Jemima's actress (in the film) has one of the most beautiful singing voices I've ever heard in musicals/plays... I remember when I was a kid watching this for the first (and millionth) time and her voice just filled me with thrill and warmth.

I, also, feel like there are some indications in this specific production of "Cats" that both Mistoffelees and Munkustrap are Deuteronomy's youngest and oldest sons (with Rum Tum Tugger in the middle). It's not necessarily intentional and obviously up for interpretation but, once you introduce that idea into your head, I swear you start to see little things that seem to support those relationships and it's really interesting. 'Cause if you do interpret it in that way, for that camera movement, you are not only looking at 3 ages of cats, in general, but Deuteronomy's own family line (his personal next generation).
I love this version of Cats, I have a massive obsession with it and have always respected Ken Page’s astounding vocals. It was only recently I found out he was Oogie Boogie in Nightmare Before Christmas. When my friend broke the news to me today, I was devastated. Thank you, Ken Page. Rest in peace.

When I was young and saw this, what they were doing really confused me (although I still loved it), so I looked it up and found out that the Tantomile and Coricopat are just actual psychics and not just cliche twins doing everything the same time. I rewatch the whole thing after that looking only at what they do and started seeing other parts where it's demonstrated. Like how the other cats look for their confirmation if old D is really coming or not, before starting to celebrate.

This song NEVER fails to make me cry and/or tear up. Ken Pages voice is heavenly. Then when the girl who plays Jemima starts singing, if the tears weren't flowing already, they start when Jemima starts singing. This is my favorite production of cats.
I first heard this song at 3 years old. I feel my brain developed in a specific way because my parents exposed me to him and theatre. I called my mom immediately when I heard, her a long time lover of Mary Martin, Rita Moreno, and other greats. She immediately was sad at such a loss of such a great performer. His art spans generations and we love him so much.I hope he knew that!
Ken Page is a true master. Helen kills her role but arguably Ken's is one of the hardest in the show, up there with Grizabella. Songs like this are very far up north in the tenor range so Ken's really flexing in this piece, but everyone wants to praise Jemima. like ok she did a good job. but behold this man's heavenly pipes!!

I love that moment when poor old Gus is walking away, perhaps feeling scared or perhaps that he is too old and not worthy of performing, like the younger cats, and Deuteronomy gently takes his trembling hands, and comforts him, and encourages dear Gus to stay and sing for him, and Jellylorum holds his hand and gently guides him back to his place. They are telling him, without saying a single word, that they want him to stay there with him, and perform his beautiful song, and in the end, even the Fiend of the Fell bowed to Gus and honored him and deemed him worthy. I also notice in this moment, that even when the camera is not focused on them, just on Gus's trembling hands, Jellylorum's hand is resting on his knee or she is nuzzling Gus when he returns to his place...not invading his space, but just there, to comfort him, as a friend. She is very sweet with him. And when beautiful Gemima pipes up with Memory, we see her holding hands, as well...constantly supporting each other, just with physical contact.

Every time I hear Jemima’s voice I start crying but it’s not a sad cry, it’s a happy cry that I get to hear her voice! I’m so grateful I got to play her in at my school and my acting place I used to go to, it was a great experience.

Every time I hear Jemima’s voice I start crying but it’s not a sad cry, it’s a happy cry that I get to hear her voice! I’m so grateful I got to play her in at my school and my acting place I used to go to, it was a great experience.
