I've really enjoyed this series. I have a small chest deep freezer, and ever considered adding the ice makers to it. Then I remembered I already own two commercial ice machines and could just as easily dig one of them out and have it up in running in a few hours. I still think this is a great idea for someone who needs a steady supply of ice for a fraction of what even a used commercial ice machine costs.
That is actually amazing, this ice is probably a lot colder and will last a lot longer than commercial ice machines. Usually, On those machines ice only gets cold enough to freeze and that's it. On you machine the ice can get as cold as the freezer allows making it a lot better for long storage
Ya know for the price im real proud of you; you made something that really can stick it to the man. if more people started to make these they would thing twice about the prices they are charging.
Mr Kelley could you put a kilawatt device inline so we can see the power usage as your machine cycles? Perhaps a time lapse or a montage. Great videos, keep em coming 👍
maybe you can bend a sheet of aluminum to create a chute. Then install it high up and immediately under the ice-makers so the ice cubes will be accumulated at the center of the freezer.
@@TKCL do you put ice in your live well, or similar to live well when you catch fish. i used to go fishing when i was a teenager. never kept my fish though. (i do not really like seafood) but the thrill of catch and release was it for me.
Thought about doing this in an old stand up freezer. Just take the box and shelves out add a sheet of plexi in the front and let the ice fill that sucker up
@@RyanGribble a chute would only put it down to the lowest level of the portion below the ice makers, which is only about 1/3 the height of the box. You still have to push it to the other side when it gets to that height. Maybe a elevator would work to bring it to the highest point and drop it in the middle of the deepest part of cavity.
@@leisurelylogan i misread your comment. An auger mounted horizontally between the ice makers would accomplish that. Set it up to run for a short time after the ice maker's dump.
@@RyanGribble I am sad at myself for not mentioning the Archimedes Screw, since I showed how it worked to the Trailmen in my troop just a few months ago.
You’re making more frost than ice. I freeze 1 cubic foot of ice blocks, 6 at a time. Dice them on the band saw, takes about 10 minutes to dice all 6, into a cooler. Several coolers full. Without the frost. Work smarter not harder.
@@TKCL there’s 7 1/2 gallons of water in a cubic foot, that’s almost 60 lbs of ice. I can dice 2 cubic blocks of ice on the bandsaw in 4 mins. And it drops into my cooler as it’s diced. 120 lbs pounds of ice in 4 minutes, without babysitting a ice maker, and building up frost 2 inches thick in my freezer 😂🤣
@@TKCL I am produce more ice in 2 days than you can in 2 weeks, simply by filling up the 6 silicone 1 cubic foot ice forms. And they make clear ice that last longer the cloudy ice maker canoes 😂🤣
Very happy for you! The convenience of my ice and type is perfect for my needs. Block ice does not work well with coolers full of drinks or fish boxes full of fish. Those situations need cubes to surround them for uniform cooling. Block ice helps in those situations, but is not perfect.

I'm going to test that, but I think so too.
I love how much ice thats producing for you.
A lot of ice.Perfect

Ice lover's dream!
I love ice!
Nice work! Hi sir i would like to ask where did you buy the ice maker?
Amazon, link should be in the video description
Nice ice.

I have been running one. Most of that data was shared in a recent video. If there is specific power usage you are looking for I can let you know.
Did you ever figure out if the ice makers are on timers or if they're actually sense the temp?
Mine work on temperature, that's how I'm getting ice production to go up a lot! Video out this afternoon.

Yeah, that would be a good choice
But I want the freezer slap full for those days I ice down a lot of coolers for my fishing trip. I have a tray under the ice makers

I have built in fish boxes on my saltwater boat, it uses the most ice.
I noticed that you put the fans close to the ice makers, did that make a difference ?
Video out in a few hours 😁
Hello sir. Do you have a full video of this ice making
Here is the Playlist Homemade ice machine build: th-cam.com/play/PLjMiWszKqAl3h0pJY1QZoRnDvzJvVMUxq.html
Is this called crescent ice and is it soft and chewy?
No it's not
Do you think it makes more now or can you tell a difference?
Yes, video out in a few hours
How much electricity does it use?
Around 2Kwh in a 24 hour period. I'm running it on solar now for free.
Did u make a video about moving the fans??....seems like production went up dramatically with the fans being right up against the ice makers
Uploading it right now, give me a couple of hours to post it
O my bad
Buy you another freezer handsome 20lb ice bags and start bagging it up and stick it in the other freezer.
No worries
I just want to see it filled to the top once.
Gonna be a good day. We shall wait
Oh yes, that will be a good day.👍👍
It's getting there quickly! Then I'm using that ice lol
Can you send a link for those fans you got? And thank you for the videos I’m gonna make one.
A viewer sent me those, they are made by cooler guys.
Imagine one of the big freezers with 4 or even 6 of the ice makers going.....would be awesome
I would have one, but I'm limited on space where this will eventually be going
How do I make this please ?
Woooo keep ‘em comin
Thought about doing this in an old stand up freezer. Just take the box and shelves out add a sheet of plexi in the front and let the ice fill that sucker up
That works too
where to buy this and how much?
It's homemade
Sir teach me how to make it my own freezer
1st
Bruh
I've been following this whole series! Love the videos
Thank you for watching, new video out later today
What’s up with the build up on the sides?
I'm opening this in a hot shop multiple times a day for videos and testing.
Nice! Noticed the fans are now directly over the ice makers.
Editing that video now, been testing a lot!
So what are you up to... 9lbs every 24hrs?
That's very close
Wow!!!!!!
I see a ice for sale sign in the future.
It looks like the fans aren't even on...it must be producing like crazy now that it's getting full.
I cut the fans off anytime I open it so they don't pull hot air in. Yes it's producing very well
1 person disliked this video!?! This is genius!
dude june 24 was one tray now you are at 2 tray plus omg
wow
Wait until you see the numbers later today. The percentage increase is amazing. Video out soon
How many of you want to quess what day the freezer will be FULL of ice?? Who wants to guess July 4th??
🎉🎉🙂🙂
Lol that would have been a good game to play a while back
Now you need an auto shovel to move the ice from where it drops to the top of the pile. LOL
I was thinking an aluminum plate to act as a chute

Might be cheaper to buy $1 ice bag from Buger King or McDonald's
