I love how comparatively non-competitive climbing is at the top levels. This isn't some top secret facility where training methods are guard closely, its just a cool place to hang out and get better regardless of which country you represent. They are all opponents on the world stage, but they just like hanging out and climbing together.
I wonder if it's because climbers know that the real 'nemesis' is the boulder / lead wall (and not each other) 😂 . Even during competition, you see them being super collaborative and supportive. ❤ that so much about this sport!
Thank you to the climbing community for welcoming us in Salt Lake City - it was so fun to see inside the secret training headquarters. I find professional climbers are always the same as us all - just REALLY psyched to climb together :)
You two are just amazing. Just casually hanging out with Natalia, Oceana, Jesse and Jakob like it's a normal Tuesday :D I really like your videos, your vibe and I have to be honest, all these athletes. You can be proud of yourselves for all this work!
Hannah: Really intelligent thought about the difference between climbing on spray wall and commercial boulders Comp Climber: I like it because it makes you stronger 😂😂😂
This video was like a dream day for me... to hang out with these top climbers for a day and then have Jakob, Sorato, and Tamoa just blending into the background. I think you have mad contacts, Hannah!
I love the climbing community, and this video perfectly highlights why. Seeing people from all different countries training together at the USA Climbing Center is so inspiring and heartwarming. ❤
Incredible video for the "behind the scenes" vibe and the amount of hidden random details is insane, random elite climberes, the improvised look of the warehouse, things you were not expecting to see. BTW hope Natalia Grossman is recovering for the Olympics, she looked in discomfort while climbing on Salt Lake City.
100% agree! Athletes ability to adapt is astounding, but knowing when to take a step back when it’s needed can be so difficult with such huge competitions on the horizon.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Oce is also incredible, it was so good to see her in finals at the Olympics! Sadly we didn’t get a thumbnail with her which is why she’s not in the title. 🫶
This was great to get an inside look at some the behind the scenes of how even top climbers training to compete against each other, really just love working out the problems together like the rest of us.
Learning Process/Improvement > Sending a Boulder I love the mood of the video. People/friends come together, enjoy climbing and spur each other on. Just like in a good climbing gym, only the people who are among the best in the world. Nice to see that Oceana has her sister with her again :).
Really glad you liked the vibe, it was a really insightful day at the TC learning about the athletes training and mindset ahead of some big competitions! ☺️
The setters were setting for a youth comp sim whilst we were there - looked super cool. Amazing facility for the athletes to have access to to train alongside commercial gyms ☺️
Fingers crossed it’s back to full strength soon. From what I see, Natalia is back to using her knee and hopefully her Olympic training is going well ☺️☺️
How cool to be in that environment! Hannah you look so cool, hanging out, taking it all in. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience here. This was fun to watch!
@@hannahmorrisbouldering keep it up Hannah 💪 it actually makes me proud watching your life’s journey on TH-cam even though I’ve never even met you 😂 You’ve accomplished so many things over the last couple years I’ve been watching and I bet it’s surreal after days like this sat in your hotel room thinking “how is this my fucking life?” 😂
The best video game that I play which translates directly to my climbing would be OSU, it builds up endurance,, critical thinking under pressure, zen-flow, etc. and you know good music vibes as well haha
Really glad you enjoyed. The SLC World Cup had just finished when we filmed in the TC, so there were many athletes who had stayed on to train beyond the competition. Great time to drop in! 🥹
Interesting video! A bit worrying though how many pro climbers are dealing with smaller or bigger injuries, not just telling from your video. Stay healthy!
I’m not sure what the injury was specifically but she hurt it in the semi finals of the SLC World Cup. By the looks of her recent training videos on social it’s healing up well 😊
@@hannahmorrisbouldering 😆😊 Thanks Very Much! My ADHD brain is hyper-focused on making it my quest to find out what it is now.😝😁 I really enjoy your videos! I really wish I got into climbing when I was over in England and France last year. I would have loved to have checked out the gyms. Welp! Just something to look forward to whenever I go back!☺️

Couldn't agree more!
Couldn't agree with this comment more🙌 Brilliant video showing behind the scenes featuring an amazing facility and world class athletes 😁

Oceania looking super strong here, excited to have Australian athletes to follow in the olymipic climbing 💪
We're stoked to watch her too :)

