Don;t get me wrong, I am an admirer of well played synth music (fan og Geogio Moroder for instance), but I think if you are trying to emulate a different instrument, you are better off using the real thing.

The original is with an mechanical syth imo better sounding than bagpipes.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the sound of bagpipes, but what makes the original special is the semi mechanical sound of the mellotron.

Man, why didn't OMD use real pipes? The tune positively calls for them.
