I know he wasn't supposed to stick around for the entire campaign, but I was REALLY starting to like him being a part of the crew. Travis' playing of him that last episode was fantastically done.

Wait, if that's correct, it lends a hand to the theory that Bertrand was the man who drew a card from Grog's Deck of Many Things. He wished to be a lord of the crossroads, presumably wish to be younger or slow his aging, and still have one wish left before he died.... Wonder what his dying breathe was....?
Bertrand Bell You know what would be cool… if eventually when they animate this stuff. Have him act like this so the audience feel like he was dishonest, and then for C3 when he’s returned and people are surprised by his appearance and after they’ve grow to love him. Show how Bells Hells and others treat him like the blabbering old man who’s always telling stories. Develop his relationship with Dorian. Have Bertrand support Dorian with his performance anxiety. He tells anyone who will listen stories of his exploits because he’s had no one to reminisce with because he’s been doing things alone for so long. Finally he volunteers for the mission to rescue Grog because he thinks why not? Maybe this is how he and his party could’ve been had things gone better. His life after and how he was content but his adventurous spirit kept pushing him. One more to adventure and help. He meets Esteros and then Bell’s Hells. Have the flashback end. Cut to black. Imogen’s dream. Cut back to Bertrand smiling. And end of episode 9.
I love the difference between Travis's old man characters. You've got the supportive grandpa that doesn't really know what's going on but is happy if everyone is having fun. Then you've got the wild and crazy grandpa whose surprised as everyone else that they're still alive considering they've tried every kind of drug imaginable.
I didn't even know that bell was a character before season 3 - I just started watching with 3 and he was my favorite character... I am honestly hearthbroken that he's gone... :(
Oh god, I forgot that Bertrand basically started out at already 50-60 is, so in C3 he’s gotta be minimum of 70-80, legit thought he was 60 in C3 before I saw this lmao.
Did not watch campaign 1 yet so I only knew Old(er) Bertrand Bell from campaign 3, but glad to see he was as full of shit in campaign 1 times What a legend
ok ok ok, I had the idea for a theory while watching this: Every campaign there's been a character death that has had major effects on the campaign/players. C1 it was Vex causing Vax to take the pact with the Raven Queen. C2 it was Molly who then gave rise to Lucien but we also got Cad who helped Fjord become a paladin of the Wild Mother. Campaign 3... Bertrand was a sacrifice. His life was given to gods of d&d, dice, fate, whatever.
This dude at late 50/early 60 was level 18? So would have SLAUGHTERED anyone in the Mighty Nein in close combat, and probably several people in Bell's hells at once, as they're about level 10 as I write this, if they'd met him at this age. Bertrand was not to be messed with in his youth. 😳
To the fans of Bertrand, may I suggest a watch over of "Camp Camp" Travis voices Camron Campbell and I like to think of a animated modern Bertrand Bell.
You know its probably a small reference that probably most people wouldnt catch, but i have a feeling that the blade queen they referenced is a reference to the shrike from the Hyperion book series
Lol, I just realized Bertrand should have been dead in the fight with the corrupted Empyrian because he said he used the +3 of the gamblers rapier and Bertrand went down twice in that fight meaning he should have been dead before bringing Grog back. Lol it was great story telling but I guess they forgot about the ability of the sword.
I cannot remember the circumstances but I mean it's not like he automatically fails the saving throws he just have a -3 on all death saving throws when using +3. So he needs a 13 to save instead of just 10.
I know he wasn't supposed to stick around for the entire campaign, but I was REALLY starting to like him being a part of the crew. Travis' playing of him that last episode was fantastically done.
Yeah i hoped for something like Redemption Arc for him
I’m hoping (it probably wont) his new character is the halfelven lost kid of him and liam’s character

Bertrand Bell was pretty much Gilderoy Lockhart with some actual talent and heart of gold and I fucking loved him for it
That is such an accurate statement
bro bertrand was like 90 something in campaign 3 that’s hilarious, no wonder he dropped 15 levels

"I hope I never see any of you ever ever again" Gets sent back their way in the new campaign.
I never even thought of that, so funny 😂😂
"Whispering Werewolf of the North" sounds like Bertram took credit for Chetney's kill 😂
Bertrand accidentally hitting Fern with the whiskey will never not be funny. Rip to the legend!
I forgot about Scanlan's comment about writing a song about him. Guess he just had that affect on bards.
yeah even Dorian. years later promised to write a song about him
difference is dorian followed up on it, well robbie did
He lived,
he lied
he died.
RIP to a real one
I like the theory I read somewhere that he's the stranger who drew a card from Grog's Deck Of Many Things and wished to be a noble
I love this theory!
thats would mean he had 2 other wishes which would be interesting
@@wishstruck I wonder if his Magical Weapon was one of them?
Wow I love this! Haha I hadn’t thought of that but it is now canon to me
Wouldn't Grog have recognized him though?

Yeah, man, Bertrand was really fun for how long he lasted in C3. I love Chetney, but I also wish we could've gotten more Bertrand before that
We all are bub

He’d be like 90 because VM is like 30 years before THB
Travis talking to himself as two different characters is me in any of my campaigns. we end up playing multiple characters at once

Bellringers

Bert's Bastards?
Hells Bells?
Bell Enders?

What a legend
As far as Campaign 1 is concerned, Bertrand only appears in the one-shot “The Search for Grog” and its sequel “The Search for Bob.”
That last bird call is breaking my heart. Very good character, and Travis playes him amazingly
Bert was my favorite member of the new party. He will be missed.
Bertrand plus Chetney
Travis already has so much practice, he's going to be a great old man
To the Bertrand’s bell ends 🍻

Bertrand deserved better...I'm still super sad about it. But I respect and acknowledge the story and how everything will weave together.
Definitely would like a prequel/backstory (one-shot?) adventure like how Taryon got one with his random party
Yeah that would be really good!
Bertrand being undercover was the best part of all of his appearances.
You're doing the lord's work my man. I'm so sad he's gone :(
the way Travis describes Bertrand always reminds me of a revived Ramirez in the Highlander 2 movie, standing in the tailoring store..
I love how Bertrand temporarily loses his accent after being healed by Keyleth and meeting Grog lmao
The Bell's Hell's have come so far😭
I'm so proud of my darlings
If they don't true resurrect him by the end of this campaign I'll riot.
3:08 pulling out the improv fantasy etymology, never seen that move before
Maybe this would’nt have happened if he fucked with jazz

Doesn't Scanlan revive him with healing before the death throws would have finished him? (Still watching thru the video)