Glad you enjoyed it! From the looks of Natalia's training on IG, her knee is on the mend. It will be great to watch her crush in Paris.
I love how both athletes are respecting their injuries and actually resting their affected parts. Good reminder for all of us to know our limits

it was a bit difficult to hear the narration over the music & background noise at the beginning btw!
Thanks for the feedback! Will keep it in mind for future videos
Fantastic video, Hannah.
Great to see behind the scenes and see you all climbing together and sharing beta and encouraging each other.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was very cool to get to peek behind the curtain at the TC for a day!
Wow! guys, these are getting to a serious documentary level! So, so good! And can’t wait to see Nathan on the World Cup stage, soon 😂
Haha eagerly awaiting his debut. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
I wish I had a bouldering gym with belay, can worry less about repeated injuries
You guys really made the most of this opportunity with this video. Incredible!!
Thanks so much - glad you liked it :)
Cool video! I love how chill everyone is in our community :)
On another note: I know it's only a few meters, but that belay technique scares me...
I thought the same! Pretty bad belay...
@@tangerinetango he doesn't really have to hold her fall as the ground is too close, and there are mats, he just needs to slow her down.
I love the climbing culture!
This was such a great video, nice one! (And you should edit the title to include Oce in it, she’s crushhhhhhing)

Great facility and another great video Hannah.
Glad you enjoyed it - it was a great experience to explore it for a day ☺️.
It's kinda reassuring to see that even the best still get scared at the top of a wall sometimes.
Absolutely incredible video!
Glad you think so!
Oceania was just floating in the air ; very impressive
So so strong!
Such a well a made video from start to finish!
Thanks Jordan! 🥰
You can see the pain in Natalias face, she's a good sport
so insane that campus moves
Right?! So strong!
FYI: the local youth competitive teams also train at the TC next to the pros, and the pros train at the local climbing gyms.
The setters were setting for a youth comp sim whilst we were there - looked super cool. Amazing facility for the athletes to have access to to train alongside commercial gyms ☺️
Amazing video!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it ☺️☺️
I’m sad to report that as an avid gamer and climber, hand-eye coordination in games does not translate to climbing 😢
Neither do reaction time, bravery/gumption, endurance 😂.. unfortunately.
Go get them Nathan
🗽 I would also need a belayer for my bouldering, I have also an injured knee... 🤨
I wish Natalia a good and quick rehabilitation. ❤
.
Fingers crossed it’s back to full strength soon.
From what I see, Natalia is back to using her knee and hopefully her Olympic training is going well ☺️☺️

Surprised that some Japanese climbers were also there (in the background lol). I thought they usually stay in Tokyo. Loved the international vibe!

Hi Oceania! Aussie Aussie Aussie!
🙌🙌🙌
@19:40 Desperately wanna know who Trevor is and what it is that he got.
how did you get in contact with natalia?
And did you even mention Jakob?!?!!?!? Or Oceana?!?!?! Wow, quite a group.
Yessss, intro’d the session with Oceana too. Strong crew ☺️
Not to be a narc, but isn’t Natalia on the Addias team? I’m pretty sure she’s wearing Nikes.
I’m fairly sure she’s Black Diamond for apparel and 5:10 for climbing shoes, so I think it’s groovy ☺️
and this is from your trip last summer correct?
From our May trip, this year! ☺️
Is this a normal thing in any other sport where athletes from different teams train toghether like this?
I hope so. The camaraderie in climbing one of the best things about the sport imo!
Does anybody knows what happened to Natalia’s knee?
I’m not sure what the injury was specifically but she hurt it in the semi finals of the SLC World Cup. By the looks of her recent training videos on social it’s healing up well 😊
@@hannahmorrisboulderingim curious what type of brace she uses, thanks for the answer!
Does anyone know what kind of finger injury Jesse got?
I’m not too sure but hopefully it’s on the mend!
What book was Natalia Grossman talking reading about when she was talking about hand eye coordination? 🤔🙂
I’m not sure! I didn’t catch it 🫣🫣

After two minutes I turned the video off because I really had trouble understanding the commentator.
Sorry to hear that! Was it a volume issue? Will bear it in mind for future videos.
I can barely hear your voice over the music and background sounds.
Cheers for the feedback - will bear it in mind for future videos :)
sorry Hannah don't know how else to do it www.youtube.com/@jeremyd328
Sounding a bit Chat GPT scripty, or I'm wrong and your talk is very well done :) Thanks for the video
No ChatGPT on this. Nathan and I worked on the script together.
Imaging climbing for 12 year and can hardly even climb a V6. That's Hannah Morris Bouldering for ya!
🙂
Well that was mean
What an insane experience!! Also I hope no one copies that guys belaying technique 🥲
Awesome video!
Thank you!
