when the video started with "so I did a social experiment" that was immediately a big red flag that there was going to be a bad conclusion at the end. A random dude on tiktok is not going to have the knowledge to properly conduct an experiment and control for all the possible variables that would influence the results. And indeed, he didn't.

    The story that made me laugh most was the woman not wanting her son to learn a second language. From my knowledge of educational psychology I can state that learning a second language gives you an effective 6 point IQ boost on average with some language pairings (EG an English Speaker learning German or an Italian learning Spanish) that will boost that to possibly 10.

      It also helps people have a better quality of life for longer when they suffer from Alzheimer. It's shocking how much damage the brain of even a bilingual person can take before showing serious symptoms compared to a unilingual person.

    When The Click said some people want to be angry, he is 100% correct. It feels fricking amazing to be angry! You can get back at that person who made you angry, you can insult them, punch them and unleash all the things that they did to you right back at them. But you should always try to remember, being angry feels really good, until your not angry anymore. Then you have to make amends, face punishment and be disgraced and humiliated for your actions by all the people who care about you. But the neat thing about social media, no one will force you to make amends or face punishment. Some disgrace and humiliation, but not face to face. So people can insult and hurt anyone online because they won’t get anything bad back.

      even better, social media has a constant stream of things to be angry about, so you might not even enter that period of self-reflection after a fit of rage. Considering how chronically online some people are, they may not even physically have the time to calm down.. and that's how twittards are born :DDD

      Honestly, I find the feeling of being angry really unpleasant and distressing. I'm also extremely conflict-averse. Nevertheless, I do sometimes engage with content that makes me angry, as I feel I have a moral obligation to be informed about this fucked-up world even if it makes me want to take an antacid and lie down. Just my personal experience, though. I'm glad you find anger cathartic and empowering.
