    Engelbert needs to be replaced, seriously! For the wnba to not be solvent under her watch PLUS messing up the CC explosion where the wnba looks absolutely terrible reflects on her. She needs to go.

    Here's my first observation. Do you know Nellie Korda's reaction to being overshadowed at a golf event by Caitlin Clark, the non-golfer? It was basically that they may be here to see the waltzing bear, but they're here and they can't help but see me too in the process. I don't have to be the center of attention, just the recipient of the benefits of that attention. If only a fraction of the people who came to see Caitlin are impressed by the skills of the golfers and come back for the next event when Caitlin isn't there,that small fraction is a small fraction that we didn't have beforehand. That's the expressed opinion of Korda. That's the top golfer in the world at a golf event. The reaction of the WNBA was basically, alright, who's going to get the next bounty for flagrantly fouling the smart-ass straight white girl?

    The WNBA needs to get a new Commissioner who isn’t bowing to DEI influence and clearly has no concept of how to market the league via Caitlin Clark’s popularity. Acknowledging the Rookie of the Year with a phone call during a pregame warmup is absolutely disrespectful the the player and the league as a whole but lit’s classless WNBA commissioner!!! :(:(:(

    The WNBA (commissioner) got so wrapped up in thinking that CC & Reese were the new Bird & Majic that they forgot about how dominant her skills (CC) are/was…. And what has happen now is that the WNBA is confuse about how to increase their own revenue.

    • @geraldwashingtonsr1546

      You is so right! Cathy Engelbert is still trying to push that black vs white. Remember she try pushing Clark vs Angel! That didn't work,because Angel is not on Clark's level!
      So now they are trying to push AJ Wilson against C Clark! Cathy Engelbert need to retire,, she still living in the past! CC is on another level, , in women's basketball! There's no one black or white is on her level! Nor transgender!
      It's Cathy Engelbert, that is against Clark and so is Nike! CC can sue, Cathy Engelbert, WNBA and she can sue Nike! Because all three of them, are discriminating against CC! Plus Cathy Engelbert have gone too far,, she is the one that condoning. How they are treating Clark! She is the one that gave the green light, too the opposing teams players. Bullying her with all those hits to Clark's body. The hits too her head, plus the fingers in Clark's eye. The bad calls an no calls against CC. By the Referees, Cathy Engelbert is the reason all that happening against Clark!
      CC have so much prove against them!
      She needs too sue all of them!

      @@geraldwashingtonsr1546the commissioner needs to go with Angel Reese, band them both.

    • @heinleinreader
      @heinleinreader วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Especially when both Bird and Magic had mad skills. The same can't be said about Angel Reese's Cup. She is a bricklayer on the court and a future greeter at Walmart or Costco. Caitlin Clark has mad skills indeed, and there are a couple of others I would have paired he with. Sabrina Ionescu is one. The proposed idea of having Sabrina and Caitlin go head to head with Klay and Steph in a 2 on 2 three pointer contest is a really good one. Had the WNBA shut down the flagrant foul headhunting right away, and had they done this sort of marketing at the outset, they would be far better off. The attendance for the All-Stars v. the Olympic team was high. The attendance at the US Olympic team games was pitiful. They could have had attendance at the games. Just put Caitlin Clark on the roster. There were at least four players that she was performing better than at the time. You wouldn't even have to give her significant minutes. Work her in for 3-5 minutes a game and that would have done it. That's exactly what the Dream Team did with Laetner. They found a couple of minutes a game for him, even if they were garbage time minutes. And the league should have investigated the vote for ROTY and found out who voted for Reese's Cup despite her clearly flawed candidacy. My view is basically, too little, too late. I would not blame Clark if she played out her current contract then signed with one of the European leagues. They know how to treat top tier talent. Just a few observations and perceptions.

    • @heinleinreader
      @heinleinreader วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@geraldwashingtonsr1546Actually, the nearest I can see is one of the few that spent about three days of "We need to see her work, but she looks good." Before seeing her in action and jumping on her bandwagon in support of her. That was Sabrina Ionescu. She is slightly less skilled a shooter, but she and Steph Curry are long-term friends and both saw raw potential in her that she has worked hard to achieve. It was her idea that she and Caitlin do that charity contest of 3-point shooting at the All-star game against Steph and Klay. That's what the approach should have been from go.

    Engelbert is a HUGE problem for the WNBA. She seems determined to make the wrong move at every turn. I don’t know if it’s the militant players or the UCONN mafia or what but she is incapable of making any sort of viable decision for this league. Fire her and get someone who understands pro sports and how to successfully lead an organization

    • @heinleinreader
      @heinleinreader วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I don't think it's UCONNVICT, as that's where Ionescu went, that's where Sue Bird went. While Bird hasn't heaped massive praise on Clark, neither has she been overly derogatory of her. Ionescu is one of the few players that has actually been in Caitlin's corner defending her against the assault parade. Most of the rest of the UCONNVICT alumni are mostly indifferent, pretending that Clark doesn't even exist. Head in the sand ninnies if you will. One of her biggest detractors, still on the warpath, is the UCONNVICT coach. Also Cheryl Swoopes, too. Those two are the biggest. But Stephen A has been quite vocal in his defense of her. There are things I have objected to with Stephen A, however he earned major bonus points for that.

    The WNBA with the exception of a few players, 'new players' in the league, are just women trying to remain relevant in an ever changing environment of new players with exceptional skills. ie...they're just jealous and unable to change with the times. I'm really sorry for your old ladies. Your previous star power is just lagging behind in the glory of your past. If you can't get with the new game, get OUT OF THE WAY.

    Michael did overshadow the rest of the NBA. Do you know what happened? The rest of them worked harder and the league eventually caught up. Players got better that were coming into the league. There was a time when $35 million a year would have been unheard-of. Today it's not even the top salary.

    I love women’s college basketball, but it’s like I don’t even know the WNBA is there. Actually there are some fantastic players I’ve watched coming up during their college years, but no interest in them now. The WNBA brand is not anywhere near as influential as women’s tennis, women’s golf, women’s college basketball. Mikaela Shiffrin is making gigantic waves in women’s skiing and my interest level for her success is way high. I am sorry WNBA, I just can’t get excited. But even worse I feel like the league brass and players have done stuff to torpedo the best thing that has ever happened to them. It may be too late for the WNBA, but Caitlin Clark does need a league that will promote and highlight this skilled athlete.
