I have the Vento 890.2 and the 866.2 Center, really love them. They floorstanders benefit from moving them out from the back wall. I found 18”-20”” worked great. No toe-in was required either. Enjoy the new system.
Congratulations!! I also bought Canton Ventos a year and a half ago to replace my B&W Nautilus 805s with HTM2 center channel in my home theater. I got the Vento 890.2 for the front speakers and Reference 9.2 DC for rear channels (both in Cherry Gloss finish from Accessories4Less) and a gloss black Vento 866.2 center from Italy on eBay. I have been very happy with them and am sure you will be to. Very musical and more dynamic than the B&Ws. Enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work and enjoy your new system.

YES! Canton is amazing i have two bookshelf speakers they sound very very good, they fill my big living room and have bass to spare, the highs too are very clear. And they are like 20 years old! Good choice!

Nice to see recent reviews for Canton speakers, and yes they are hard to find now in the USA. My first experience with Canton was in my custom installed car audio system back in 1987. Cantons front and rear, driving off of an Alpine amplifier and Alpine tuner. The sound was amazing..

I listen to metal mostly and it just fulfilled my dream of the sound i have been looking for a long time. They have 3 different sound mode too which makes them the best active speakers that i know of. Heard the kef ls50 wireless and this wins hands down.

Love the creativity of your video. Canton is a sleeping giant. I own the 3.2 DC, before that I had ELAC, B&W, Kef, . The Reference DC made their soundstage seem tiny by comparison. So much detail, and dynamics , instrumental music is incredible. Enjoy!

Beautiful speakers!! I can't believe the price you got them for!! WOW!! Maybe the odd size of the drivers in inches is because they were made in Germany and they use the metric system and when you convert it to inches you get the odd size? I'm in Canada with the metric system and when you covert our speed, distance, and liquid measurements to U.S. you get odd numbers on everything. Congrats big guy! Nice choice! Waiting for the demo!!

I have the Canton Vento 5.1 surround system but with the bookshelf’s instead of the floor standing speakers. I also have the massive Vento AS 850 subwoofer that can shake the whole house. Ventos are great with an outstanding sound quality. I also have the Canton CD 100/50/10 surround sound set up in my master bedroom and it’s good too but doesn’t compare to the Ventos (which would be overkill for a bedroom). Great choice!!
Congrats on some great speakers. They need some burn in so dont get disapointed at first. They will sound better after a couple of hours. Ive had Canton speakers too, the line below yours, and they sounded great! 👍

Also appreciate the fact you didnt go with the norm theres not enough coverage on youtube when it comes to brands like canton and kef its the usual suspects, klipsch, definitive, polk, b&w. Great new speakers, but I’m still said. I have the same LSiMs that you had and just love them! I know it was time for a change, but I’ve only had mine for a year and they are still the best sounding speakers for me and I got them at a fantastic price. One question for you, what are you thoughts on speaker cables? I’m currently using Morrow Audio SP 5 on my main channels, but just wondering is there is something better in that same price range $400 - 500 for a pair. Any recommendations? Hey Kpaceguy, I have almost the exCt set up jn the previous version. I git the AR-800s recently to add to my 856.2 center channel and 890.2 DC. Btw, I did pay for my centrr channel, but the front towers and center, in late 2018 were 2740, so don't get too happy about the free center. Now about the sound, you need an amp to get out that bass. I got the emotiva Xpa-2, 3rd gen and oh my, that bass is low and sweet. The atmos speakers, I have at the wall, right at the ceiling downfiring. Honestly nothing to write about. So here is my setup for video: remux 4ks on a hard drive plugged into a panasonic ub 820 into a yamaha rx-a1080. Yamaha into 2018 LG oled 65. The yamaha feeds directly the center channel, the atmos, and two polk monitor 60 2 series that I just can't throw away from back then, but also enough for surrounds. The yamaha also feeds a SVS 3000 sealed sub. Then the yamaha goes to the emotiva XPA-2 and from there to the vento towers. For music: 24 bit qobuz from my apple mini to chord mojo to the emotiva amp (via shiit sys) to the ventos. Sweet sound.

