- This is a full video build of the 1/48 scale @OfficialAirfix Hawker Hunter, the F.5 variant. The model depicts WP190 of No.1 Squadron RAF, which operated in the ill-fated Operation Muskateer, Suez 1956.
The video may feel a little disjointed, as halfway through I completely lost all my modelling mojo, badly. It did feel as if it would never come back! But back I am.
Thanks to @ChampionScaleModelling for cutting masks.
I hope you enjoy this vid as it taken a long time coming....

Thank you mate. I’d loved to have had your job..
Hi Tim the Hawker Hunter has always been my favourite jet and that is a superb build and paint job. Best wishes Vic.
Cheers Vic, my fav jet too.. oh and the FRS.1 Harrier. Thanks for you wishes mate
Thank goodness for mojo restoration. What a beauty 👍🍺
Also the video production is awesome. Great stuff.
Thank you Otto.. I’m not actually back to full mojo yet, I’d guess I’m running at 60%. Great comment mate ta 😍
@@TimsScaleModelling when I’m keen to build I’m too tired after work, when I’m full of energy I can’t be bothered😂
It’s a fine balance definitely Otto, best not force it
Mojo is a nightmare, we all loose it from time to time. But thankfully it returned with excellent results. Absolutely love the cold war jet. Great work. Happy modelling.
Thank you Mark
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you Les 😊

Thank you Rich. I’m not a regular content creator, this is just a hobby in itself mate, but any subscription is greatly appreciated 😉
Pink Primer for yellow, interesting, nice work Tim👍👍
Works well James
Absolutely stunning Tim. Probably my favourite build on the channel. Thank you
Hi Les, thank you so much mate… really means a lot 😎😎😍
So pleased to see you back Tim, I've really missed the channel. Take care pal.
Thanks Al, I’ll try and more content up but in this heat it’s difficult to sit at the bench… 😥
That's a nice model. Your spraying is superb and the finish is top notch. When I buy paint I usually buy two bottles and thin one for spraying and keep the other for brushing. I hate thinning down small drops of paint unless its unavoidable. As for the cockpits I think the accurate scaling only applies to the outside dimensions of the model and interiors, like cockpits tend not to be scaled that well.
Thanks Allen. That’s where MRP is so convenient as it’s pre-thinned
Superb!
Thanks Jake
Great job!!!
Great to see you have found your mojo Tim,that's a cracking Hunter build.
Cheers Steve, honestly mate I thought it was over.. anyway, let’s crack on!
Beautiful job 👍
loving it!
Great build,Tim. Good to see you back!
Cheers Drew
Great build thanks for the video, I've just bought the same model so think I'll have a go. It's out of my comfort zone because I usually build tanks so thank goodness people do build videos.
Yey great model
Cheers Rup
Excellent
Lovely build, great to see you back Tim :)
Cheers Deano
Beautiful job, Tim. Glad that you've got your mojo back but know how you feel when it goes away. Just let the 'boy' out when it happens.....kinda works for me..... mostly. Hope it all works well for you although it's important to have a break when needed.
Cheers Robbo
Hi Tim, so good to see you back at the bench. Was wondering about you just the other day. 🙋🏼♂️👍🏻😊
Hi Timbo 🙏🏻 I’m back but still a bit flaky 🤡🍺🍺🍻🍻
@@TimsScaleModelling keep at it buddy 😊👍🏻 Your work space videos inspired me to make the best use of my limited space (in our spare room) take care 🤗
Great stuff Timbo
Fantastic build and finish, glad you got your mojo back to finish it. Yes to more Cold War aviation (obviously 😂), and yes for more Suez crisis builds. So many options, with, British, French, Israel and Egypt builds 🤔
I’ll see what I can do Jets… 😉
That resin cockpit isn't bring much extra to the party to be fair.
No Typhoon it didn’t really. We live and learn. Thanks for stopping by 👍
Should have build the Belgian one 🙂
Hello Tim I have just found your channel can I ask a quick question what airbrush and compressor do you use I am looking at getting a good set up thanks for your time. Carl
Hi Carl, thanks for watching mate. Airbrush is mostly a Badger Renegrade Krome powered by a Sparmax compressor.
Thanks for the reply tim much appreciated I have just got back into modelling after 20 plus years really enjoying your videos thanks again all the best. Carl
Great build. Why do my Airfix starter kits never look like this
Thank you Jelly, you’re too kind
Hey I have a special request, could you build a bf 109 E with a paint job from a game I like? Blazing angels! It has a small yellow tip just on the propeller and it has a commen broken glass styled green and dark green camouflage a number 12 and a white stripe on the back here you can use this for reference. If you can't that's fine but i would love to see this as a tribute to a wonderful game of my childhood and many other people's child hoods! ❤️ the audience will love it!!!!
Disregarded the third colour scheme, why? Not everyone wants to build a raf version.
