I sooo agree it’s better to use consistently the same paper for warm ups and final pieces. BUT as I got to know all my papers, I can switch between them and doesn’t bother me anymore! I guess this really depends on our characters whether we love to let go of control or want to grip on a bit of certainty 🤣lovely video ultramarine finest!!!❤
thank you so much for watching! hehe i totally understand! i think different references demand different papers, depending on their texture and colors, so i like to keep some paper sample around. But this year i want to make things simpler for myself, i will stick with 3 or 4 kinds of paper i already have at home so i won't get decision fatigue 😌
Thank you for sharing these beautiful art works. I think they are awesome.❤Also it was a good idea to use the back side of paintings for color swatches. I am going to do the same.😊 May I ask if you had a reference for 100 portrait challenge? I also like to do that but I don’t know how to start. I never get tired of watching your videos. Thank you.❤
aww thank you so much for your kind words! i have a pinterest board for portrait references: se.pinterest.com/ultramarinefinest/100-heads-challange/ although pinterst is infiltrated with so many AI generated images right now, i'm not sure if any of Images are not an actual person... which is a problem for me, im not interested in painting generated faces 😭so i might have to find other resources to continue this challange. but good luck! i would love to know how it goes for you 😍
@@ultramarine_finest Thank you.🥰I started to follow you on Pinterest. You are exactly right. I dived a little bit into how to draw portrait and came across many generated portraits for video games which is not my intention.😞What do you think about Loomis method? Is it just for comic portraits?
@@faribaj.4619 yeah it's disheartening 🫥i tried to learn the loomis method a few years ago but never fully understood it, for some reason it havnt been helpful for me 🥺although i really enjoy watching Hamribs art's video about how she uses Loomis method to draw faces.
I love seeing all the scraps and trial techniques! Makes me feel better about my learning process.
that's great! means a lot to me!
Loved it! Thank you :)

Thank you so much for that lovely video...I like your all landscape works...
Wow. You got a lot done within the year. Your portraits are really good! So are the landscapes…but portraits are scary to me - and those are lovely ❤️
thank you, and i can totally relate! a few mistakes won't break a landscape painting. but for a face it's wouldn't be so fun 😬
Amazing work! I love the layer and transparency in your watercolour paintings. I cant wait to see the 2025 collection