Ive looked at those cantons many times on accessories for less and always wondered how good they are. The prices are really good. The main thing im curious about are the atmos modules as height speakers. I have the klipsch heights and im getting some new prime elevations on thursday.
I really like the piano gloss white look. I have the piano gloss black speakers and like that look too. After so many speaker brands that I have owned I was never happy because of not enough clean base. These Cantons have great clean bass and agree with you that power subwoofers can't even get down to 20 HZ. I envy you. Thanks for the video.
Great setup! I bought the 896.2 and 866.2 in black gloss from accessories 4 less too. I’m running 6 in ceiling canton 989 8” for heights. Then a pair of the 8” canton in wall for surrounds. I even bought the canton chrono for a bedroom setup. Lol. Where did you get the driver size specs from? The 896.2 have 2 8” bass driver and one 7” mid per canton website. Also the 866.2 has one 7” bass driver and one 7” mid, to make it a true 3 way. Mine are all in black but my chrono are in that white. Absolutely love it!!!
Kpaceguy you are completely right about the sizes. I just looked them all up again on their website and I was wrong. They never had the mm converted before and I took the American websites word for it.

One has very good taste in speakers but may one suggest B&A diamond series they are a little more expensive well here in the UK anyway but the 800 series are stunning
Hey Kpaceguy! Yes, they are beautiful and look great in your listening room! They should sound fantastic...I used to own a pair of Cantons many years ago and they were first rate audiophile speakers then. They were acoustic suspension large bookshelf speakers with polished walnut cabinets...as beautiful as yours are now and they sounded fantastic! Extended highs and super tight bass. Your placement there sound be fine but you may need to move them a little further from the wall for best imaging and bass balance.
roberto corleone They will have more flexibility in placement due to them having down firing bass driver but the other consideration is the imaging. Many speakers that are designed like the Vento (and many others) have improved imaging when the speaker is further from the wall
Damn beautiful speakers but they have big shoes to fill replacing those 707s. One thing I like is that the canton speakers tweeter is closer to sitting ear level than the 707s where tweeter is above my ears.Cant wait for your sound evaluation.
I had the 703 monitors, tweeters seem muddy and flat compared to the sparkle of the Canton. Regarding bass I think the 707 may have a slight edge in depth but will loose out in speed and dynamics. Canton is a sleeping giant.
I don't know if you know it, but Canton produces all drivers themselves in Germany so the quality is crazy, especially for the price. I have the older Canton Ergo RC-L speakers which are crazy especially in the bass. They go down to 18hz. Have fun with them.

Canton specializes in music and hifi audio. When a song plays, the amount of power going to your speaker varies depending on the bass in that particular part or maybe there's a song that starts soft then grows and gets louder so the wattage varies accordingly. It's just the German way of saying rms rating and max rating.

When you convert from their units of measurement it doesn't given you an even number of inches

No klipsch sub is better than any of the svs equivalents

Find your speakers first, read up as much as you can about them then go from there
Hey Kpaceguy! Yes, they are beautiful and look great in your listening room! They should sound fantastic...I used to own a pair of Cantons many years ago and they were first rate audiophile speakers then. They were acoustic suspension large bookshelf speakers with polished walnut cabinets...as beautiful as yours are now and they sounded fantastic! Extended highs and super tight bass. Your placement there sound be fine but you may need to move them a little further from the wall for best imaging and bass balance.
the floorstanders are downfiring port thus have a more friendly placement closer to the wall
roberto corleone They will have more flexibility in placement due to them having down firing bass driver but the other consideration is the imaging. Many speakers that are designed like the Vento (and many others) have improved imaging when the speaker is further from the wall

Damn beautiful speakers but they have big shoes to fill replacing those 707s. One thing I like is that the canton speakers tweeter is closer to sitting ear level than the 707s where tweeter is above my ears.Cant wait for your sound evaluation.
I had the 703 monitors, tweeters seem muddy and flat compared to the sparkle of the Canton. Regarding bass I think the 707 may have a slight edge in depth but will loose out in speed and dynamics. Canton is a sleeping giant.
have you noticed if the atmos AR800 sound was better on top of the mains or on the wall?

I don't know if you know it, but Canton produces all drivers themselves in Germany so the quality is crazy, especially for the price. I have the older Canton Ergo RC-L speakers which are crazy especially in the bass. They go down to 18hz. Have fun with them.

They're beautiful. Congratulations! I notice they have a nominal and music wattage. What's the difference? What's music wattage?
Canton specializes in music and hifi audio. When a song plays, the amount of power going to your speaker varies depending on the bass in that particular part or maybe there's a song that starts soft then grows and gets louder so the wattage varies accordingly. It's just the German way of saying rms rating and max rating.
